Service, ambience and tacos were fabulous. But my husband didn't enjoy his fajitas which he felt were bland. However, we will be back and try something else. Favorite thing were the chili appetizers. Wow!! Beautiful setting and such a treat. A Santa Fe gem.
Sat out on the patio at sunset. We both had the Filet Mignon dinners and were very happy with them. We take our steaks differently and they made them perfectly for each us. A caution that it cools off quickly after sunset and we were both a little chilled. Bring a jacket and enjoy.
I have eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner here for two days sitting on the large terrace overlooking the pond surrounded by cottonwoods. Every meal was outstanding!

Lovely relaxed lunch in a time of great stress. Surrounded by lovely garden and beside a small pond with lovely trees the lunch was tasty. Good healthful options and also sinful ones for every desire. As was driving I did not have a chance to examine the wine offerings but did notice a limited craft beer offering of IPA styles (personally I don’t like IPAs) from local brewery.
The Blue Heron is a bit off the beaten path in Santa Fe, but well worth the trip. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. The food is outstanding. My only nit, a better beer list would be appreciated but other than that, absolutely no complaints.
We did breakfast once and dinner twice, the bison burger was amazing!! Good flavor! The next time we had the filet mignon and for the price, it was not worth it at all! But the evening was beautiful the desert was amazing! We had the chocolate almond cake and it was delicious!
We went for vegan food which was on their menu. We were informed their chef left and with him the menu so no vegan options! They were accommodating turning the chicken enchiladas vegan for us but what a huge disappointment! They should at least remove the old chef’s menu from their website by now!

Limted lunch menu is disappointing
The pasta was overpriced and underwhelming. Lots of very sweet sauce, but no bread. The hostess delivered the appetizer with no mask and the kitchen was slow (took 45 minutes to get our meals). Ambience was great, but we sat in an added seating area, so by the time our meals arrived the sun had set, we could not see anything on our plates. I'm not one to post negative reviews, but they can do better.
Food was excellent. Ambiance can’t be beat. Service was mediocre at best. We had to keep asking for them to send our waiter
We were celebrating our 10th anniversary at the spa, and the table they seated us at was right on the path where all the waiters were coming and going. I felt like, since they asked in our reservation that a bit more consideration could've been given to our placement. i also felt like we had been rushed out of there with little time to just enjoy the atmosphere. But, overall the menu was fine - nothing particularly mind-blowing, but they were able to accommodate a vegetarian, which is always nice.

What a joy our brunch at the Blue Heron was! So much so I hesitate to let people in on the secret!
We were seated outside (because Covid restrictions) under a big cottonwood right near the water. It. was cool and serene!
Our host, waiter, busser and all staff were friendly and kind and efficient!
We started with a glass of Prosecco & a Charcuterie, which had fresh wonderful olives, fruits and very good cheese along with hard salami and prosciutto wrapped cheese- And Brie! absolutely wonderful way to start a great Sunday!
I had the Steak Fajitas which were perfect for such a perfect setting- My daughter had Fish Tacos and they were perfect as well.
The food is locally sourced and delicious.
I can't wait to go back! I want to make it a regular thing!

Had lunch on the patio, overlooking the beautiful property. Our meal was cooked to perfection and the service was excellent. What a magical place!
Pre-Covid we loved the Blue Heron. Currently, they are serving a reduced menu which is fine and understandable. My husband had the chicken and pasta and the chicken was over cooked. I had the steak which was just ok. The most disappointing part was the HORRIBLE service. It was our anniversary and we were looking for a special evening. Hopefully in the future they will go back to the great restaurant they once were.
We were outside due to COVID restrictions. It started raining, then sleet, then lightning so close there wasn’t a delay with thunder and we were told we had to leave. This same thing happened in Albuquerque and we were invited inside to finish our dinner. The wait staff was nice and competent, but not exceptional, creative, or empowered. If this resort wants to move from 3.5 stars to 5, that will need to change.
That being said, the staff wrapped up our food to take to our room and replenished the wine lost due to the rain. We had a great anniversary, but know our dinner as well as the wedding party ruined could have been handled better.
Food was great, as always. Unfortunately, with no indoor dining, the portal was quite warm even under the pergola. We’ll be back once the heat wave ends.

You couldn't ask for a more beautiful setting for outdoor dining. Very shady alongside a body of water which is rare in Santa Fe. Just lovely. Great food as well.

The waiters had their masks covering their mouths, but not their noses. No one had their nose covered when talking or serving us.
I can see making changes when not in our proximity, but they were never covered.
I felt comfortable everywhere else. I covered mine to show him how it should be. He adjusted his, but not his nose.
The food and ambience is outstanding. Above all the rest.

Had hoped to have been able to eat outdoors but the dining room was very pleasant. Our server was knowledgeable and very pleasant. Caesar salad with salmon was excellent. The fish tacos with mango salsa and a yummy jicama slaw was really delicious

This meal was our last dinner (we opted for the included meal plan) of a seven-night stay at Sunrise Springs resort. I I waited to leave a review at the end, rather than after each meal. All meals were great, but tonight’s short ribs and salmon entrees were perfect, right down to desserts! The creme brûlée was our family’s favorite. There aren’t enough positive words to describe how kind, welcoming, and professional the waitstaff is at the Blue Heron. Meal after meal, each day, we were greeted warmly and with smiles on top of excellent service. We tried not to ask for too many favors on little tweaks to our meals, but when we did, we were always accommodated. The wait staff truly gives off the serene vibe we came looking for on this vacation with our college daughter. Yes, she picked “spring break” (U Michigan’s Not-so-Spring Break) with her parents at this wonderful resort full of good food, lovely staff, yoga, mini experiential classes, spa days, soaking pools, and cats, silky hens, and PUPPIES (yes, I meant to scream that last word) to boot! It was a most memorable and relaxing week. Thank you Laura, Esther, Andy, Abraham and other servers at the restaurant for taking such good care of our family during our meals for our stay. We met the head chef, Rocky, and thank him for his inventive dishes and feeding us TOO well! We hope to return someday for more R & R and great meals at the Blue Heron!

Very nice dining experience. Especially enjoyed carrot-ginger bisque, mushroom fritters, and veggie filled poblano pepper. Great service and ambiance as well.
The food was very good and there are many choices for vegans and carnivores. The service was poor and unprofessional, however.
