Overall a good experience. Eating in the dining room is preferable to eating in the pub area. Aim to go on any day but Monday and Tuesday for better dining experience.

Always a pleasure to eat at St John's Tavern. This time Saturday lunch service was very quiet so we were directed to eat in the bar area instead of the restaurant. The food is always good and as it was quiet, the service was efficient and relaxed.

My previous visit to St John was a bit of a disappointment ( we ate in the bar and the service was very poor) , so I was a bit skeptical about how things would be in the dining room… I’m pleased to say that everything from start to find was fabulous. Our waiter was knowledgeable, attentive and friendly and the food, delicious . We both chose the pollock with puttanesca sauce, crispy potatoes and a green salad followed by sticky toffee pudding and accompanied by a bottle of Chardonnay which was certainly not an average oaky wine! So pleased St J is now back on my radar and I look forward to enjoying dinner there again soon.

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch with delicious food and the team was very friendly . The team in the kitchen is great, helped us to choose amazing dishes and beautiful desserts! Highly recommended, we will be back!
