We came for 2 reasons.. my son turned 13 years old this week and he asked for it. My wife and I am so knew we were here for the fried rice. We were super happy to find out the service and food are as good as the rice. The chef seemed to really love his job and gave us a great show. Only downside is we love teppanyaki meals for special occasions and no one gives a show like this anymore Arizona. Totally worth the trip if staying in Kaanapali.

There are 4 hibachi tables and you need a reservation. The dine for 2 is $169 plus $20 more if you want lobster And drinks are not included. For that price it should be fabulous, but it’s not. Our hibachi chef did a small “show” at the beginning but that was it. He said he was “not into that stuff and his food was way better”...well, it wasn’t or else the others who were entertaining throughout the me must have had really bad food. We had ribeye, filet and lobster and order steak med rare but it was served med well. I sat on the end so could see behind the grill and it was horrendously FILTHY! Have a pic if you want to see. There were two kids at our table (11 and 12) that were disappointed that there wasn’t much of a show. Pretty sure that’s part of the deal when you go to one of these places. But I guess on Maui there’s not a huge draw for these chefs but they sure charge an arm and a leg for the dinner.

Would definitely NOT go back

Da Man and Nick took very good care of us including a birthday hat sundae and song for me would highly recommend. We had the filet and lobster and took enough home for another meal.

The chef had No entertainment skills. That is more than half of the enjoyment of your kind of place. The food was good. Waiter was adequate. We were very disappointed.

Best hibachi ever! This is not your same ole Benehana's. The added spices and sauces enhanced all the flavors. The hibachi vegetables included all the regular veggies with the addition of baby carrots-carmalized. Hibachi shrimp came with a garlic butter sauce and lightly seared pineapple- amazing combo. The filet was also exceptionally prepared with a flavorful sauce. Don't pass on the garlic fried rice- best we have ever had. Our cook's name was "Da Man" and he was truly fantastic-cook and performer.

Tappan on Maui? Yes. Food was good whish they had Shrimp included as a appetizer. Brahada Pitt was awesome worth going just for the show. Keep in mind No mixed drinks so no Island Specialty Lavations . Beer Wines and Sake as well as soda and Ice Tea

I had read some reviews so I had a pretty good idea what to expect. Ambiance is so so, just some Teppanyaki grills in a room. I had heard the hood fans were noisy and that is true. The waiter was trying to upsell everything. Our Chef was excellent. He made the evening for us. He was very friendly and put on a great show. Overall okay. No Benihana but fun if you like to do the teppanyaki thing.

Great restaurant! Slightly on the pricey side, but that is to be expected in an area full of resorts. Fabulous food, and Brad Pitt our grill master was phenomenal. Highly entertaining, skilled, and the food was absolutely delicious. My family and I had a great time. You’ll definitely want to make a reservation

Food is delicious. Cook great and entertaining. Just got too smoky and dark. I needed air and light by the end. But it is delicious, fresh and super fun for kids. Benihana style. No windows when you are seaside was claustrophobic.

Overhead fan was way too loud which made it difficult to hear each other but we felt like the food and presentation was amazing. Also the show was very entertaining as well as the chef and service was great.

Food was not good and quite expensive. Our chef was rather low energy, nothing like the Teppenyaki experience we have had in the past, entertaining and tasty. While I appreciate there is dipping sauce but food were usually very tasty during the cooking process with salt and pepper, the dipping sauce is of optional use. I would not recommend this place at all, there are other alternatives in Maui.

Extremely salty food, everything swimming in oil, butter, teriyaki sauce.
Chef (da man) was fun and entertaining.
Wasted one of our family dinners in Maui on this place, definitely would not recommend.

There’s a great restaurant great food very noisy hard to communicate even with the person next to you.
Very casual, some people in shorts we dressed up didn’t matter everyone had a good time at the table.
Hibachi style dining met some new people.

Cheff Brad Pitt was amazing and so funny!! Food was amazing. We sat at our table alone for 30 min and then had it to ourselves when no one else showed up. Saki, 4 different wines and 2 beers are all that’s available for cocktails. I find that hard to believe when you were at a five-star Sheraton resort.

Our chef was phenominal. Excellent show for adults and children. The vegetables with the fried rice were
outstanding. I recommend getting the fried rice for sure. The filet mignon entree was very good along with the shrimp tempura appetizer. The miso soup and chicken entree needed improvement. The service here was also excellent. We were disappointed that they did not have a full bar, and only served beer, sake, and wine.

