Dinner was pleasant and the service was very good. Great wine list
Second time at Tesse. The Sunset Hour is an incredible value for delicious food and drinks. The bone marrow bucatini & New York steak are standout dishes. The Normandy butter that accompanies that house made bread is so yummy and I even used it to spread over my warm steak. Service is great and ambiance is beautiful. Really enjoy the music also.
Amazing service and great food. What more to ask of a restaurant? I would come back over and over again!
Excellent service. Excellent cuisine! Raphael the chef is well known for his greatness in numerous restaurants. Absolutely splendid as expected.
It was our first time at Tesse. Thought we would try a new place for Dine LA week. The servers were very attentive and kept checking on us. The food was really good. My favs were the Bucatini with bone marrow and the bone in NT Strip - both were flavorful. The portion size was also good.
Excellent as always
My second time here.. first time I was by myself.. this time I took the kids..so amazing!! Everything was perfect right up to the hot box drink..the lobster sausage..whole branzino..bread out of this world!!
Amazing experience start to finish. The lobster sausage, grilled octopus, and NY strip were fantastic. The Lobster Mac & Cheese was good but not a must have. Our server, Antonio, took great care of us and we never wanted for anything. Can’t recommend this place highly enough and will definitely be back.
Done LA menu
Hamachi highlight is supposed to be hamachi. Couldnt taste it.
The steak flavor was insufficient plus the cook forgot salt existed. The pasta was saltier than the steak.
Pasta was great!
Sticky toffee pudding was the only highlight but there was so little sauce only 3/5 was enjoyable. The rest was just bread...
Server took forever to get the bill and gave us attitude as a result of the 18% tip. I should have gone 10%
We were sat next to a group of girls that literally was from the white chicks movie. So obnoxious and loud.
Servers trying to pass through the corner between my chair and the table next to me was annoying.
Servers couldn't tell that I clearly wasn't enjoying the food when asked. Maybe the no eye contact and no smile on my face should have gave it away? I'd be more vocal next time if there ever is a next.
Very good foods and great drinks. A bit too noisy. We will be back.
We had the best experience at this restaurant!! Our server, Lexington, was amazing and very attentive. Two managers and several server’s assistants checked on our table consistently as well, we were very well taken care of. The food came out super fast and was INCREDIBLE. We had to order two of the hamachi crudo because we loved it so much. I can’t wait to go back!
Went here for Dine LA and Tesse has to be one of my top five restaurants at the moment. I was able to get a reservation at 6:30pm on a Saturday night. They sat us outdoors which was perfect since weather was amazing that day and the sun was getting ready to set. Everything we had on their preset menu was beyond my imagination. I’m still dreaming about the hamachi crudo! I can’t wait to come back!
The Good Bad and The Ugly: The GOOD: Excellent service. Friendly, attentive staff. Very good Bordeaux. Fun place to hang out, especially on the outdoor patio (way to noisy inside). The BAD: This barely qualifies as a French restaurant. Good French wine, camembert and duck, a handful of French items on the menu, and a chef with a French surname barely qualify this place as being a French restaurant. The #5 French restaurant in the city, according to Gayot? Vraiment?! The lobster sausage was interesting but hardly special. The gem salad was anything but, with a strong hummus bed that overpowered every other taste. And the charred cauliflower? I must have been spoiled by eating at Baco Mercat for years, but if you're going to do vegetables it better be memorable. This was one I'd rather forget. As for the entrees, the short ribs had a very nice flavor, but nowhere on that menu did it say anything about my getting pulled or shredded beef—too bad because this dish had promise. As for the bone-in steak, what a disappointment, especially for the price. And since when is a steak cut into slices instead of served whole? It was barely hot served this way. The branzino was nice, but I've had better—much! What can I say? I came with high hopes and an open mind. If this was French "fusion" cuisine, I'd say confusion would be more accurate. The UGLY: Pleas update your online menu, so the prices are the same as those on the menu in the restaurant. Not fair. Perhaps restaurants are charging a little more to make up for loses during the pandemic, just let me know that online.
