We love this place. When the weather warms up, we will be coming very often after work because they allow dogs on the patio. Danielle was our server and did a great job.
We have always enjoyed Stirling Bridges. Now that we know that they have patio seating that is pet friendly, we will make it a regular stop with our new puppy. Courtney was our server again. She's the best.
My girlfriend and I were seated as soon as we walked in. Ordered the she had the 007 Martini while I had the Chocolate Porter. Though the prices seemed a bit steep the drinks were very good.
We ordered the Irish Onion Soup - It was WONDERFUL. Also had the Scotch Eggs and the deep fried sausage. She had the Cobb salad I had the roasted beet and spinach salad (could have used a few more beets) both were very good. We ended up getting "doggie bags" but the dog never saw it. Service - friendly but a little spotty, (they forgot the blue cheese dressing on the cobb salad, took almost 5 minutes to get some).
Overall we will definitely be back (especially for the Irish Onion Soup and Chocolate Porter) could have had 5 or 6 more for desert. Definitely would recommend to friends for good food - drinks - and atmosphere.
the service and server were excellent. the food was good. i got the fish and chips, which i thought would be more traditional due to the bar/restaurant type. the fish was great, but the chips (fries) were just regular fries, like frozen style, even if they were not. my wife enjoyed her meal, which was some sort of pie with salad. nice place for pool and darts.
I took my husband and 13 year-old daughter to Stirling Bridges for Valentine's Day. We had just been to London last year, so I thought it would be kind of a fun, out-of-the-ordinary reminder of our trip. We chuckled over the "Mind the Gap" sign right at the entry. We got English beers, and some appetizers. The appetizers were the best part, I think. The sweet potato poppers were delicious, and the Scotch eggs were a big hit at our table. The entrees didn't seem as successful. The tri-tip was kind of tough and the beef in the beef stroganoff was also pretty chewy. We ordered dessert, and we all loved the chocolate almond bread pudding. The red velvet cake was also fairly good, but wasn't a favorite for our table of chocolate lovers. The service was good, and everyone was friendly. My only tiny little complaint is that the server asked us if we wanted dessert when I was only about halfway through my meal. Other than that, the service and appetizers get my highest marks at Stirling Bridges.
Perspective is everything. If you are looking for a pub, it's great. 5 stars. That is clearly their focus. You will be pleasantly surprised by the full menu.
If, like me, you made a reservation on open table expecting a restaurant experience, you won't be so impressed.
We ordered the bangers and mash, and a pasty... Both were bland. (It is hard to fault that... That's how authentic British food tastes!)
Our server saved all of her personality for her coworkers - laughing away. With us, she said as little as possible and didn't smile.
We would have preferred a later dining time but 4:15p was all they had available. Not sure why - the place was empty.
I'm trying to think of what to compare it to... It's definitely not an Olive Garden or Buca di Beppo which have decent food and cultural ambience overload. Scale it way down and make the food so-so. *shrug* it's a pub!
Must have the cauliflower hot wings! My son loves the scotch eggs!!! Their pizza and salads are also so so yummy!!
Great customer service in person, email, phone & quick & easy reservation, great variety of healthy food selections on the menu, beautiful scenary, the bar with sports tv, the quiet side with lighting. Everything is perfect. Totally recommend this for a great dine! No disappointment. Also, I love that they're willing to place an order in advance with reservation to be ready upon arrival. Thank you for your service!
First time here. Reservation went fine. Used to be Brother Oliver's. Wish it still was. Inside isn't much to look at. Very bare. Looks unfinished. Food was ok. Pretzel appetizer was very good. My meal, bangers and mash was very bland, which might be intentional. Wife got the Risotta. Very creamy, overall ok. Service was ok.
Nothing terrible to say about this place. Nothing great either. Very mediocre.
One of our favorites just got better. We found out that they allow dogs on the patio area. We'll be bringing our new puppy when the weather gets a little warmer. Courtney was our server and did a great job.
The food and service have always been good. They have made some changes to the menu that may not be too popular. The chicken curry does not come with cauliflower any longer. The "mug" size for draft beers has been removed. Benjamin was our server and did a great job.
We ended eating here by shear luck and boy am I glad we did. It is a find! It is open and airy ( no clostraphobia here!) They have a delightful fireplace and and the bar is amazing! The food is really, really good. I loved the Scotch eggs and hand rolled pretzel. My husband ordered the steak which was the only disappointing item. It seriously had no flavor! Our son had a burger and said it was one of the best he has ever had. And he is a chef. The service was good, even though she forgot one of our items, she was very friendly. Over all the experience was great and we will be going back! The Brithish should invade more often........
