Our mission at Tahona is to educate and give reverence to the complexity and beauty of the Mexican culture through its most iconic beverage, mezcal and to become an epicenter of mezcal culture in San Diego. Our team has selected over 140 kinds of mezcals and our tasting experiences are meant to be fun and educational. Our tasting room is meant as a place of exploration that will allow you to expand your knowledge about agave spirits and what makes Mezcal so unique! It is important to note that we do not offer food in the tasting room unless for private buyouts.

Our mezcal tasting room also acts as a private dining space as it is connected to our restaurant Tahona. From a private 4 course mezcal paired dinner to large group mezcal tastings, we love hosting large parties. The environment, food, service, and the mezcal tasting was superb. The owner was awesome! Excellent customer service. I highly recommend especially the mezcal tasting.

We loved everything about this place. The food was outstanding the mezcal tasting fun and informative and the service was excellent as well. Can wait to go back.

Great time with our agave educator Tempeste in the tasting room. She knows her stuff and does a great job explaining the production process, species, tasting notes, etc. The space and restaurant are amazing. Highly recommend!

We were 4 for the Bar-Mezcal Tasting Room, we tried I total of eight mezcals. The guide explained about the history, procedure and regions of the mezcals we were tasting, but I would have liked that the explanations also include the technical points on how to drink it or taste the mezcal. Overall, it was very enjoyable but I do think even with the Groupon the pricing is a bit high.

Very reasonably priced flights of mezcal. The bartender was incredibly knowledgable, and we learned so much!
