Visited for Lunch 6/12/19. I finally made the trip to try out one of only two Michelin stared restaurants in Orange County. A taco shop, no less. Needless to say, I had high expectations. When I entered, I knew instantly I would eat on the patio. It was a warm day and the fire in the cooking station left the room stifling. I had the Caesar salad, which was good, crisp cool lettuce in a lemony Caesar dressing. The iced tea was also great with lots of ice just how I like it. I then moved on to the mains, a pork cheek taco and a Fried fish taco. I bit into the fish taco and the fish was crisp on the outside and moist on the inside just as it should be. The cabbage was fresh, and the citrus added a nice refreshing bite. But then, what is that? An aftertaste of something burnt. It couldn’t be the fish; it was a beautiful golden color, but the taste was there. It seemed as though it had been cooked in oil where something had burned before. Ah, disappointment. So, I moved on to the pork taco. The pork was also nicely crisp on the outside and tender on the inside and the green salsa was also good. Unfortunately, the salsa was so overpowering, it totally masked the flavor of the pork (the star of this show). Argh, disappointment. I will now discuss the blue corn tortillas that was used for both tacos. I love corn tortillas. At least I love good corn tortillas. But when I bit into these, it was like I was biting into a medium density foam rubber. They were rubbery! Argh, disappointment. Finally, during the meal I asked for a refresh on the tea. Because of all the ice, it went quickly. I was informed there are no refills and I would need to get another at full cost. That was $8.00 for probably 6 to 8 ounces of tea. Argh, robbery.

This place is awesome. Don't expect ordinary Mexican food. The pork belly tacos are the best!