Had a great experience at Tesse. Definitely a great date scene but the staff was great with our kids. All the food was good but the bread and steak stood out. The cocktails were stellar and it was nice to be able to try wines during dinner and buy the ones you enjoyed at the shop adjacent with a nice discount. Wish there was a place like this near Pasadena. Good energy and we had a lot of fun
Food was impeccably scrumptious , presented beautifully and generous portions to share. The hostess was so happy when greeting us, we felt pampered and loved. Definitely go- we did the LA special and it was worth every penny. Wine and mixed drinks excellent as well.
The short rib sandwich was horrible! Under seasoned and taste like rosemary.
The lobster roll was dry and only had about 2 scoops of lobster. Terrible!
They charged us for a cheese & meat plate that we never got.
I expected more. Very disappointed
Very Loud, didn’t like being sat in between other parties, did like the friendliness of the staff. I tipped like $34 for the service so I must of enjoyed it. For a upscale place, it was good. I don’t normally go to places like that but hey the overall experience was an A+. I’d make it my go to in a pinch if I wanted to impress somebody.
amazing as always :)
Bucatini with Bone Marrow
Definitely do the Bone Luge!
One of the best meals and experiences I’ve had in a long time. Outstanding food and amazing service. If your in the area you need to go.
The food and service was exceptional!
I am over 65 and this place was blasting weird music to the point I could not hear the service people. I asked if they could turn it down and they minimally reduced it. I could not comfortably converse with my husband.
The food was innovative but I was not that impressed withe flavor profiles. I don't recommend this for older people.
We had a delicious Dine LA meal. It was the all the highlights! Great service, attention to Covid, lovely outdoor table! Highly reccomend!
It was great! Only thing that I need to be aware of in the future is that I should ask before being seated that we wanted to order from the Susnet Hour Menu. That particular menu is only available in specific seating in the restaurant. We sat in the dinning menu area, but our waiter quickly moved us and we got to ordering. The food and drinks are amazing and staff are delightful. We felt like valued clients. Will be going back again soon and Definitely recommend!
We came to Tesse for a date night, and we had a good time. The food was tasty, the drinks were very good, and the dessert was divine. The server, Lexington, was awesome! She took great care of us the whole night. Highly recommend.
Everyone we interacted with, the hostess, waiter, busboys, manager were wonderful. Polite and professional. Food was outstanding!
Best dining experience !!!
The outside setting was very nice . We all shared the price fixe dinner except for one who couldn’t order it because we had seven and the prix fixe was for groups of two.The salad was ok. The crude Hamachi was very good. The noodles with marrow ok but not great. The steak entree was tough and very disappointing. The dessert was ok. The staff in the beginning were attentive but disappeared as the evening went on and they forgot the separate entree for the seventh person. They also said they had validated our parking but the machine said otherwise. We would not go back.
Tesse is one of our favorite restaurants in town. The food, design, service and ambience are remarkable and they have recently added a truly beautiful outdoor dining area with a full on city view that is unmatched in town.
Amazing must try. Indoor and outdoor by the hills are both worth the try. The caviar toasts are also a must.
Delicious food, great portion size, attentive staff.
The gem salad and toffee pudding cake were awesome. Hamachi and steak meh
Service was lovely and we liked the atmosphere, but the food was not worth the price or the hype I’d seen in other reviews online. The chef’s choices for the charcuterie and cheese had no balance in their combined flavor profiles, the octopus tasted only of char and smoke, among a multitude of other gastronomic sins for each small plate we ordered after. Save yourself the trouble and buy some nice charcuterie items and wine from the grocery store and plan your own picnic for 1/5 the price.
Our server Cory was amazing. We will be back to see him for sure
It was delicious honestly! I never leave reviews, but this was such good food!
The staff was great, the food was delicious. Would definitely go back!
Food has a very unique character. The recipes are very creative which makes the overall experience out of ordinary in WeHo. The manager is on top of it. We had a trivial incident and the staff and the manager handled it in an extremely professional manner.
What a great meal! Loved it.
Food is decent. Service was BAD. We had to wait 30 minutes for food. Our waiter was mostly out of sight and unavailable.
Great food and drinks as well as service! Outdoor seating had heat lamps and was very pleasant outside. The view could use some landscaping as you could only appreciate it if you where over 6 feet tall.
