The crabmeat tostadas are still my favorite, though I haven’t had a meal here that wasn’t delish. It’s the perfect spot for business lunches, special occasion celebrations and social get-togethers!
I would have to say everything was nice but the lamb chops that my husband ordered was disappointing. While it could have been wonderful, his request for medium came to the table rare (with a cool red center). When he told the waiter, he immediately took it back. However, it was not put back on the grill but microwaved. You could tell that grayish shine on top. My tuna was spectacular but both should have been.
From the valet parking to the service inside the restaurant everyone was so friendly and professional. Loved the food and the prices were reasonable. Will return.
We had to wait for 45 minutes to be seated even though we had a reservation and were on time. The place was really loud so I felt like I had to yell for my wife to hear me, which really made the experience unromantic. After being seated without menus, we had to wait 10 minutes before the waitress arrived. She didn’t bring menus either, so we had to wait another 5 minutes before she returned with menus. I tried to order a glass of wine and she said that I was looking at wine bottle selection. I had to point out that I was looking at the wine by the glass list. We asked the waitress for bread and for her to light the candle on our table. She returned later to take our drink order but she was without bread and without a lighter. We reminded her about the bread and the candle. She returned later with our drinks but without bread and without a lighter. We reminded her again. She returned later and said that the bread was still baking but we still didn’t have our appetizer. She finally had a lighter with her. Later a guy brought our bread but it was rubbing against his shirt as he carried it. For our main course, my wife’s duck was very undercooked so we had to ask for it be cooked some more. When they brought it back, the plate was hot so it was apparent they just put in the microwave to heat it up. Plus the meat was chewy at that point. My filet mignon was good though. We had the cheesecake for dessert. It was good as well. Overall a very disappointing experience. Definitely not worth the time and money we spent there. We felt the restaurant is very poorly run and that they’ll be going out of business soon. We won’t be going back.
After several bad experiences dining out on Valentine’s Day, I was reluctant to try again. Booked a 6PM table to avoid the later evening rush and service and food quality was first class. Annie’s can manage a full house with grace and style. Their menu offers a nice range of options and their special cocktails are wonderful. The offer to book flowers that were waiting at our table was a nice touch!
Annie is the MOST romantic and special place for a night out or intimate brunch in Houston. The service is impeccable, the food is world-class, and the atmosphere is PERFECT. For every special occasion, Annie Cafe is always our first choice!
Awesome! Perfectly balanced service, food quality and ambiance. A great overall experience.
Initially when Annie Cafe reopened, the food was good but the service was really bad. This time the food was excellent and the service has significantly improved. Its a hopping place that I will for sure go back.
Not really the restaurant’s fault but, when we arrived, there was a large group of young mom’s with their children and the children were out of control. The kids disturbed many in the area, with some dinners choosing to be sat in a different area. The mother’s did not do anything to keep the kid’s from running and climbing around the area, not to mention the noise. Fortunately they were done by the time we were eating our appetizers. If not for that, I would have rated this 5 stars.
Love the restaurant, food was delicious and the place was nice
Delicious food and great service
Delicious food, attentive service, beautiful surroundings
Ceasar Salad was not up to par for this restaurant all the rest was
We enjoyed the hospitality so much. Meal was terrific. Service impeccable and we appreciated the lovely dessert they sent over to help us celebrate.
Used to eat at Cafe Annie dating back to the early 90’s
New concept didn’t disappoint but the duck was not what we expected and came out cold.
However the owners made it right and were very apologetic and accommodating.
The appetizers, soup, scallops and fish were fantastic.
Our server was very friendly and professional!!!
Will definitely be back!!
The waiter kept cleaning our table in between us while we were talking very rude
Beautiful new concept with great food . Wait staff is very attentive & helpful.
We love the new Annie Cafe .
Waiter hovered way too much. My crab was warm, not hot and the seasoning was excessive. Also ordered Two salads with protein for a cost of $60. Just not worth it overall. Too many other exceptional restaurants around
Very much enjoyed interesting food. Kale Salad with apples, bacon, etc very nicely done. Crab cake almost completely fresh crab as waiter promised. Good wine selection. Noise level was more than usual due to a large crowd attending a private event----that spilled out into the dining room until entire party was seated. Manager apologized and offered free dessert.
