Terrace by Mix Mix
Fit for foodies
The wait staff was friendly and attentive. The food was fresh and tastey.
Good food. A bit pricey. Casual, friendly service.
This eclectic can't-miss menu is served by a friendly, efficient and knowledgable staff in a delightful, comfortable and quiet environment. I can't recommend it enough. They successfully transformed French toast (my favorite) from a ho-hum brunch staple to an art form. Love it!
Stunning setting with absolutely delicious food. I highly recommend!
Came in late afternoon pre-dinner for a light refreshment and a dessert. Food was fantastic, waiter was friendly, and general setting was laid back and relaxing. Reasonably priced. And infant in stroller friendly! Had a good time and will definitely come back for their prix fixe menu and chef's tasting menu. You won't regret if you are for fusion food. Hands down my new fave after bazarr by Jose Andres.
Love the food very innovative more than reasonable priced
Excellent service and absolutely delicious food! Chef Devin is amazing! Can’t wait until our next visit.
This was our second visit to Terrace by Mix Mix and we thoroughly enjoyed the 6 course dinner. The appetizers, entrees and the dessert were all great especially the halibut, the duck and the steak.
The food was excellent! In fact, some of the best tasting and more interesting food that we’ve tried in OC. (The last time we were this excited about a restaurant was after trying Taco Maria for the first time). Chef wasn’t even in the restaurant during our visit and every dish was perfectly seasoned, presented at the right temperature and beautifully plated. The duck was divine as were the pork adobo fried rice and chorizo potato croquettes. The ambiance and overall branding (signage and finishes) does not do the restaurant justice. Had I not read the write up in Modern Luxury, I would have continued to pass by the restaurant thinking it was a quick-casual salad concept.
The food is exceptional, the service extremely cordial and prompt. We had a great time and are coming back next week!
This restaurant is a reason to visit South Coast Plaza even if you have no intention to shop Food was delicious and creative. Had the scallops and the agnolotti. Knowledge and attentive service.
For some reason the pork belly was dry, but the shishito peppers were delicious.
Terrace by Mix Mix is one of my favorites. Love the food, service and staff. Everyone is always so friendly - great place
Mix Mix Terrace is awesome!
This was our third visit to Mix Mix Terrace.
What a great spot for lunch--long lunch that went into evening and closed the place down. Stellar service and fantastic food. I'll be back!
Our first time here and the food was excellent. We selected the four course with duck as the entree and other plates were mussels, tostada, roasted mushrooms. All were great although there could be less salt in some items, especially the mussels. The restaurant is tiny with only 5 or so tables inside and 3-4 outside on the patio. There is a patio/lounge chair area outside as well.
The food was amazing! The service was good and the experience was fun. I would love to come back and try their other menu items.
The restaurant is in a nice location and the staff is very friendly. We do wish our waiter had been able to answer more of our questions about the menu (he did come back with the answers later, but we had already placed our order). I can also understand the “no substitution” policy to a point, but if you are not going to allow me to substitute out a turnip then it had better be the best turnip I have ever had and not the tasteless spongy veggie I received.
The chef at Mix Mix is a culinary artist of the hightest level. The food was really terrific, imaginatively presented and lovely prepared. You will never be disappointed with your meal or experience at Terrace by Mix Mix....or at Mix Mix in Santa Ana! Enjoy!!!
Food was outstanding. Service (thank you Alana) was fantastic. We will be back!
Delicious small plates, Excellent house wine selection, and Exceptional service.
Can't wait to go back!
The restaurant is located in the South Coast Plaza side on Bear Street that was formerly known as Crystal Court, on the third floor by the elevator. It was indoor and terrace seating and a modern/minimalist feel with neutral colors. We were early so I can't truly describe the noise level when the restaurant is full, but nice and quiet when we were there. The menu is varied but limited and I think they could do with a few more entrees. I felt the appetizers and small plates were well priced but the entrees seemed high to me. As for the food, I started with the goat cheese toast with sliced grapes, toasted slightly sweetened almonds, micro-greens and a drizzle of EVOO. It is definitely one of the best things I've ever eaten and a generous serving. I went on to have the Raviolo with egg -- a house-made large single ravioli with a perfectly runny egg yolk nestled in a bed of herbed ricotta. I just wish they served it with a spoon (or a single crouton) so I could have scooped up the last bit of egg yolk and ricotta. I swear I was tempted to lick the plate. My last dish was the duck breast with blackberries and served with crispy polenta and roasted turnips (I think). Again delicious. The duck was not as crispy as something like Peking duck, but it was far crispier than any French roasted duck I've had and the fat was nicely rendered. It was done to perfection as was the buttery, light and crispy polenta -- to me, the polenta could also be served by itself as a small plate with a sauce on the side. My companion was well-pleased with the house salad and the agnolotti. She is allergic to tomatoes so, on request, they were kind enough to leave tomatoes out and just add browned butter and parmesan. I tried it and thought it wonderful. I think they are somewhere in between a tapas restaurant and whatever you'd call one that isn't. I was very happy and might just order appetizers and small plates but my dinner companion wanted more choices under entrees.
The location was perfect for alfresco dining at South Coast Plaza. My friends and I went for brunch and the food was equally enjoyable. Notable choices were pork adobo with fried rice, mussels stuffed with longanisa (Filipino style sausage) and cinnamon French toast which was thick, topped with marscapone cheese and not too sweet maple syrup, lardons and fresh blackberries. Service was attentive yet not too intrusive. This is a great place before, between or after shopping, or simply a dining destination.
Great place a girls night out dinner. Food was delicious
We loved the food, service and atmosphere. We tried several different small plates and each were delicious.
We always love coming here with our friends to celebrate. Chris our waiter is awesome. Do not let him go! He’s knowledgeable, funny and knows when to service his customers. We love him!!
Service was haphazard and indifferent. Food was only fair. Brussels Sprouts drowning in sauce; mussels over cooked. Fried rice OK . The only good thing is you can have a conversation since it is quiet, but not a place I would return to.
Perfect for lunch, foods was very good. Will be back
Adventurous fusion food. Some of the dishes were amazing, a couple of them missed. A little pricey, but it’s a beautiful place with excellent service.
Best deal in town
The five of us shared and all dishes ware fantastic
The crudo is the best I ever had Wednesday free wine paring is a steal
Great food with a Filipino flair, pork adobo fried rice was a highlight, the croquettes were extremely popular and also quite good.
We shared the ravioli and the pulled pork tacos which were really good. Definitely will return to try other dishes.
The food is wonderful; fresh unique flavors. I appreciate the $20 price fix lunch; great value.
Great service by Tyler! Well decorated , loved the patio and the food was amazing !!
Strongly recommend this anyone looking for unique and delicious meal, whether lunch or dinner.
We decided to try this restaurant for our anniversary celebration and did the 6 course (chef’s choice) tasting menu with wine pairings. Both of us were very impressed. Plating here for each dish was beautiful with great attention to detail. Taste of each course was very good to spectacular. Wine pairings were very well done. The dishes were one appetizer, four that could easily be main dishes (pasta, salmon, duck and steak) and dessert. The steak in the last savory course was a little chewy but still tasted good. Service was excellent. We enjoyed each presentation and the surprise of them. Thank you for a lovely evening. Looking forward to returning soon.
Awesome food - very innovative
