Food always satisfying. Service not good. Took over 20 minutes for apps to arrive (after the table next to us who were seated 5 minutes after us). Our entrees then arrived while we we only half way through our apps. No acknowledgment from the food runner or our server, even when they cleared away our uneaten apps lest our entrees get cold.

The food isn't as good as it once was. This used to be one of my favorite spots, however, the prices have gone up and the food has gone down. Their charcuterie boards are VERY disappointing. My husband and I are sad that one of our favorite date spots has changed for the worst.

Great place for a date night or night out with friends. Very cool vibe inside with interesting decor. No other place in San Diego quite like it! Their Moscow Mules are the best in town!

Great service and ambience for a date. We went early so can't comment if things get wild late in the evening, but is not what I was looking for.

I wish there were more food options but the fries can hit the spot when in need of a snack.

The octopus was great but tiny portion.

Great late night find. Food and drinks were delicious and the setting was intimate and stylish. Looking forward to showing it off to more friends visiting from out of town.

I love the Starlight...I've been countless times with both large groups and small and the service and food has always been outstanding.

The pricing on the menu is great, esp for such a nice atmosphere and the food is always fresh and locally sourced. The cocktails are really excellent too...and I love that the cocktail menu changes with the season. They also have a great patio in the back that's nice for summer dining.

And since it's 21 and over only, we never have to sit by any screaming kids! Added bonus!

Foodwise I recommend the fries with aioli (YUM...thin, crispy, salty...), the burger and the Jidori Chicken. They've become my standbys even though I've enjoyed a lot of other items on the menu.

Arrived for our reservation at 7pm (Tuesday night). No one was there to great and seat us. The bar tender noticed the people piling up by the door and responded with pretending like he was busy with cleaning cocktail glasses. Once we were seated our server took our order. She forgot to put in our appetizer so once the entrees arrived and she had realized the small mistake, she disappeared for the rest of our dinner.
The food was great though! I send my heart out to the chef and cooks back there, doing a great job, while the servers and other FOH are busy not giving a f*ck.

Perfect atmosphere for a date, highly recommended! They have great tasting mules and, to make it even better, they are served in freezing cold heavy-duty copper mugs. TIP: ask for a spicy mule, they are awesome!

Loved the food and the service. Because of the very modern decor with hard stone decor and the nearness of the cocktail bar the noise level was a bit high for us but that would be my only reservation about this restaurant.

Go here for drinks, not food. The service is very problematic, both at the front of the house and the waitstaff. Food came out incorrectly, and very late. Despite having a reservation, our table was taken away from us and given to another party. Just sit down at the bar, order a drink and have dinner somewhere else.

We have eaten here several times and it never disappoints! We like to try their cocktails and specials - this time it was a pad Thai with lots of large shrimp and chicken too - delish. Also they always have great staff!

First time at Starlite recommended by a friend. Great cocktails, excellent cheese platter and main course. We split the chicken with bread pudding which was a nice portion and very tasty. It's a hidden gem, I highly recommend.

We enjoyed our evening. Good drinks, great steak, tasty fries, but don't get the veggie burger unless your tastes run towards a huge, dry, burnt, lentil log stuck between a bun with cheese and nothing to add flavor.

I really enjoy this restaurant but I hated where my party of 4 got seated. I was expecting a regular table for 4 in the general dining room but instead got wedged into a table right across from a party of 5. The tables were way to close and it was a lot noisier than what I've come to expect from Starlite. I still recommend this restaurant and will return but if I ever have a party of 4 will request a regular table in the dining room next time.

I brought some friends who had never been before and they all loved it (once they found it) The atmosphere, food, and service is all wonderful! We live in Encinitas but it's so worth the drive. I think they have the best martini bar in town!

The food was interesting and so delicious!!! I really liked the ambience. We ordered cocktails, appetizers and dinners, we also got a few items off of the happy hour menu. Overall great experience! This place is off the beaten path and I'm glad I found it.

Kick back and relax in a cool interior. Food was excellent. Only disappointment was asking for bread, being told there would be a charge (which was OK) and then bringing out for thin slices of a stale baguette without any oil and vinegar or butter. Our server was good enough to take it off the bill when I brought it to her attention.

Simply awful. We arrived and the place late at night around 8:30 and had so many empty seats and we were told that booths were only for parties of three or more, by a snobby host but then asked if I'd like a booth anyways since I asked. Ummmm yes obviously I asked and there are about 20 empty booths and the place was dead. Furthermore the AC was cranked so high and it was chilly out so I don't get that at all. Also when I commented to our waitress she just said" yea it's cold in here" without any offer to perhaps turn the AC down to accommodate the customers and even had another customer chime in as well. The waitress could've cared less if we stayed or left so we left and went to another restaurant. I will definitely not be returning here and will also tell my friends never to go here. Bad business move, treat your customers better than this.
