We can't visit London without going to Tamarind. Again, we had exceptional food and exemplary service. Rajat Gupta, the manager. took care of us and was the perfect complement to an already fantastic evening. He is the best brand ambassador for Tamarind. Friendly and accommodating with great stories and information around the different dishes. My only regret is that Tamarind took their exquisite pakoras off the menu; otherwise, exceptional - once again.

This is my favorite Indian restaurant and I always go here when I’m in London. Food is delicious, drinks are strong and service is great!

Our lunch experience at Tamarind was fantastic. Every dish we sampled was so unique and flavorful. This was one of the best meals we’ve had during our many trips to London. Highly recommend.

I honestly cannot express how absurdly disappointing my experience at this restaurant was. I came with high expectations—especially given the price point, the so-called Michelin status, and the automatic 15% service charge—but what unfolded was nothing short of ridiculous. The food itself was decent, but the service? A complete and utter shambles that ruined the entire evening. From the moment we ordered, it was already off to a rocky start. We were told that the food might come out at different times—which, as someone familiar with Indian dining, I could understand to a degree. But nothing could have prepared me for just how chaotic and senseless the experience would be. My guests and I (a group of four) very clearly told the waitress that we wanted our food to come out together—or at the very least, as closely together as possible. She agreed without hesitation. And yet, what followed was frankly laughable. My lobster and kebabs arrived a full ten minutes before anything else—so I sat there watching my food get cold while waiting for the rest to arrive, hoping in vain for a unified dining experience. Then came the curry, sea bass, and chops—but without a single grain of rice or even a piece of roti. Just dishes, sitting awkwardly on the table, getting colder by the minute, while we waited for the basics that would actually allow us to eat the food. When the rice finally arrived, it was one tiny portion—barely enough for one person, let alone four starving adults. It felt like we were being rationed during a crisis. We were so hungry, we started eating without the roti or extra rice, which, considering the naturally spicy nature of Indian cuisine, was just painful. Eventually, after most of the meal was gone, my roti showed up—along with the daal—long past the point of enjoyment. And still, we were missing a rice. When we complained, the waitress assured us it was coming. Another seven minutes went by before it finally appeared. By then, we were just exhausted

We weren’t expecting the incredible experience that is Tamarind. A good Indian meal convenient to our hotel - that was the hope. But from the moment we entered this lovely restaurant, everything just got better and better. The cocktail selection is amazing, the service attentive and warm - then there is the food. We began with a compressed watermelon salad that we gave 4 stars to. Who would have thought the combination of watermelon, grapes, olives and all these spices would work so well. There are various options for dining, so my husband and I selected small dishes. Two samosas in a coronet, two grilled chicken kebabs, three grilled artichoke hearts, two grilled prawns - each beautifully presented and so good. The main - a lamb curry with rice and naan on the side. Sounds like so much, but yet manageable - you just wanted to try everything. We accompanied all this with sparkling water and a bottle of Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc. Definitely one of the best meals we’ve ever had! And should note, none of these dishes were standard Indian fare - this was elevated artful cuisine!

Excellent lunch for two. The traffic from Waterloo was so bad that we were over 30 minutes late. Nobody minded, and we were warmly welcomed and enjoyed a wonderful meal in a quiet corner. We discovered an exciting menu full of choice which was good value for money.
