About this restaurant

  • Neighborhood gem
  • Great for outdoor dining
  • Great for craft beers
Imagine walking down the streets of New Orleans' famed French Quarter, past iron-wrought fences dripping with Mardi Gras beads and kitschy souvenir shops. You eventually stumble upon a lively joint where the stories are just as fresh as the fare. The kettle tips down and out oozes a wonder sauce cooked to perfection and served with warm rice and fresh garnish. It’s instant comfort in a bowl.

Second time there. Service is very good. I split everything with hubby. Oysters excellent. Bacon wrapped shrimp very good. Dive clam chowder (elevated version) EXCELLENT. Pan Roast variety: very good but didn’t need if you get their clam chowder. Too similar but with different bases. Just don’t need both. The 2 downfalls: mai tai cocktail = very minimal booze covered in fruit juices. Sooo not worth it. Just order beer or wine. And biggest downfall: they have UFC on both TVs. Who wants to watch people kicking, bleeding, choking, etc while eating a nice dinner? People behind us were talking about it too. And Another table had their 5- yr old and were disgusted with this. The owner was oblivious.

This was our first visit. Ernesto was our waiter. She had the house pan roast (medium), and I had the gumbo (medium). They were both served hot and fresh. Each dish was seasoned to perfection with a nice "medium kick." This experience will ensure that we return again soon with several first timers in our group. Thanks for an awesome Friday night dinner out!

Oh my gosh, the food was amazing! My husband and I had a little bit of everything on the menu and they did not disappoint. Best lobster roll we’ve had on the west coast. The loaded mac n chowder is beyond amazing and it’s in a sourdough bread bowl which just adds to the awesomeness. And the steamed mussels and clams are so good. They season their food so well. The staff is amazingly attentive as well. We will definitely be returning soon.

First time there and was pleasantly surprised. Nice atmosphere and while it’s all open, the noise level was fine. Our server was great and attentive and the food was delicious. Recommend the brussel sprouts. We will be back to try more.

I used to drive all the way to Temple City for the food and I’m so glad they are now in my neighborhood. The food is excellent!

I had the lobster roll and it was good but pricy for the size. The waitstaff didn’t know the actual cost and gave a lower price than what I was rung up for. The oysters were very good and the chimichurri sauce served with them was exceptional. The ambiance was okay, more like somewhere I’d want to go for lunch than a nice dinner, though. All in all, the prices were high but the quality of the food was too. There is a lack of coordination with the kitchens that is problematic, my plate came out well before my friend’s - about 15 minutes - they need to work on this as we weren’t the only table with this problem. I figure they’re still working out some kinks but the pricing will probably keep us away except when we want just oysters…

What a pleasant surprise! We mourned the loss of our favorite local Mexican restaurant, Joaquin’s, a couple of years ago. It was empty for a while, but finally reopened as Dive, a small chain with Cajun themed seafood. Our hostess/server, “Bar,” was engaging, friendly, and helpful. She had good suggestions and in-depth knowledge of the dishes. All the shellfish, both cooked and raw, were fresh and properly prepared. The flavors top-notch. It’s a bright and airy space, quiet with only three or four tables occupied on a Tuesday night—40% off bottle of wine night. My only ding is the pricing—a bit expensive for such a casual experience. Quality seafood is not cheap, but $15 for bread pudding is a bit much unless you’re in a very fancy place. Also, a charge for a bit of bread for the table (good bread—toasted) always rankles me. Still, in the dining desert that is Yorba Linda, we’ll be back.
