Always a great, fun experience at Stock Hill—the most beautiful restaurant in KC. Always made to feel special and the food is superb!
Always an amazing experience at Stock Hill! Best steaks in Kansas City!
The table next to us was extremely loud. We were unable to carry on a conversation.
I have dined at Stock Hill many times before, and the steak keeps me coming back. HOWEVER, this may have been my last visit. While the steak was prepared exactly as ordered and it was delicious, the service left much to be desired. The night started out fine with a friendly hostess and waitstaff. But before we were done with our meal, we were asked by both the hostess and one of the waitstaff to box up our leftovers. Moments later a dessert we did not order (we weren’t even given the option to view the dessert menu) arrived along with our check. No offer for additional wine or after dinner drinks. No offer of anything. Just a random dessert, which we would not have ordered - we don’t like passion fruit - and the check. It was like a swift kick in the pants. We arrived after the table next to us (and several others), yet all of those people were not being rushed out. We had plans to order more than one dessert plus several after dinner drinks. We had already spent over $300 for a table of two. Why on earth would they want us to leave? We were very quiet, polite, no complaints about anything. I’m just baffled at why they treated us this way. Normally I rave about Stock Hill, and I’ve brought several friends and family members to share in the usually wonderful experience. But now my husband says we will never return due to the way we were treated. It just doesn’t make sense. So, my advice is to try this place, and hopefully you’ll enjoy jt. But if you’re rushed out like we were, say something. There’s no excuse for a nice place like this to be rude to its customers.
Sides cost extra. Service was really good and attentive. Great atmosphere and good drinks
Amazing service. Ordered the kc strip and it was perfection. Gorgeous inside. A bit loud but still enjoyable!
Awesome one of the best restaurant in KC highly recommended
Such cute place! We were seated 9n the second floor overlooking beautiful bar area. The menu was creative and the food delicious. Great service too!
Very good experience! We had a great birthday celebration.
Service was poor. Noise level was excessive. Food was under cooked. Requested manager to call and have yet to receive a call.
Food and ambiance was amazing! Service left room for improvement.
The service was exemplary, in a comfortable yet stylish setting. Steaks and seafood were enjoyed by all at our table. The live music contributed to a wonderful experience.
In town for chiefs-bills game & looking for a great steak dinner. Stock Hill did not disappoint! Service & food were excellent.
Excellent service in a cool atmosphere. Steaks were cooked perfectly. There were too many good choices to limit this to a one time visit. Had the wagyu ribeye, wife had black angus fillet and had the spatzle and risotto as sides. Food was amazing, definitely pricy. This is a special occasion place but well worth it. Will visit again
Excellent service, food, and atmosphere! We were celebrating a birthday and the staff had a birthday card waiting for us when we arrived. An extra nice touch.
Regular diners at Stock Hill — usually a party of 8 — never disappointed. The quality of steaks, lamb chops, salads, various appetizers, and wine and cocktail options are enticing enough to keep us coming back. Service is usually good, on Saturday, October 9, 2021, with Gary it was exceptional. Thanks for another delightful dining experience.
Drinks were good but the food was very average. Regarding service, there were many missteps that should not take place. They gave one of our drinks to the wrong table, we received the wrong steak, steak wasn’t cooked properly. The second time we received the steak it was under seasoned and lacked flavor (didn’t eat most of it). The shrimp cocktail was also very average and seafood gratin barely contained seafood… The atmosphere is the only thing really positive that stood out.
I really like this restaurant, but it seems to have gotten pretty expensive. My wife and I had a nice: dinner, drinks, and appetizers for a price of nearly $270 with tip.
The atmosphere is upscale trendy and the people watching is great. We will definitely be back, but the cost is a little on the high side.
Best steak house in Midwest. Clearly a “special occasion” dining experience. Will routinely visit for that special date
Our waiter, Gary, really went the extra mile for our birthday celebration. He was cordial and helpful, and even brought flowers and a candle to our table to help mark the occasion. When our dinner was complete, we asked if we could buy the flowers to take home, and he offered them as a gift! What a special evening!
Stock Hill is clearly a well thought out restaurant. The building is beautiful with great views. We had dinner at 7:30 on a Tuesday so the seating was not close to full and the noise level was pretty good as expected. All the food we had was great. The only criticism I would have is there was a birthday celebration a few tables over and having wait staff sing happy birthday to the patron seemed beneath this level of eatery. I expect that at Dave and Busters but not at a place as Stock Hill.
We celebrated our 25th anniversary with SH. The food and service was amazing. SH went above and beyond to make us feel special. I had the halibut and it was delicious. We will be returning!
We had to wait 10-15 minutes before waiter came to table. Received wrong bill- way less then our meal. Took 20 minutes and a trip to find the manager to get the corrected bill. Manager honestly acted like no big deal. Food was great!
In our party, there was a long amount of time between our waitress visits, which caused a lot of empty glasses. Very long wait from ordering food to receiving food (around an hour, and at least 30minutes after finishing up salads). With the cost of the steaks, expect to be cooked as expected, where one was over cooked and other was under. Didn’t want to send back and be there another hour. Live music was alright, it was mellow and not loud enough to make difficult to hear. Don’t know if there is a dress code at this place, but seeing people in sweat suits and sports bras are trashy. Was very disappointed in this visit after a perfect visit the last time a date night was had there. Was very excited about returning to be let down and question whether or not to go back again.
This past Friday was our second venture to Stock Hill. It was as consistent as the first. The entire experience for us as well as our guests was phenomenal. I want to give special thanks to the outstanding staff as well: Matt, Hussein, Travis and Elizabeth - Thank you for making this a special place. We'll be back for sure!
Once again I give Stock Hill a chance and am disappointed. I ordered the Tomahawk special. Ordered it medium rare. The steak arrives rare. We send it back. It comes back medium on some parts and still rare on the others. It blows me away that not one manager came by and apologized for the issue. This is another reason I got to Capital, Eddie Vs and Rye. They would have made it right by taking care of the issue correctly or give some type of discount. Unfortunately I’m done with StockHill. I’m tired of inconsistent cooking of steaks
Went here for our anniversary and they were very accommodating. They made sure to make our experience a memorable one. Gary, our server, was fantastic. He took his time to explain the menu and wine options. We had a great time and would recommend this restaurant for a fine dining adventure.
Food quality and experience continues to decline, not sure they’ll get back to where they were a few years ago.
Stock Hill has always been a great place to visit and they have always lived up to the high expectations they set for themselves.
I would recommend it to any of my friends or business clients as a place to stop by when they are in the Kansas City area.
Made our anniversary special with champagne and dessert
