   We went to see the weekly IU Coach’s radio show. The restaurant was smaller than I expected, so we could see and hear clearly. Food was delicious!

   I was t so impressed. One server was annoyed with use because we were talking. Another one took us over. Food was fresh. No special display of any kind. A sandwich in a plate. Seriously. A little garnish?? Then my son decided he wanted something else. We waited. We waited. Waiter avoided us but after I asked him to pull it out of the kitchen or cancel it he Blamed it on a large group. You cannot get one burger out ahead of a large group for a table that has been here. I managed restaurants for many years …boo on you. I don’t think we will be back when we are back in town.

   Our Waitress was lovely. I am not sure having raw onion in our salads for Valentine's was the best choice. :)

   Came for an early Valentine’s day dinner, expecting a quiet restaurant... Had no idea there was some sort of talk show. There were tables constantly moving around and cameras. It wasn't very comfortable for a first time dine. Then, we were sat in direct sunlight so I had to spend more than half of our stay with my hand up so I could look at my partner. When I asked if anything could be done, I was told the blinds were broken… Our waitress (who I forget the name of) wouldn't let us move, so it was a pretty painful hour of sun in my eyes. Then, finally, the tacos were interesting.. Got up-charged for the corn tortillas (doesn’t say that on the menu), they didn’t have any of the cojita cheese or any sauce. The shell was so hard it hurt my jaw to chew. I don’t know if they were stale or what… After being so overstimulated by the bright light and the noise, I didn't want to complain so we just paid and left. All in all, the place seems nice, but not what we were expecting….

    Nice drink selection. Good southern inspired food selections. Really enjoyed the sweet tea brined fried chicken. Also, egg roll appetizer was really good. Always walk away satisfied from southern stone.

    Our waitress, Anna-Marie, was great and our experience is no reflection of her service. But it took nearly 50 minutes to get our food (cheeseburger and tacos). When our food arrived, I was very surprised that my side of broccoli, only contained three smalls pieces. They were also out of a main ingredient that made several of their custom cocktails.

    The waiter was friendly, knowledgeable, and it was a wonderful first experience. The food was 10/10 and it was such a good little brunch for my husband's early birthday. I can't wait to go back!

    Everything was GREAT! Service, food, entire staff was outstanding! Our waiter was very attentive and the food was amazing! We were able to get in and seated right away! Definitely will be going back for brunch. We’ve eaten there for dinner as well several times. Great place off the beaten path in Bloomington!

    Service was extremely slow. They warned us that they only had one bartender but it ended up taking 30 minutes to get our first round. When we thought how could it take so long, we walked over to the bar and our drinks were sitting there ready. The food also took a very long time. When they brought out the caesar salad they had run out of dressing, so they asked us what other dressing we would like on our caesar. The food was OK but nothing special. This place has potential but has a lot to work on to get it right.

    Had a reservation and was delayed due to a delayed flight. I called to see if we could move our reservation back and was told that was no problem. When we arrived we were told we could be seated but would have to wait an hour after we ordered for dinner as they were so backed up. When we were waiting for the hostess we heard another patron complaining that he had been waiting for 45 minutes and that it is always a problem there. It would have helped if they let us know all of this when we called to say we were delayed. We did not end up staying for dinner do I cannot comment on the food.

    Good food but not at all worthwhile. For $25-$30, I would hope to be impressed more by the service and food. The mule was overpowered by ginger beer. The creole pasta had strong flavor but it was a very small portion. The brie sandwich was a mess. Brie, fruit spread, spinach on white bread? Probably won’t come again…

    The food was very good (except for the green beans). Fried green tomatoes are the best. Smoked salmon and fried okra were very nice. The dining room is one large space, so it wasn't an intimate experience and on this winter day it was cold.

    I had the Shrimp and Grits and it was one of the best dishes I’ve had in a long time. My husband had the max and cheese and couldn’t wait to eat the leftovers for lunch. Can’t wait to come back with some more of our friends.

    Made reservation a few days ahead. Arrived at the restaurant and got our table promptly. Service is good. Drinks and appetizers came out promptly. There was a bit of time until our entrées arrive because a large party had their order in before us. Dinner arrived hot and quality was good. Highly recommend.

    We love southern stone, but it seems like they recently changed ownership or management. The atmosphere was different, and the food portions are much smaller. Still very tasty, but it seems like they're trying to be higher-end and some of the things we loved about the place are suffering for it.

    Southern Stone has a limited menu, but everything I have tried on it is good. The pork tenderloin sandwich I had was hot, juicy and seasoned just right.

    First, our waitress, Amanda, was excellent. She tried as best she could under the circumstances, but it took well over an hour for us to get our food. (We've had food be late in coming other times, but not this late.) One of our group of eight had to leave before receiving her food since she would be late to an appointment. Two of the orders were incorrectly prepared, but once received, the food was good. We had decided to give it a try again after having reservations three other Mondays for lunch, arriving to have the restaurant closed without notice. We were told later that there had been a kitchen fire. We will not be returning again due to such chaotic kitchen service.

    We came for brunch. All of the eggs were over cooked and the food lacked flavor. This is not my usual experience there. I’ve had dinner there and brunch there before. Overall this was a terrible experience from slow service and terrible food.

    The burger was bland, the macaroni was just ok. Mixed drinks were not that good. The restaurant is very cute. I really wanted to like it, but the menu needs work.

    This was the second Monday lunch when we arrived at the restaurant to see the sign on the door that they were closed and wouldn't open until 5PM. There were 8 of us and we had to figure out where else to go at the last minute. Not happy.....

    2 of the 3 of us got fried chicken and chicken fried steak and both were overcooked - no golden brown- more like tree bark, and just as hard. The meat inside tasted good but the crust was wasaayyyyyy over. 2nd time it’s been like that. Not a fluke, needs to be adjusted.

    Great food. Have Gluten free sandwich options for Celiac. Unfortunately they do not have a dedicated gluten free fryer so none of their many fried gf options are safe for Celiac (gluten ‘allergy’).

    Tried many things on the menu and we all shared. Service was great! A couple things was out that we wanted on the drink menu. All the food was amazing except the hamburger, ordered it medium- medium well and it was well well, the hamburger tasted burnt. Great portion size meals. I would definitely come back and try something different.

    We went on a Wednesday night. Out server was very sweet. Food was delivered fast and was excellent. My husband had the venison sandwich and I had shrimp and grits. Both very good. Great experience overall.
