Our dedication to serving internationally inspired dishes with Omaha flavor is also represented in our name. “Stirnella” stems from the Nebraska state bird, the Meadowlark genus and species Sturnella neglecta. The name represents the desire to create and continue to evolve, while staying true to Nebraska roots.

I have ordered their hamburger many times. It’s usually excellent. But this time I found that it was extremely salty and over cooked. The french fries we’re not freshly cooked. They didn’t include the burger sauce and ketchup they gave me wasn’t that much. I know they’re going to be shutting down, but they don’t need a phone it in

Our meals were poorly prepared and service was less than satisfactory. I regret having returned to a place that we had great meals at previously Bedford they closed.

Love this place and so sad it’s closing! It was a regular spot for us to visit, especially if we had out of town guests. We’re really going to miss it!

Absolutely outstanding food. We’ve dined here about a half dozen times and never had a bad experience. Because everything has been delicious in the past, we took heavy guidance from our attentive waitress and chose as appetizers the shisheito peppers and the roasted Brussels sprouts— utterly amazing— and roasted squash / oyster mushroom agnolotti and a mouthwatering (even now in memory) short rib sandwich that is the best version of short ribs I’ve ever had. For dessert we tried the famous gooey butter bar which was made over the top by the Nutella ice cream. Just go. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth every penny. Just go.

Server was fantastic, very attentive. Party going on in the back room with kids screaming... it would have been great if they closed that door. Food good. Brussel Sprouts fantastic.

We had a very nice dinner, all four of us. I had a wedge salad and added scallops The table shared two appetizers. The deviled eggs and the brussel sprouts were both great. The other three members of our party had three different types of pasta.

I'm from out of town and stumbled onto this neighborhood gem. I came twice in two days. Excellent food and bar program. Don't miss the sweet corn fritter or the patty melt. House made fries are great and Brussels sprouts are amazing and not deep fries.

We had to sit at the bar after making a reservation for a table - which is fine, but we were told they were getting our table ready and we were never sat. We did get a free round of drinks for waiting so long, which was appreciated. The cucumber gin spritz is delightful! Had Burrata to start. The actual cheese & pesto was good, but it was hard to tell because the bread was. SO. Salty. I’ve never not finished bread in my life, but it was practically inedible. Like why are you putting salt on bread? Why? Why? I had the Steak-Frites. The steak was medium-rare (what I ordered), but it was very dry. I tried sopping it up with the jus, but there was barely any. The steak was cut into two chunky medallions - again, I just wonder why. Instead of 4 thinner slices, which would have been easier to cut and chew. The fries were stiff but also mealy. I don’t think they were frozen, because they had skin-on, but they had that taste/texture to them. I had maybe 6, and didn’t bother eating the rest. We declined dessert as 2/3 desserts were banana-based & my partner doesn’t like bananas. I would’ve liked to order dessert - I like bananas, but between the banana-curd bar and the chocolate torte (too heavy for summer), nothing was ringing my bell. Overall - Great staff (they seemed short-staffed but I’m not judging them for that, not their fault), atmosphere was fine, food wasn’t great - and for the price point, I would expect the food to at least be good. I was disappointed because lots of people have recommended Stirnella to me over the years, so my expectations were pretty high.

We sat on the patio right on the street front. It was a beautiful warm night. Restaurant is beautiful inside, even down to the bathrooms. Drinks were delicious! I got the Pinot Noir on tap and it was great! Light and easy to drink. The food was very good. Our waitress was so sweet. She even comped us a drink for our “wait” (which we didn’t even have one!) overall superb

Delicious dinners all around. Our reservation started during happy hour, so we enjoyed some delicious drinks, including the margarita. Madison was our server and she is truly amazing.

My fiancé and I were excited to have our anniversary dinner here. When we got there they seated us by a black wall that was blocking the main area. We didn’t feel comfortable there so we asked for a different table and they moved us towards the back room. We thought we were going to get a table by the bar because we selected that it was for our anniversary but I guess they didn’t know. We didn’t enjoy the restaurant to the fullest. The food was delicious though but overall I don’t think we will go back.

Food was ok--appetizers were pretty lackluster but entrees were better. (Example:Popcorn chicken is soggy, mussels are fresh but broth lacked flavor). We didn't have to wait long for food but we think it was because it was made ahead of time (hence sogginess). It wasn't super busy and there were a million people working but we had to ask for silverware and wait for it for a long time and ask again, waitress took bill with cash and never came back (it's ok it was tip included but we never said so--would have been nice for her to ask and maybe say thank you). Bathrooms were also pretty gross--super sticky floor. 🤷‍♀️

Services was extremely slow tonight taking two hours start to finish for dinner for just two people. When I finally got my sandwich it was burnt. I have eaten here in the past and was extremely impressed. Tonight not so much.

I had the pulled pork sandwich. I loved the Asian influences with the use of kimchi and the sauce on it. I would definitely go again and try so many other things on the menu.

Pains me to write a review like this because the food is SO GOOD. But the service is terrible. Took 30 minutes to get a Diet Coke after putting in the order. The waitress either got our order wrong or the food was accidentally over cooked… asked for medium rare but got medium well. Then we were never checked up on with the food. Only time we saw our waitress was our order or the late delivery of the drink. Ended up having to flag another waitress.

We keep coming back because I love this place. Great food! Great atmosphere!! Of course I have to get the gooey butter bar every time for dessert. It was my birthday and we all loved our food. Only one thing wasn’t great. We had a reservation but when we arrived they did not have a table for us. We waited while they figured it out but I don’t normally have that issue with open table reservations made in advance.

Specialty drinks took a long time for not a busy night. Orange and thyme needed to be muddled less ice. No fresh fish on menu or steak other than sirloin. Seemed odd especially in nebraska. Could have used some veg on entree plates Butter bar was very good Burrata was killer

All of the dishes were fresh and flavorful. The house salad was awesome. Love it that they have wine on tap. Parking is a little challenging so allow time for that.

Stirnella never disappoints. I rarely order chicken (if I’m out, I’m looking for something won’t get at home) in a restaurant, but I guess I was in that kind of mood and had the roast chicken. Knocked my socks off. Flavorful, tender, crispy skin. Plus I was dining alone and not drinking, but my server was friendly and helpful despite not getting the “big check” from me. One of my favorite Omaha restaurants.
