What Insiders Are Saying
Spinasse in Capitol Hill is one of the best fork-up-your-money Italian restaurants in Seattle.
The food was spectacular!
Cascina Spinasse is the best and more authentic Piedmontese Italian restaurant in North America and we have been trying hard to find someplace which does not require a 5 hour flight to get there.
Well prepared. Great wine pairings. A little heavy on salt. Great wait staff. Front of the house was a little unwelcoming.
We have been to Spinasse 2x before, the first time a lovely experience and the second time far less so, due to our initial encounter with a horribly rude hostess. Our most recent dinner was for our 30th anniversary and we hoped it would be wonderful - and it absolutely was! We had an excellent waiter, Max, who knew exactly how to be there when you needed him, answering questions and making recommendations in a very pleasant manner, and otherwise invisible. All of the dishes we shared - cauliflower appetizer, angel hair pasta with butter and sage, rabbit meatballs, panfried trout, huckleberry semifreddo - were ALL just lick-the-plate delicious (and we are picky!), perfectly executed and brought to the table at a nice pace. The cocktails and wine were also superb. It was a perfect dinner in all ways - thank you!
Other than the hostess giving me a tad bit of grief for being 5 minutes late to a 5:15 pm reservation, we had a nice experience. The food is delicious and never disappoints!
Consistently delicious Italian food, wonderful made from scratch pasta. After dinner coffee was outstanding. Never disappoints. Great for entertaining out of town guests.
This is our favourite Seattle restaurant. The hand made pastas are always incredible, the appetizers and salads interesting and delicious, and whatever you do, an order of roasted carrots is a must! The menu is great for sharing. The wine list is carefully put together to represent the beautiful wines of the Piedmont region. Imagine...Barbaresco or Barolo by the glass.
Service was great. The tajarin was amazing as was the Barbaresco wine. Could've skipped the rabbit meatballs but will definitely be returning.
We paid 150$ for 2 pastas and a salad and 1/2lt red wine. All the food was salty. The meal felt rushed. What a disappointment for years we had good meals there.
Always an enjoyable experience. The butter and sage tajarin and assorted squash ravioli were amazing.
First time to Spinasse and was quite impressed with the food. Especially liked the beef cheeks, the rabbit meatballs, and the risotto. I'm glad our waiter suggested doing dinner family style since all four of us had not been there before and this allowed us to try a few more things.
Love this place, food is always excellent, service fantastic.
It was the best meal I’ve had in Seattle in 3-4 years. Tasty pork/tuna appetizer, delicious ragu pasta—like the best I’ve ever eaten, and super savory tender beef cheeks. Dessert a bit small. Strongly recommended.
I like the pasta, and the ambiance & service are great!
Great spot to celebrate with your favorite person in the world!
I really enjoyed our dinner. Our waiter made a good wine recommendation that paired nicely with our meal.
It can be hard to find Italian food this good in Italy.
Great. Great food, wine and service.
Certainly making a trip back out to Spinasse again. The food was prepared perfectly. Our server was hard to hear and the restaurant wasn’t loud.
The service and food were absolutely phenomenal. Unfortunately, the hostess failed to mention we were celebrating a birthday and it went unnoticed by our server. The hostess also seated us at a less than stellar table that had cold wind hitting us every time the door opened. We made these reservations months in advance and indicated there was a special birthday and the hostess failed to take that into account when seating us. If you plan on celebrating and want a great table, it’s best to call ahead and speak directly with someone as they won’t pay attention via opentable.
One of our favorite restaurants. Every time we go we are always so impressed with the food. Always one of the best meals. Great wine and service as well.
One of the best restaurants in Seattle. The tasting menu was fantastic. The wine pairings were perfect. Great service.
Rabbit meatballs were delicious! In fairness we only had appetizers and did not experience the pasta which they are known for. Our server was very attentive and made excellent recommendations. Sauces were a little heavy but broccoli had a nice twist.
Incredible Italian food. Authentic. Great attentive to service without being pushy or hurried. I've never been disappointed here.
Spinasse was just what I wanted, just as I imagined, except the watching of the pasta maker. That exceeded my expectations. Very enjoyable, delectable, & quaint.
Truly great food. One of my favorite dining experiences.
Friday was my fifth time dinning at Spinasse and my third time doing the tasting menu. Every visit has been as good as the last. At Spinasse, you taste every dish on the menu when you do their tasting. Portions are generous. You can also expect impeccable service starting when you walk in the door.
Some of the most delicious Italian food I have ever had!
Made a special trip from Salt Lake City. Amazing and worth the trip.
The food was splendid, so was the service! Amazing experience!
Food did not live up to the hype. The service was quite good.
We came in with high expectations given the review on Spinsee's website that it is among the top 5 Italian Restaurants in the nation.
We ordered the Prosciutto and the Salad for first course. The Prosciutto was excellent, but the salad was a real disappointment. More like a potato salad that you can buy at grocery store rather than a restaurant's level dish.
For second course we ordered the handmade pasta in butter & sage. We also added truffles for extra $25 that were the special for the night. The pasta was soft and swimming in butter. almost like those kids style dishes you get around town. Sage wasn't noticed though the truffles were OK.
For main course we ordered the trout which was excellent.
For dessert we ordered the Tiramisu and the Chocolate Tart. Both were below standard. We sent the Tiramisu back to the kitchen.
Overall very disappointment experience.
We had a great meal with small portions but flavorful and very nicely done Italian foods. My boyfriend and I split three of the small pastas and each were packed with flavor and just the right textures.
Loved getting to spend the night out with friends. We tried every pasta dish on the menu and loved them all!
The food is so awesome !!!! Cannot wait to go back.
We felt we were well cared for, our experience was lovely, the food was delicious!
The restaurant was better than I hoped!! The waiter was wonderful and very knowledgeable. The food was excellent!!!
We flew in to Seattle with some friends to celebrate 30th Anniversary and a momentous birthday. Picked Spinasse based on reviews and location. There was nothing disappointing about this place. Our waiter was knowledgeable and very helpful with guidance on what to avoid due to gluten allergies. Everything we had exceeded our expectations. We will certainly return.
Great service. Our server was more than knowledgeable with everything he presented.
The food is always perfect. Don’t order, just let them tell you what to eat, it’s amazing.
