Service was very poor this evening. We had to wait for a longer period of time then usual for someone to take our order of offer us a drink! Our starter was delicious. Then we were served the wrong main courses. Then when our main courses arrived they were like warm and also one of the side dishes were not correct. They changed the whole meal but said we would have to wait for at least 15 minutes. Main courses came after 15 minutes and everything was delicious. Plates were cleared and no dessert menu was offered. Eventually after a period of time we managed to get the attention of a waiter and we just asked for hot drinks. We told him that we were not offered dessert menu - he was apologetic. Drinks did not arrive so we called over another waiter and eventually the drinks arrived - my drink was not correct but at this stage I just wanted to go home so drunk it! We asked for the bill at the same time as when we ordered our drinks - it didn’t arrive. We chased the bill. It eventually arrived. We didn’t add on service as we felt that we were not serviced well. When we were paying - we said what has happened tonight - the waiter said he couldn’t tell us but apologised. So we left very disappointed at the service. The food was delicious though and as we have been often to this restaurant we will give them another chance!
As always it was excellent. It’s my favorite restaurant in London. Just keeps getting better!
Arrived 10 minutes before reservation time, showed to downstairs bar for pre-dinner drink. No menu available downstairs to view. After 35 minutes and still no indication table was ready we enquired and made our way upstairs, finally shown to table. Food arrived and was lukewarm, monkfish undercooked ( still translucent) and cold in centre.
Lovely venue . Nice welcome from helpful friendly staff. We were then taken to the bar where we had excellent cocktails.
We were taken to the table fairly swiftly and although in the corner it was fine. Quite a loud Resteraunt but not too noisy to be uncomfortable.
Service from the staff was really good. We were well looked after all night.
Food was excellent , as was the wine.
Definitely would return
We had a lovely meal to celebrate my wife’s 40th. They even brought us complementary champagne and a cake at the end of the meal which was amazing and very thoughtful.
Only thing I was less impressed by was the downstairs bar. This felt like it needed to be updated/smartened up and didn’t feel as special as the restaurant.
Food was good although we were not asked if we wished to order from the a la carte menu and as a result ordered from a more restricted menu without realising.
Staff are well trained and helpful .The food was delicious and generous .The early evening menu was good value .
My only criticism was that the sticky toffee pudding with ginger was a bit dry and did not have sufficient toffee sauce for the sponge to soak up.
Friendly staff. Good service.
Food very enjoyable with the nice touch of a surprise anniversary cake.
Restaurant was a bit quiet in number of tables booked . A Saturday lunch time. The actual building and library in which the restaurant was located was very good and interesting.
Lovely setting. Had the tasting menu. Pace was very slow and the food was luke warm. Very disappointed, especially at £95 per person. Service was okay, but not great. Overall, a mediocre experience and poor value.
Very different take on Indian cuisine. Excellent presentation and great food
Amazing food; truly exceptional - went there to celebrate a special occasion and the staff and service was excellent! Looking forward to going back again soon.
Kept waiting a bit for reservation on a rainy evening. Table was a poor location even with others seemingly available so felt a bit annoyed with that. Waiter ( Bose) was excellent and thoughtful. We ask for an unusual wine and for a Georgian wine which was acceptable
We let Bose choose our food and he did a great job. The space was a bit cold and uninviting but the place was busy so that helped
I entertained 4 of my colleages from outside of London for Lunch at The Cinnamon Club taking drinks in the downstairs bar before eating and we enjoyed the whole experience. The service was slick and professional and although we were the last customers to leave the staff were exceptionally accommodating. Thank you!
Amazing experience to eat fine Indian food in an excellent environment
A beautiful and interesting building and a lovely spicy smell permeates the restaurant. Far removed from the menu of a typical indian restaurant. Interesting dishes at sensible prices. The staff are all lovely as well.
First time at The Cinnamon Club - discovered a new gem!!!
Fantastic flavoursome food, friendly professional service and great value.
Best India restaurant in London I've visited.
Only regret - my office is not next door :)
Probably the best place to have a dinner in this area. Incredible Indian cuisine, cozy interrior and very nice staff. Love this place very much!
Wonderful food, service and ambience. Have not been for a long while but will be visiting again soon.
The starters were amazing so the mains, whilst very good, didn't quite live up to the same standard.
Service overall was very good but let down a little by a disorganised cloakroom
Perfect celebratory dinner - we lo be back Looking forward to it
Lovely location and excellent food
Family gathering, good quiet atmosphere with spicy Aroma.
Haben uns es etwas kulinarischer vorgestellt
New Year’s Eve was fab thanks to amazing food.
