Worst customer service I ever received. We were intentionally ignored until we had enough and left
We were there for reservations and we sat at the table for nearly an hour and never received anything but water. We then moved to the bar and it took the lady about 15 minutes to even ask have we been served. We left
Staff was overwhelmed by Valentine’s Day. Fault was with management not being prepared...our second time, food is outstanding!
Due to Chris LeBlanc playing on Valentine's night, we decided to try the restaurant out. We made reservations online and all that worked out wonderful. We were seated in about 10 minutes. Obviously, the waiter had too many tables. Service was horrible. It took forever to place our orders, receive our food and when food was delivered we had no silverware.
Probably will not return.
Had reservations. Waited 10 minutes at hostess station. Then was told they over booked. Put us in an overflow room. Was seated and waited 20 mins, with no one coming to our table. We left. Will never go back.
6 of us on 2/14. Restaurant packed. We were there an hour and half before our order was taken. My husband went to bar for drink service. We ordered 10lbs of crawfish, after 45 mins came out cold, sent back and they micro-waved them and sent them back out to us. Manager comped food, will not return. So sad, because their food is REALLY good!! No reflection on the Marriott. It's fabulous!
We did not enjoy the food. The waitress seemed overwhelmed. Took a long time to get our drinks. Had to ask for utensils. When our appetizers came. The fried fish dinner was just ok. The Stinkys stew was good except the oysters were over cooked and rubbery. My husband had to ask twice for a spoon to be able to eat the juice of the seafood. The drinks and appetizers were good.
We ate at a Stinky’s for Valentine’s Day. They were way under-staffed and it took 45 minutes before our order was taken. The food, however, was excellent. A but over priced when compared to other BR seafood restaurants.
The next day, I received a text alert from my bank for my credit card charge. It was more than $30 above what I had signed for on my credit card receipt, including the 19% tip I gave. I called the restaurant and after being transferred 3 times, I spoke with a manager who took my information to research. He called me back in about 15 minutes stating that their receipt agreed with the amount I had signed for, so the Bank must have made a mistake. I then called the bank and they researched the transaction and did say that there was a reversal being processed. Not sure who is at fault here, but at the end of the day the bill is now correct.
Was last minute valentine date wife wanted crawfish they had them was very surprised how good they was very nice bar there
Great food and service.
We ate lunch and dinner there and a breakfast. The food quality and taste were outstanding and the wait staff was excellent
I got the fried green tomatoes and both my step father and I got the bbq shrimp. The shrimp was excellent, however the tomatoes were too thick and were covered in lettuce which was not disclosed on the menu. I hate lettuce. My wife got the boudin mac and cheese and said it was very good. My mother ate the brisket quesadilla which she raved about. We then had the heaven and earth dessert and split two of them two ways. They were great also.
This place looked like
It had a great menu and I was encouraged by the fact that I could make a reservation. Upon arrival the restaurant was empty. The menu could not be ordered from. We were only offered a run of the mill breakfast buffet. We went to Ruby Slipper and had a much better experience.
What a come back. The manager made a commitment to clean up the sins of service past. And so he did. The boudin balls are smokey and delicious, an Emerils envy. Great catfish chips and happy hour specials. And they take wonderful care of visitors and Tigers. Because they try to reinvent themselves. A little known gem.
had a delicious bloody mary for breakfast - one of the best i have ever had
dinner was good and a great band Friday night
Band was way to loud. Could have a conversation at the table.
Sunday brunch. Two tables with customers. We were a 6 top. One staff member made theirselves at home in the restaurant at a table with their child and boyfriend/husband. Since we were one of the two tables, we should not have to wait on drinks or food. Food was excellent.
There was a great band performing the evening we went to Stinky's for dinner and drinks. The idea of great food and local entertainment at a local hotel is unique and makes for a great date night. Lots of people enjoying the music but not overcrowded. The service was excellent with great recommendations for the bar and food areas. Our server was always smiling and checked on our needs just the right amount of time. The crawfish pie is one of our favorite dishes and was tasty as usual. The drink special of $5.00 for sparkling wine was also a welcomed treat.
