From the OpenTable editors: Originally from Torreon, Mexico, Eater Austin’s 2018 chef of the year and 2024 James Beard semifinalist Fermín Núñez celebrates his passion for handmade masa at Suerte. It’s the foundation for tacos, tostadas, and more stuffed with everything from duck carnitas to goat barbacoa and drizzled with a host of salsas. True to laidback Austin, it’s all served in a space with light woods and exposed brick walls alongside plenty of mezcal cocktails and natural wine.

Every meal at Suerte is always amazing - the drinks, food, space - Texas hospitality at its finest with incredible elevated authentic Mexican food….Alex the manager makes you feel welcomed and part of the Suerte family. A must visit for locals and tourists alike - and yes, the suadero tacos are as good as you’ve heard!

Notes from two large men with hearty appetites: Order the Small Plates. My favourite was the maguey smoked goat. Outstanding. Share everything. The Don Dario marg and Nada Paloma were refreshing and packed a punch.

As always, the food, drinks, and service at Suerte were excellent. If you haven't been, GO. And special thanks to staff who helped change our outdoor table to indoor after I became paranoid following our completely insane weather this week!

I visit from out of town at least once a year. Food was amazing, everything came out on time, and server was really nice. The guacamole and suadero tacos are always a hit. However we were only checked in once the whole time. We had to get up and ask for the check at the end of the night. That is about the only room for improvement on my end. To be fair, the server was busy and had around 6 tables at once.

Can’t say enough great things about this spot. The goat barbacoa keeps us coming back. They also have a solid mocktail.