Lovely dinner in a beautiful setting. Service was a little off and attention to detail lacking.
food was OK, more vegan options, mock tales was less, music was ok
There menu online is completely different to what they show you when you get there. The prices were to expensive I would never go back
Dear Badalh, I am sorry to hear about your visit, we have several menus on offering and depending on the time of the day restrictions on offering do apply. The menus online are updated as and when we change our offerings and are sample offering- they do reflect the original offering barring some dishes which change. Best Regards, Team Cinnamon
As usual our meal was wonderful, the grilled Octopus in spicy tomato sauce was tender & beautifully spiced the crab risotto was perfect & the grilled Pacific king prawns were just unbelievable.
The festive touch with the Garam masala Christmas pudding & cinnamon ice cream was wonderfully decadent.
All enjoyed with a carafe of great wine & friendly professional service all added to a great dinning experience, a little pricey but with dinning this good who cares.
Dear Treveor, Thank you for taking time to leave your feedback, we are delighted to hear you had a great dining experience with us. We look forward to welcoming you sometime soon. Best Wishes, Team Cinnamon
Beautiful location and wonderful staff. The food was excellent as well. Perfect in every way possible!
The food and ambience were fantastic. Lovely spot for a long lunch. However, it took over an hour and 15 minutes to get our food. We were required to follow up with the wait staff to have the food delivered. I think they forgot our order as we ordered from the set menu. I would keep the delay in mind if booking here.
Great food and wine but service was very poor. Sporadic, un-paced and channeled through the senior staff of which there were not enough of.
Generally ok but for the price would have expected more.
Food and ambience was excellent. Initial service good too, but towards end of the meal when restaurant was busy, the couple sat next to us left as they had been waiting over half an hour just to order, and we had been left 25 minutes without being asked if we wanted coffee or even for the chance to pay the bill. It was a shame as everything had been excellent up to dessert
The food at Cinnamon Club was amazing! However, when we arrived, service felt rushed and we were seated without a proper greeting or our coats being taken. After this our cocktails arrived simultaneously as our starters, creating a rushed feeling. However, all the food and drink was delicious and the surroundings of the library made the night highly enjoyable! (But there is definitely room for improvement on the service front)
Food was good, but not exceptional. Beautiful room. Rather dark tables when you sit on the sides, no candle etc. No music. Big place. Friendly staff. Rather small menu.
As always high quality wonderfully flavoured food beautifully presented. It was just after Christmas so the restaurant was not busy and the staff were good but few.
The naan is not warm, the service was not great, the waiter did not introduce each dish properly and we also couldn’t hear him well. The welcome champagne came at our second dish whilst we saw others came when they were still reading the menu. It was Christmas day lunch and was pricer than usual. It was 125 pounds pp, the price was not an issue, the issue was the service level could not compensate it at all. To be fair there is no service charge if the table has less than 8 people therefore there was no service for the two of us. The food was not bad but was certainly not exceptional. Even if normal day price was 40-60 pp I would think it barely worths the money. I thought it would be better indian food because, it is marketed to be indian fine dining and creative cuisine. But probably just too much marketing there. At least the plates served in the restaurant was different than the plates they used in marketing photos. The only thing I don’t complain about is that the clothes don’t stink after leaving the restaurant. People on open-table are probably too nice and generous with the ratings, I would give a 2.5 but the system wouldn’t let me so it is a 2.
Enjoyed or Christmas Lunch at this historic and remarkable restaurant. Food was outstanding and service was all excellent. Hope to make it back on my next visit to London.
We just had Christmas lunch at this restaurant. I can confidently say that this was our worst experience of all the high end Indian restaurants. Food was average and abysmal customer service.
Set meal was £125 per person but the food was below average. My local Indian restaurant serves better food for £25. I had 'Salmon carpaccio with caramel Jhal muri'. It tasted ok but not something I expected to eat in an expensive restaurant. My partner had 'mini pancakes (uttapam) with coconut chutney'. The presentation of this dish was worse than a street vendor. My partner said that the pancakes and the main course (kofte) tasted stale. I had king prawns. Prawns had nice flavour but I had to eat lot of gritty sand with it. Side dishes were average too. Interim course was great.
We gave this feedback to the waiter. 'Mr Harsh Joshi' (Manager) came and spoke with us. He gave us his card. He told us to email him later and promised to look after us in the future. We were disappointed with his response and hoping that he would have tried harder to rectify the situation. We were presented with the final bill with no further discussion or consideration. We asked to speak to the manager hoping our bad experience would be reflected in the final bill. We waited for almost 30 mins but it appeared that staff were avoiding to speak with us. I think they were hoping that we would pay and leave quietly. Finally we decided to get up and speak with them. Another gentleman told to us to either pay in full or leave without paying anything at all. There was no attempt made to acknowledge our experience and turn it into a positive customer experience by offering something in return. The promise of 'looking us next time' gave us no confidence.
I am sure my review wouldn't necessarily stop people eating at this restaurant. At least I would not recommend it to anyone. There are so many good high end Indian restaurants in London now that it would be OK to give this place a miss in the future.
Christmas lunch - what a massive treat. Astonishing, elegant, top-end Indian food, and you don't feel stuffed afterwards.
