Went for the DineLA lunch. Noisy (could use sound absorbers on the ceiling), hard to hail a server for water, we finally had to get the water ourselves, 2 toilets in the ladies restroom didn’t flush (we told workers there). Mgr was kind enough to have one of us order from the menu bc of allergies and took our orders while the rest of us ordered from DineLA, but unfortunately, we didn’t have a regular server, which may be the lack of service. Food was fresh though! Free valet parking for 4 hrs if attend restaurant.
Always love Farmhouse. Went for brunch. Excellent Brussels sprout salad and mushroom omelette. My only issue (but not worth singing their ratings) was that I asked if smoked salmon was cured in house. Server said absolutely. When I received it, it tasted like commercially available packaged lox.
First time for Dinner! Very Impressed with the Ambience! We were Greeted by Friendly Hostess! Our server (Landon) was Wonderful!
Hubby had a Yummy Butternut squash soup & I really enjoyed grilled Octopus! For Dinner Hubby had Cheeseburger & I had Hanger steakn& Broccolini! GOOD!
Finished with a Very Good Cheesecake!! Mmm! Excellent Meal
We had a reservation for a party of 7 for my dad's birthday following a visit to the MODSLA. We called them on the day of to change the time of our rez not once, but twice, and they were super courteous and accommodating. The staff were all amazing and the food was delicious. I would go back in a heartbeat and recommend Farmhouse to all!
Is it pretty? Yes very pretty but I can’t eat pretty— and I’m actually a vegetarian. So that says a lot if I score 1 star in a “vegetable-forward” restaurant. That mean, trust me take your money elsewhere. Server was cool but we paid for $180 worth of 2 bread baskets, wilted caesar salad, so-so eggs, and small plate of beef. For instagram purposed, go ahead enjoy. Ask for salt on the side though. You’ll need it!
Great spur of the moment lunch...had the steak and wedge salad and did not disappoint...
We went with friends. They ordered the beer batter cod, roasted fingerlings, and the pasta with wild mushrooms. Kim and I split the prix fixe, the brussel sprouts salad and the chicken sandwich on brioche-- both excellent. Kind and attentive service. Parking at the valet stand is terrific, free for 4 hours, very convenient.
Did not receive points:-(
Great service, lovely ambiance, excellent food. Just a little loud at lunchtime with restaurant goers plus music. Overall though an excellent experience and we will be back!
Service was great drinks were amazing food was mediocre and it was way too pricey
The service was incredible from the bartender to our server to the owner - it felt very familial as if we were dining in their home. Great food and cocktails! We look forward to our next dine at Farmhouse.
This place must not typically get many customers because they were completely overwhelmed by the crowd they got this Saturday night (and the dining room was still not full). Our evening started with long waits at the valet line, longer waits to get a server's attention at the table, various staff coming out after orders and replacement orders were taken to tell us the kitchen had ran out of items we ordered, and forgotten items when food finally did materialize. At one point we had two of the same mushroom pasta entrees on the table, the second of which was clearly rushed and made incorrectly as it was watery and missing the butter that made the first version tasty. Another pasta dish was undercooked to the point of being inedible.
The table across from us got up to leave after hearing half the menu was unavailable, and we would have been smart to do the same but were enjoying the ambiance of the room and hoping the meal would improve.
The check contained errors at the end of the night, charging us for items that had never made it to the table. The manager should have appeared at that point, but he was busy apologizing to other tables. We couldn't find our server and needed to leave for a show at Largo, so paid at the bar, which was empty.
Farmer Nate must have been out in the fields last night because he certainly wasn't running his restaurant. We will not return, but hope the space is taken over by more capable hands as it's a nice room.
The food was fanrastic. Flavors spot on. Presentation beautiful. Our server was knowledgeable and truly delightful.
We ordered grilled Caesar salads with beef; in light of the Romaine recall, the menu stated that we would receive grilled Little Gem. That was fine. The salads arrived. The salad was not grilled. The lettuce was a kale, not the Little Gem. We sent them back. The server told us that the kitchen had to substitute because of the Romaine recall (as if the menu had not already changed this). As a replacement we were served iceberg with the same beef (an item on the menu) and were charged the more expensive price of the grilled Caesar with beef.
After having chosen this restaurant based on the menu posted on its web site and elsewhere, once we were seated, we learned that the menu is subject to frequent changes that are not reflected on the web sites. A number of the items that had sparked our interest were not available. Which was extremely disappointing. It's also very expensive. Beware.
The food was amazing. Good service , nice atmosphere, highly recommended.
Great server Bethany!