I've no idea why this is rated so high for Teppanyaki on Maui. The whole experience was disappointing and overly expensive for what we received.

We made a reservation then received a call from the restaurant warning us that if we were even slightly late they'd cancel it. We've never experienced an actively hostile confirmation of reservation before.

We arrived on time and it turns out "reception" area is an open-air hallway lined with the cloth-draped steam table for the next day's buffet. The hostess came OUT of the restaurant and told us to sit in the few scattered chairs meant for the indoor/outdoor hotel hall.

Once inside, the server taking drink and food orders was weirdly over-jocular. We try to eat teppanyaki on each vacation just for fun, and this behavior was quite strange. Our chef was fine, but completely burned the bacon added to the fried rice, rendering it nearly inedible.

Incongruously, the filet mignon cut was much more flavorful than the rib eye. Usually the filet is more tender and the rib eye more tasty. In this case not only was the rib eye short on flavor, it hadn't been properly trimmed so it was full of sinewy connective tissue. We also had shrimp and scallops, both of which were tasty.

The typical teppanyaki "performance," like the onion volcano, etc., was fairly standard and rote, though well meaning. We heard other tables being forced to cheer and yell "Aloha!" so at least we were spared that. But there was nothing special about our chef except the volcano bit was enhanced by extra "lava" flames.

Usually I don't bother to write reviews, but the high rating for this restaurant seems impossible because it really disappointed in all facets: from reception, check-in, ordering, performance and food.

The tables are simply too small---with crowding of the guests--much small tables than most Japanese Restaurants. Way too much noise also---could not speak with guests due to nearby music and other parties.

Making the reservation was super easy. Staff was so kind especially since my party was late because we had some trouble finding the restaurant. We also had 2 people in our party cancel last minute and the staff accommodated us easily. We were their last table and they were still so friendly. I also work at a restaurant so I know how annoying a very late table can be, so I appreciate their genuine kindness. Server was great, chef was lively and fun, and the food was incredible! 10/10 would recommend! Thank you!

The cook was very fun contrary to the more serious ones I’ve had at other Teppanyaki’s, so for the more interactive experience, I do recommend this as it’s also in the resort. Prices are ok, we had the set menu option, Filet and Lobster were good, and with my wife’s gluten intolerance, whilst she couldn’t have the Miso or Poke, the meal was prepared so that she had no ill effects, and that was the most important part. The only criticism I’d put forward is the somewhat rushed feel of the service which results in small spills of water when glasses are topped up, and the same for the handling of the food which leaves a little bit going to waste. There’s also a better technique for cleaning the hot tables which I’d recommend that the restaurant takes a look at, as it makes things a lot easier for the cook (water/steam with an abrasive cloth and what one could liken to an ironing handle). The sound reading in the room could be better as it was somewhat noisy with each cook having their (very fun I would add) show. No regrets, and if we come back, would certainly do again and we had a special deal which makes the cost a non-issue to be honest. If you stay at the Sheraton, try it out at least once and make sure to book. It’s one of the better Teppanyaki’s thanks to the cooks enthusiasm and jokes (and I’m usually the kind that just wants to eat in silence).

Best to go with a group- we sat with just 2 others and we had minimal interaction so it was boring
Our chef could sense the low energy and disconnect so he basically cooked and could not wait to be done with us. Food was pretty good and portions were decent. We ordered an appetizer but they forgot it which was fine. Overall it was just ok. Other tables seemed to enjoy there time more

Our chef was Braddah Pit and he was great! I am gluten free and he went out of his way to accommodate my request. He cooked my food first to ensure there was no cross contamination and was knowledgeable about what had gluten and what didn’t. My filet was cooked to perfection and this was the best meal I’ve had on this island during my time here. I will be back for sure! Very happy customer here!

My first time and my last! First of all our directions took us somewhere 10 minutes away. When we got to the restaurant our waiter was very unfriendly and rushed us into ordering 5 minutes into sitting down. My mom asked the waiter for ice tea and he told us they didn’t have any. This restaurant is at a hotel and you’re telling me you don’t have ice tea. Then he made a huge deal about going to room service to get my mom Perrier. Horrible service and the food was just okay. The food had WAY too much butter and salt it could give someone cardiac arrest! Also, the restaurant is extremely tiny. When you over $100 for a meal I expect a better experience. PS. Their wine selection is horrible. My mom ordered a merlot wine that she didn’t even drink it.
