Great meal and service. The reduced menu did not have chicken as entree but the kitchen was able to work around and provide chicken entree.
Great ambiance but our food was over cooked. Great service.
We went to Sullivan’s for the first time on our 36th anniversary. We loved the “feel” of the place. The food was great and the service was fantastic. They took our picture and gave it to us with a handmade card. We will definitely return!
I had noted it was our anniversary in the open table reservation and Sullivans made it very special. Took our picture and gave us an Anniversary Card with the photo. Lovely evening. Best calamari (and filet mignon) I've ever eaten.
We had a wonderful anniversary meal. Great service from Mattie. The food was excellent and the portions were plentiful. The seafood sampler appetizer was phenomenal. The steaks were the best we've had in a restaurant. Even with all the restrictions they made the place feel welcoming. It is expensive but a great treat and decent value.
Steak and other food not as good as comparable restaurants. Service was slow even with the restaurant operating on limited capacity.
One glass of Merlot was $22! Waitress said they had Mil discount - they DON'T!!!
We had a wonderful experience at Sullivan’s. Our server was very knowledgeable and prompt. They did a great job of making sure everything was clean and sanitized. The food arrived in a timely manner and was delicious. They were also very good at making sure our drinks were never empty.
Sullivan's has the best steaks cooked perfectly every time!
We were very disappointed in our visit to this restaurant. My husband got the bone-in ribeye and it took them three tries to cook it to medium rare. You would think a "steakhouse" would be more consistent. By the time it was cooked correctly, the side dishes were cold (over 20 minutes). Also, we asked for the "house Chardonnay" and were shocked when the bill had each glass of wine for $22. Lastly, the creme brulee was burnt. Overall, the food and service was average - not what you would expect from a restaurant like this. It was our second time going and both times we left underwhelmed. We will not be returning for a third experience.
Sullivan's has been our favorite go to place for many years for special occasions like anniversaries, Valentine's Day, etc. It's pricey - expect to pay $100 per person if you get drinks and dessert. They are doing a fine job under the current corona virus circumstances of keeping the tables distanced. It has a nice side effect, actually, that's it's nice and quiet in there now (until normal circumstances it can be a little loud, which is the only minor knock I have on the place at all).
Some tables have been removed in compliance with COVID19 guidelines, and waiters wear masks. We never felt unsafe. The food was magnificent, as always. Great for date night!
Food was Amazing! Our server was a dream!
The atmosphere was absolutely amazing. Our server Steve and the Manager on Duty were both excellent. The food consensus by all 5 party members was mediocre at best. The quality could have been better. We were the table with the 5 members that Steve did an AMAZING table side trick.
I would like to bring my team back but the quality of food needs to be better. Hopefully, Sullivan's can make this experience right.
Overall great experience and I would return. I’m kind of upset that I hadn’t heard of this restaurant sooner.
The food was outstanding the service was mediocre the server never ask for more drinks we have to ask for water very disappointed
The restaurant was under staffed and maybe that is to be expected during Covid. Service was slow. Food was really good. I had a 12oz Filet which was excellent.
We had a great experience. All the food was great and the service was amazing. We ordered the crab cake to start. It was more of a crab salad but I really enjoyed it. It tasted light and fresh. My husband ordered a Caesar salad and I ordered the shrimp and lobster bisque. Both were good. The filet was definitely the star of the meal. Cooked perfectly with a beautiful sear. The sides were just okay. We ordered the asparagus, Brussels and garlic mash. I expected them to have move flavor. Nothing changed my life. We ordered the banana foster bread pudding and it was delicious. We don’t normally order desserts when we go out. But we’re glad we did.
Everything from beginning to end even with Covid-19 going on was Superb!!
Wife’s birthday, just the two of us. Reservation for 830, finally sat after 9. I get it, 50% occupancy because of the pandemic. Fine, not in a hurry. Only one place setting on the table “I’ll go get you silverware” 40 minutes later the silverware arrives only after our app had arrived. The main course came out it was decent at best. Cooked decently but not prepped well, my strip steak had nasty tendons running through it that should have been cleaned up before it was cooked or tossed in the garbage. I could have made the same meal at home to a higher standard for a fraction of the price. It wasn’t just me who was unhappy with the quality, an entire table behind us was complaining about food and service and ended up not paying the bill. And I’m assuming it’s absurd to think the waitress would at least offer my wife a cake or at the very least say happy birthday, needless to say I won’t be going back not that an establishment like Sullivan’s would care or notice.
Waited an hour and half after our reservation to get a table, then it took other hour to get our dinner; and once it arrived it was not hot. I am sure some of the issue was due to limited staff, but did not expect the service level to fall that much
The menu was very paired down, but the salmon and NY Strip were both great. They were extremely understaffed, so the service was lacking, but we were just grateful they were open and trying to serve their customers safely.
As usual, great food and great service. It was quieter than usual due to the reduced seating, but other than that a typical great dinner at Sullivan's. I usually order the 8 oz. filet, but this time I went with the 16 oz ribeye. It was done perfectly, just the right amount of crust on the outside and a perfect medium- rare inside. My wife's filet was great as well. Topped off with their great Key Lime Pie, it was a fantastic meal.
Food and service were as good as always. Disappointing that using a limited menu although many of the old favorites were still there. Did a good job spreading out the tables to promote social distancing and the majority of staff wore masks and some wore gloves.
Had a great dinner. Staff was wonderful and food was scrumptious. Ribeye cooked to perfection!!!
Everything was great exceptional felt awful for one of the poor waitresses made to wear a face mask who has asthma. I would like for the staff to not be required to wear them at all especially if they have a condition that makes it even more unsafe
This is the greatest restaurant in Raleigh.
Restaurant was overcrowded for the current CDC warnings regarding density. Restaurant needs to enforce a more appropriate limit on number of guests during the current crisis.
This place is excellent in every way. The food is outstanding, and the service is even better. They go out of their way to make you feel well taken care of and extremely important. It was our 1 year anniversary, and the hostess, server, and manager acknowledged it at different points of the night.
Service was excellent! We had a great time and could tell that they were taking precautions during this crazy time!
Steak was good. My husband had a lobster tail. It was cold and chewy. Service was ok. Mac and cheese was thick and a bit cold.
Normally it’s a good experience for us.
A special occasion spent over $600 for 4, the food was wonderful also great drinks however... it was a busy Saturday night and we had a new waitress who did the best she could but did not seem to have much back up nor did we get water throughout our meal. The food seemed rushed since meals were coming out before salads were gone. For a special occasion and the money we spent we expected a little bit more than what we got. Next time we visit, which we will, we will sit in the bar and enjoy the calamari because man THAT was amazing!
JK was a fabulous server. Great traditional steakhouse fare
We had a reservation at 7:45 and we arrived at 7:10, understanding that our table wasn’t ready we went to the bar to have a drink. We were not served a drink until 7:25 but had a text that our table was ready at 7:20. There were a lot of people in the bar eating there so the service was poor. We did enjoy the live entertainment so we stayed until 7:40 to enjoy our drink. When we came out to get our table it had been given away. They seated us as quickly as possible by 7:45. Our waitress was new and had to many tables to manage ours. We finally got drinks about 8:15 and a loaf of bread at 8:30. Everything thereafter was late and just poor service. Expensive meal for a poor experience.
Waiter, Michael made our date night special and we thank him for his attention and kindness -dinner was delicious!
Food was outstanding. Service was very good. Table was a little cramped and noisy. Overall... very good
Good food. Steak cooked perfectly the first time! Service was slow for a week night that wasn’t heavy.