Disappointing brunch. The avocado toast was bland and the taste was off (how do you wreck avocado toast?) and the egg on top was cold. Just not a very good meal.
good place to have a nice mean and be able to hear your companions talk!
Very good, the waiter could’ve waited a little longer to collect the plates to let us finish our meal. Other than that, very nice.
Unfortunately the bar was "backed-up". This was the case the first time I visited too. My concern (which was shared with our waiter) was that because we waiting so long for our cocktail, our food would arrive just as we were enjoying a drink. And that is exactly what happened.
Because of this, bus staff cleared our drinks including my "shaker ice" before we were done. It was a drag.
I ordered the mushroom pasta which was good but could have been seasoned a bit more.
I chose for business meeting for daytime but music is so loud, and pop music, not a great for business meeting
The lighting was a little bright; was hoping for a slightly more subdued atmosphere (especially for a dinner seating). Service was fine, but not exceptional; bartender was friendly.
A lovely restaurant located at the corner of Beverly Center. The restaurant does not represent the Nth degree of Michelin starred destination restaurants, but it offers the acme of what the LA semiformal ambience can afford. The noise from the music and TVs at the centrally located bar was not obtrusive. Staff are relaxed, casual, and attentive. The attention to detail in regard to silverware, plates and food is all very good.
The food was brought out promptly, timing of courses was perfect, and the flavor was excellent. I particularly enjoyed the handmade pasta. The gnocchi were outstanding. Even the sunchokes were decent -- and honestly how much can you do with sunchokes? Desserts were also excellent, a bit of a twist on the usual fare -- in particular the Cheesecake was memorable.
The total cost for dinner for two (two entrees, one appetizer, water (for which they charge $8!) and two beverages came to just over $100. A bit steeper than you might pay elsewhere, but in general I would say it was in line with the quality of the food and service.
I was quite happy overall with the experience, and I would not hesitate to return for another birthday celebration next year!
Superb food, Excellant service ... salmon was outstanding!!!! Can’t wait to go back
Incredible staff, food, ambiance!! We celebrated a birthday at farmhouse over the weekend, we were a party of 12, and us the best experience! Definitely recommend this restaurant for a special night occasion and for large parties. The staff is really great and the drinks were delicious! Can’t wait to go back!
Exceptional food created with ingredients sourced from the owners farms and combined in very interesting ways! I will make an effort to dine there again when I’m in Los Angeles.
Excellent service, very friendly staff food was delicious!!
The food was good, our server was awful. He knew nothing about basics questions about the food. He was short, rude and it was like we were bothering him. This place is not kid friendly not even a little... don’t bother if you want to enjoy a brunch with adults and kids. Everyone except the hostess seemed to have an attitude problem. I was very disappointed because I was looking forward to having a good experience
Great food and ambiance
We loved the owner and the story behind restaurant.
The Farmhousei is wonderful. The food at lunch was excellent. Greg with one of the best servers I’ve ever had. Charming and attentive and friendly. He made the experience most enjoyable
Last year we hosted our annual holiday party at Farmhouse and it was wonderful. This week we took a friend to try it as well as see what's in season, to possibly host the holiday party there again and were we disappointed! Three of us dined and 2/3 dishes were disappointing. One of us ordered the gnocchi and the portion was very small portion. The other person ordered the spaghetti pomodoro and the pasta was completely undercooked (we were dining with an Italian and he confirmed). The only two dishes that were OK were the grilled bread and the Caeser salad. Then, when we asked for the check, there were additional items of the check, which we hadn't ordered. This was a night and day experience from last year and we were very sad. The chef is great and the dishes are usually delicious and plentiful so it was sad to have had this experience.
Employess really rude. Bad service
I love the look of the restaurant. I ordered a chicken avocado sandwich which was lathered with so much sauce I never tasted the avocado. Plus it was a messy sandwich to eat. But I will certainly return to the restaurant and try something else. The menu could be a little bit more extensive.
Great meal. Easy parking and wonderful staff.
I'll definitely be back!
Our family ate here for dinner on a Friday night. We had reservations and were promptly seated. The server was excellent, attentive but not invasive. The food was good, the fresh tomato salad excellent.
We started with the appetizers and they were impeccable. But when the main course came, we were very disappointed. When I was about to order the gnocchi, the waiter warned me the portion wasn't big. He wasn't kidding. US$15 for 6 tiny ricotta gnocchis on the plate! The portion was even smaller than any of the appetizers, which doesn't make any sense to me! The spaghetti, served with pomodoro sauce, was so thick it resembled buccattini and it was very chewy (not al dente). We also ordered skate but it was very fishy.
One of the best Eggs Benedicts in the city!
