Food is always good. What needs improving is the service.
I realize this night was very busy & you should have more servers working, 20 minutes for the appetizer & another 15 for the wine. Paying Apprx $250.00 per person I except
I was a little nervous coming back to Sullivans, with the knowledge it was under new management. But it was just as swanky and special as always. Great cocktails, wonderful service, incredible food offerings. The only thing that was not up to 5-star was my New York Strip Steak. I ordered the 'house hand cut' strip, cooked medium. Well, it came out well done, with some burnt edges. As well, when I pay for a $45 steak, I'm expecting at least a 3/4" - 1" thickness. No less than what I can buy and cook myself at Costco or Sams Club. This steak was a mere 1/2", and coupled with the mistake of overcooking it, it was not up to par. By that point in the dinner, I was too stuffed with cocktails, appetizers, the delicious table bread, salad and soup course to wait for a correction. I just ate half and brought the rest home. Will we come back, yes! But I probably won't order the steak unless I know it's a thick, juicy cut.
Wife’s steak was not cooked correctly. By the time hers came back out my daughter and I finished eating so out steaks would not get cold. But still paid full price. But I would still tell people to go here. Nice place.
My whole family managed to get together for dinner and I’m so glad I had the idea to go to Sullivan’s! The food was exceptional! I loved my lamb chops, and the sides are a move size to share. The server was enthusiastic and very detailed in explanation of the menu and our questions. I was overall very pleased w my experience!
We had a nice time but they were out of so many different things on the menu. They said it was because of the Valentine's Day weekend and they were waiting for a delivery but it was Wednesday night... Seems like they should have been able to get an order in some time between Sunday and Wednesday. Also, our servers were very nice but the pace of service was incredibly slow. Overall, it was a nice time by our group but I think the management failed that night with respect to managing proper inventory levels and having enough staff on to serve their patrons.
I’ve eaten here many times. This night there was server training throughout. Not the level of service I have come to expect for a $250 meal (two people). Servers didn’t clean or set table correctly. Did not serve food properly.
Our server JK was amazing
Went for a late Valentine's Day. Environment was nice, server was very attentive, and food was really good. Loved our cocktails.
Considering the restaurant was medium-busy, it was quiet and our service was very good. The food was excellent and overall we had a lovely experience. We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and our server delivered our dessert on a silver tray with "happy anniversary" written out on the tray.
Great experience as always at Sullivan’s
Food was cold and took forever.
We booked on open table having eaten there many times over the years- one of our favorites in Raleigh. We were there on Saturday evening Feb 15. We usually order the prefix meal @ $49 and saw when we booked that was still a menu option. However when we went to order - although on the printed menu - we were informed they were not serving that option that evening instead they had a special menu where the prefix entree was $79. We had our son and his wife with us and had traveled into town to take them out for dinner. I was very disappointed in this outrageous charge because of Valentine weekend. Having spoken with several friends about this we have decided there are enough fine dining restaurants in Raleigh to eliminate Sullivan’s.
Great service and the food was delicious. The main problem that we encounter was that we were forced to do the Valentines Day option and it was not Valentines Day. Typically we do the signature option, but was told we could not do it. There was a difference of almost $30 per meal. The food and service is always great, but don’t force your customers to pay more due to greed.
The price for the service and food that we received was more than it should have been. I had a better experience at Second Empire...IJS, being perfectly honest.
Great atmosphere with quiet dinning! Food was excellent and cooked perfectly. Service was good although they had forgot one thing. Highly recommend.
Steak was very overdone. Asparagus was dry and the ends weren’t cut off. Food is not good for the price you pay. Disappointed.
The food was delicious and the service was superb. This was our first visit and we will definitely be back.
Amazing! Food, service, and atmosphere was great! We will definitely go back!
Nice environment. Excellent service. Very good steaks but sides only average. 3 to 4 $ price. Overalll, definitely will come back for special occasions.
Our waiter, Steven Kerry, made the experience fantastic! He was very engaging and personable. The restaurant was nice with a good ambiance inside.
Our waiter was fantastic.
Great atmosphere wonderful food. Great for special occasions.
We had a wonderful early Valentines Day/10 year anniversary celebration! Our table had rose petals on it, which was a lovely touch and sweet surprise. We also got complimentary dessert and a Polaroid photo to take home to commemorate the evening. We loved the crab cakes, filet mignon, mac and cheese, and cheesecake as well as the garden salad. The fresh oysters were very small, therefore we likely won’t get them again. The service was fantastic too!
Excellent Meal prepared as requested. Service was excllent.
Food was good but the bathroom was dirty. More attention needed for the total cleanliness of the restaurant.
Not a restaurant to book on a budget, but if you can stomach a $100 per person average ticket you will not likely be disappointed. Everything you expect to be great on the menu is. The portions are generous. The wine list is very nice (although more expensive than any restaurant we visit regularly. For example a bottle of wine we buy locally for $8.67 per bottle is $38 at Sullivan's. Normally wine is double retail at a restaurant. The bar is fun when its busy.
Outstanding service. Delicious food. Would recommend and will return.
My food came out late , But the server was amazing . There was a large party next to us that was really loud and drunk , but besides that food was amazing and great and I can’t stress enough my waiter was amazing overall wonderful night ...
The restaurant was busier than we’ve ever seen, and we had to wait thirty minutes for someone to take our order. The food is as amazing, as always, though. The noise level was VERY high, as always. Wish they could do something about that (improve the acoustics?). With all that said, we will return because of the food.
Great food and service.
Best steak in town. It was better than Angus Barn and for those of you looking for a vegetarian option they do offer one that’s not listed on the menu, just ask your server.
I absolutely love Sullivan’s! THE BEST STEAKHOUSE IN RALEIGH HANDS DOWN!!! They participate in restaurant week so i took my boyfriend on a date there (as it was his first time going). Mind you I had already been once that week with my mother!!! I had to come back. I got a 16oz ribeye which came with mashed potatoes and green beans and I add the Gorgonzola Garlic butter!!! A GAME CHANGER!!! I usually get the Cajun butter but I think I have a new favorite. The steak was soooo juicy. The portions were hefty! I love this restaurant! Can’t wait to come back for Valentine’s Day!
Our family had a wonderful time at Sullivan's Steakhouse. We couldn't have asked for a better experience, we loved the food. There was nothing bad about this place at all, very kind and friendly people. We will definately be returning for another steak dinner!
Great service and fantastic food. Definitely worth the money!!
Our 1 year wedding anniversary! Always such a great time at Sullivan's. Fabulous food and the service was excellent even though the place was packed.
Enjoyed a family dinner Sullivan's. It was Restaurant Week so the restaurant was very busy. My dinner was outstanding. The wait for drinks from the bar was a little long but I'm assuming that was because the restaurant was very busy.
Great!! Cheesesteak Egg Rolls were amazing!!! Ribeye was cooked to perfection.
Very nice dining experience. Food was cooked well and service was great. Can be on the pricey side but worth the quality.
Amazing dinner and our server Trey was beyond perfect!