This is hard to write but no I cannot recommend Annie Cafe at this time. The renovated space is beautiful and really well done. The waiters are attentive. The tortilla soup is still delicious. Those are the only positive things I can say. When we were here Robert Del Grande was out of town and boy could you tell. First, the bread came out and had a very salty taste. To be fair, the next course was the legendary tortilla soup and it was still delicious. Then we had the chicken enchiladas pibil --a lunch entree. The cost is $16 and it is one enchilada cut in two pieces and plated with some cabbage on top. There are no accoutrements. The enchilada was not good. NOT GOOD. The tortilla disintegrated while cutting into it. It felt old and it tasted old. The meat was a combination of white and dark meat. I know some people like that but in Cafe Annie and Bar Annie the chicken flautas (rolled chicken tacos) were high quality white meat. These were not. (The absence of the rolled chicken tacos and the ancho beef nachos is profoundly felt on the menu. We heard from staff that we were not the only ones who have pleaded for their return). We told the waiter our impressions of the food and the cost was removed from our bill which was very very nice but really we just wanted excellent food to enjoy. The dessert was fine, a somewhat dry blueberry lemon cake and a fun plate of cookies, brownies and a glass of milk. The issues with food quality need to be addressed ASAP. Otherwise, I think Houston, already an unforgiving town when it comes to food missteps, will turn its back on this restaurant. Surely when Chef Del Grande is out of town, someone else can step in and make sure the food is fresh, delicious, and generous? Also, again please consider a return of the Bar Annie favorites like the chicken tacos and the ancho nachos. EVERYONE loved them.
It was wonderful, as always! We all enjoyed our lovely meals in your beautiful new space!
I LOVE Annie Café but I don't care!! I am used to the best; and as a native Houstonian I know the BEST in restaurants......Annie's is one of those special places.....trendy....upscale.....on point with today's Houstonian....and the service, food, and ambiance is second to none! So glad they're in my 'hood!
Excellent extensive menu and well prepared and presented dishes!
I have been a true follower of Cafe Annie from there very beginning. The charming Bistro on Westheimer and then the great move to Post Oak and that beautiful space. Fond memories of my 50th Birthday Celebration and many New Years with Robert on a motorcycle. Many Many celebrations and fun times were had there. Will be honest I was not a fan after they made the move and changed the menu to their second location on Post Oak. The original Post Oak was absolutely a special occasion every time you went there and it was almost like your favorite local "corner cafe" They knew you from the very minute you pulled up. (Samir and his staff-nothing but the most professional team in town) but you felt so great to dress up and go out for a special evening at Cafe Annie. (almost a lost art in fine dining anymore) But I am back to being a true fan of the new Annie. The ambience is different but it is a stunning space. There service was great from the minute I pulled up and I was met with a personal greeting from Valet to hostess to table and wait staff and Ben and it was just a great experience. EXCEPT NO BLACK BEAN TURINE....Totally enjoyed and so Happy that Annie is back and of course we all have to keep updating and changing but this is a great change.
Took 1.5 hours from time we ordered to get our food and it was marginal at best.
Bartender was very warm friendly and attentive to our needs.
A very ‘welcome back” to one of the top restaurants in the galleria area. There renovation of the “old Annie” is stunning! This will soon be the most desired table in the Galleria.
Best of everything to a beautiful addition, cheers!
Sat in the bar and received exceptional service from the bartender. Early Saturday lunch. Not crowded.
Awesome food, great desserts and even better decor
Excellent service, food was delicious and we absolutely love the decor of this place!
Fabulous venue, great service and creative yummy food
It was a very lovely New Year’s Eve dinner we had to welcome 2020. The atmosphere and crowd was buzzing. We enjoyed the live music and the dancing. Our wait staff, Yara was amazing and provided us with excellent service.
Unfortunately with reservations on NewYears Eve we had to stand and wait for our table 55 minutes during that time we were not offered a cocktail or area to sit until I got upset.
We had a reservation at 8:30 bit were seated an hour late. I realize it was New Year’s Eve and they were nice and apologetic but waiting an hour for a reservation is unacceptable. It was not an enjoyable experience
Had an outstanding New Year’s Eve dinner in a great atmosphere for a very reasonable price. We could not have been more pleased.
New Year’s Eve was great! Service & staff were awesome, food delicious & ambiance beautiful thanks so much
We sat at the bar on New Years Eve around 6:30. It was already bustling around the bar area at that time. Cara, the beverage manager and Jose, the bartender/server took great care of us. The drinks were nice and the wine we chose by the glass were good too. The quail was fabulous and the Caeser salad had a nice zing to it. The only thing I thought was a little off were the East Coast Oysters. We felt they were smaller than normal East Coast Oysters and thus they were a bit pricey. Overall it was a very nice start to New Year's Eve.
Wait staff nice but not very professional
Wonderful dinner. One guest had a special request that was dealt with willingly w a smile. Gorgeous restaurant. Always love Cafe Annie❤️