I arrived 20mins early but the hostess was so wonderful she was able to get my table set up right away and our waitress was wonderful. She got us what we needed and made sure we all got our happy hour drinks and dishes. I had a really great experience.
Attentive wait staff. Cauliflower hotwings best starter ever could make it a meal.
Great food! Me and a friend went to listen to mercy Me and have dinner and drinks. We had a blast! The food was great, the band was amazing and the overall ambiance was fantastic!
Not the first time I have come Stirling Bridges. From the moment my family and walked in the hostess, waitress and managers were quite attentive. It was Monday night with the football game on, and we easily got a booth in the bar area. There were others families in the bar. Some with little kids having fun. I like the idea that some of the foods are authentically English. I really enjoy the scotch eggs, pork cracklings and cauliflower hot wings appetizers. The last is not too authentic but tasty. Ever since I tried scotch eggs in Scotland, I seem to always order them when I go. My son always orders a burger, but my daughter ordered fish and chips. Because I am on a veggie kick, I had a veggie pizza. It was all good. I will return.
Still a local favorite. Meg was our waitress again. She's great!
The food was only okay. We ordered three salads, cobb, wedge, and beet. The wedge salad was good with good blue cheese, the beet salad was a disappointment; three thin slices of too salty beet and a decent amount of spinach. Beet salad was definitely a misnomer. The beef stroganoff looked and tasted like hamburger helper. The beef and mushroom pie tasted good but the short crust described on the menu turned out to be puff pastry. All in all none of the four of us was impressed and don't plan on returning.
The food was very good and service better than average. Price is about right a little on the noisy side but the fish and chips were very good and the waffle and chicken hit it out of the park.
Only negative thing I can say is on last visit I ordered Chicken & Waffles And the waffles were so full of grease I couldn't eat anything and had to return it. So I would not recommend those but everything else is fabulous. We just love the servers (with personalities) at this restaurant too!!
Great place to go to after work! Meg was our server again. She's great.
Once again, great food and service. Meg was our waitress and did a great job! Thanks!
Great food and service again. Caitlin was our server and did a great job. We'll be back.
We were at a meeting and needed a place to eat at 10:30 pm. We were unfamiliar with the area, so OpenTable to the rescue. The bar was nearly empty when we arrived, so I am sure the noise level is higher at busy times. The service was excellent, and we were not treated hastily in spite of the late hour. The decor is unique and fun. My companion had bangers and mash which he said was very good. Being a vegetarian, I tried the Pesto Pasta with vegetables. The sauce was very creamy and delicious. We will definitely return when we are in the area.
We come here almost once a week now. Ana was our waitress. She was very busy. They seemed understaffed. Free coffee was nice.
We like the pub ambience although it's grand scale American style pub ambience. Good beer selection and great staff. Upbeat and can do.
Great place for an English Grub dinner or lunch. Having been raised in Jolly Old England, it was great to see so many names on the menu. Try the cauliflower and Scotch eggs - excellent. And the Bangers and Mash is just like Mom used to make. A fun night.
One of our favorites. We are regulars at least once a week. Caitlin was our server again and did a great job.
It was pricey diner type food. I ordered the special, a chicken sandwich with pesto sauce, tomato and mozzeralla. It was soggy and tasteless. The server however; was very pleasant and had the food been better, I would definitely return for the great service.
Always good food and service. Caitlin was our server and did a great job.
We're regulars for sure. Beef Pastie, chips and a mug of Guiness. Yumm! Kathryn was our server and did a great job!
Enjoyed a wonderful dinner. The previous restaurant in this location closed several years ago, and until now we have not had a restaurant of this caliber in the neighborhood. Stirling Bridges provided very good food combined with well-paced and excellent service.
Courtney was our waitress again. She's great! Food is always good.
We're regulars. Love the food and service. Courtney was our server and did a great job!
Consistent good food and service. Amy was our server in the bar area and did a great job. We're regulars now.
We have dined here several times and have never been disappointed . We love the appetizers, too. Pint night was great the other night. Food incredible.
Callie was our waitress again. She's the best! Food is great!
I must admit, i like big flavors from my food. Since my wife and daughter are planning a trip to England we thought we try this place. I surprises with the food, my Beef Pastie was good and had a decent flavor but my wife chicken curry was a bland as bland can be.
We dined here for Mother's Day and were not disappointed. Service was friendly, attentive and the food well above average. I think we found our comfort food mecca!
We went for Mother's Day brunch. The brunch was $25 a person for undercooked, runny omelette, cold sausage, and cereal. The blueberry muffin was the tastiest thing there...a very expensive muffin. :(
My kids chose items off the menu and liked their sandwiches.