My new favorite place; the food is delicious and the atmosphere is wonderful. You can enjoy a casual date night or a nice dressy dinner.
This was our second time going to Stinky’s Fish Camp in Baton Rouge. The first time, my husband and I went for brunch. The waitress forgot to bring out our oysters that we ordered as an appetizer. The second time, we went to Stinky’s to celebrate Father’s Day. We all thought the food is pretty good, however they have extremely slow service. The restaurant was not packed at all. It took a while to get drinks from the bar. They also forgot to bring out salads and brought our entrees out at different times. Some of our group didn’t get their food until much later than others. Overall, I don’t think the reasonable prices and decent food is worth going back.
We had Father’s Day Lunch. The food was really good but the service was a bit slow.
The service was just bad.... slow. There was a woman in restaurant who may have been lead waitress or manager-she was loud and we could hear everything she was telling staff. I had the Nola sandwich-cold. This was our second time here. First time was good. This time not so much-we won’t be back.
We went to stinky’s for Father’s Day for their oyster menu alone. However very closely down the hall was a swing dancing competition.... very loud and even louder when those people finished and came into the restaurant. The oysters were fantastic but I could take or leave the rest of the food. We would go back for a more casual quick dining experience.
service was ok, food was ok, atmosphere worse than fast food establishment. Thumbs down for the price!
First time. Really enjoyed it. Nice venue for live acoustic. Will be back
Attended the Mother's day buffet. The food selection was extensive, and quite good. We will return for all occasions.
Food was delicious. Prices are a bit expensive but average prices for hotel restaurant. The service was very poor. I assume the workers lack experience.
I booked this restaurant for Mother's Day expecting to get a rose and complimentary champagne they so boldly advertised. Neither was the case.
We had the buffet which was loaded with yummy food which satisfied my son and me.
There is a big problem in Baton Rouge where people like to dine out with great food but is lacking in properly trained wait staff. I did, however notice some kind of manager walking around and talking to people that he knew.
I would recommend the food at this restaurant but maybe sitting at the bar and don't expect special treatment...even on Mother's Day.
Highly recommend Stinky's. I've been there for lunch, dinner and brunch on Sunday's and the food is very delicious. Love the crawfish pie and the braised short ribs are extremely tender and flavorable.
There was a large table sat before us, so we figured we’d have a wait for our food. The waitress came, took our order and told us that she’d put in our order before the large table, so we were kind of relieved to hear that. Well about 40 minutes passes and the large table is getting served their meals before us. We just chalked it up to she must have forgot to put our order in first, no big deal. Well our food comes out shortly after and it was all cold. I had ordered the shrimp and grits and it really was not traditional shrimp and grits. I thought the food was extremely overpriced for the quality of food.
We went for oysters an apps. The appetizers were unbelievable good. The crawfish pie and grilled avacado were out of this world. I thought the oysters were ok. I will be back but will stay away from the oysters.
We had a good waiter, but the food was not as good as I expected.
First time trying this place while staying at the Marriott. Food + service was very good. Will def be back!
Extremely loud, waitress was preoccupied with something else
We went to Stinky’s Fish Camp in Florida and were excited to go back. The menu was not the same. There wasn’t a wide variety and what we ordered was very disappointing considering the price. The waiter kept refilling our drinks with a styrofoam cup. My $22 mahi was very bland with a few stir fried veggies underneath. Just a very hotel restaurant experience overall - not like the Stinky’s in Destin at all.
A group went for Sunday Brunch - we all ordered different items from the menu. The grits and the gumbo were the only items that were good - everything else was awful ... including the service.
This restaurant is in the lobby of a hotel so I was skeptical. It was FANTASTIC! We tried the crawfish pie that was to die for! We also had grilled avocado, gumbo and 5 different types of cooked oysters. All of the food was excellent. To top it off, our server was knowledgeable about all of the food and attentive to our table the entire evening. I think she was the only server working and she did an outstanding job. I highly recommend this place whenever you get a chance in Baton Rouge!
We had the fish of the day, which was Sheepshead. It was delicious. Our server was very nice and patient with all our questions concerning all the choices on the menu.
