What a find! We’ve been to a lot of excellent sushi restaurants including those with Michelin stars and this is really high quality, creative sushi with great staff. Unpretentious, unassuming, and quiet. This might be our favorite sushi restaurant in San Diego and the friends we brought agreed. We tried the Umakara Edamame and Tako Wasa (octopus) for appetizers and the both were excellent but especially loved the Tako. We followed with the Hamachi Special, Prime Tacos, La Jolla and Fiesta rolls, Salmon Oshi, and the Sushi Set. All really good but the prime tacos are particularly notable and a must try. We will definitely be adding this to our list of favorite eats and be back!

Love the experience as soon as you arrive you’re greeted swiftly and seated at your table. The atmosphere is very Japanese. The food is absolutely beautiful. We had sushi which was over the top delicious! Service was incredible. The chef has experience at Michelin star establishments. And it shows in the pride of his menu.
