Located canal side at the foot of Hackney's Broadway Market, Sune is a bustling and beloved neighbourhood restaurant, which combines ambitious cooking and exceptional seasonal produce with warm & generous hospitality.

We benefit from a beautiful sun-lit terrace which gets light throughout the afternoon and large windows which open fully in the warmer months to create a light, al fresco space. With curtains, low lighting and candles to bring cosiness when the temperatures drop.

By night, lights are lowered and volume raised for a buzzy, convivial and intimate vibe.

We serve dishes mainly inspired by Southern Europe and the Mediterranean and also a decadent Sunday Brunch menu with a strong focus on seafood.

Good but too much pricy for the quality. Be careful with the wines, they’re overpriced. Music too loud

Eaten here before a few times and loved it. Unfortunately we didn’t have the best experience this time. The wine recommendation was really poor - an £80 bottle of white which tasted more like orange and had a ‘funk’ to it that the waiter didn’t mention. I struggled to drink it but given he’d opened the bottle, I didn’t feel I could say anything. Some of the dishes were lovely - bread, scallop, pigs head croquettes. Disappointed by the lamb main as the sweetbreads were soggy and had the same look and taste of the pigs head starter - felt like I’d eaten a lot of fried stodge by the end. The waiter recommended salad and potatoes sides but the lamb already came with salad which he didn’t mention, so it was far too much food. Ambience as always was great.

The staff are always super warm, welcoming and engaging here. The food speaks for itself and is incredible but this place differentiates itself from the pack in London by buying authentic people that show they care and have a passion for what they do.

I have been there before and had a great time, and was also offered wine tasters before choosing what to drink. This wasn't to be the case this time which was OK. However, it is unacceptable to order many dishes and having to wait almost 1 HOUR for the main dish to arrive, with the excuse that "it is a big piece of meat". I won't be coming back

Such a great dinner here! Really delicious food (the scallops and the pork chop were highlights, but it was all fantastic), beautiful wine and excellent service. Perfect location at the end of Broadway Market, with outdoor seating for when the suns shining! I’ve been meaning to visit since it opened and it didn’t disappoint. Looking forward to returning for brunch / lunch soon.

Super friendly and attentive service from multiple servers. Really personable and family-run feel. Food was spot on and great wine recommendations. Charlie seemed genuinely happy to have us, like he was inviting him into his home - a handshake as we departed was a small but warm gesture. “See you next time.”
