Excellent carbonara. Breadsticks wine. Went for. Restaurant week and there was an abundance of food. Desserts. Were excellent
We went for our anniversary and it was a wonderful experience.
Best restaurant week meal on the listb
Outstanding polenta appetizer, recommended by our waitress (we asked). Carbonara was perfect. My guest had never been to Sotto Sopra, so I have a new and very loyal friend.
Best restaurant week meal I ever had. All 3 courses were excellent. Goat cheese salad, beet capresse, squid ink pasta, salmon, tiramisu and creme brulee again were all excellent.
Great place, delicious food and great service
Outstanding date night for my wife and I taking advantage of Baltimore Restaurant Week. The service was impeccable (kudos to Jose) and the food was absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic Italian!
Best spot for Baltimore restaurant week! So many diverse options and they're all done so well- lamb meatball appetizers, branzino, veal saltimbocca entrees were among our favorites.
The food and service were outstanding. It was restaurant week and we chose Sotta Sopra because of the fantastic menu. The beet salad and lamb meatball dishes for appetizers were great. Our main courses were branzino and gnocchi bolognase. Desserts were excellent. We are looking forward to our next dinner at Sotta Sopra.
We were looking for a restaurant we’ve never been to for Restaurant Week and a friend recommended Sotto Sopra. Our waiter Lindsay was AMAZING!! Everything about our experience was fantastic. I can’t wait to go back!
Excellent food--the carbonara and the ravioli were superb. Service was attentive without being annoying.
Sotto Sopra never disappoints, and Restaurant Week allows this restaurant to outshine most others. Unlike many menus during Restaurant Week, Sotto Sopra’s is extensive. The Beet Caprese, Banzino entré and the Hazelnut Mouse were, respectively, very good, good, and drop-dead-I’m-in-Heaven sublime. The place is busy, lively; reservations just about always needed, even for a bar seat. One of my favorite restaurants in Baltimore.
Always a hit during restaurant week, although more items now have an upcharge
Amazing and friendly staff. All the staff was welcoming and accommodating. The food was delicious and the ambiance was very romantic. All around great experience!
Great food (snails and mussels) in a wonderful restaurant!
Jose R was an amazing waiter and provided great service. The whole staff was lovely. Everything we enjoyed was perfect.
Very welcoming setting. Service always over the top fantastic.
Everything was wonderful, The food superb- risotto with seafood and lasagna, beet & goat cheese salads and chocolate pistachio crepe brûlée & apple tart - all excellent.
We thought our meals did not match previous experiences at the restaurant. Perhaps it was because we had just returned from dining experiences in Rome or perhaps Sotto Sopra has a new chef. We were disappointed with the fried artichoke appetizer and the saltimbocca was unattractively draped over a mound of mashed potatoes. The spinach ravioli was tender and flavorful. All in all, a mixed experience.
The back dining room provided the perfect spot for a reunion with old friends. The Saturday lunch menu provided good selections and the service was very good. We will definitely return. The risotto and tiramisu were especially enjoyed.
One of the best in Baltimore!
Great dining experience. Food was excellent. Service was spot on.
Considering it was NYEve - the service and food was great
Fantastic. Went New Year’s Eve. Perfect ambiance, service & outstanding food.
Fabulous food .... great service and lovely ambiance. no complaints.
Food was excellent. Was disappointed in portions- I ordered the Cioppino which is usually abundant in size. The serving was fairly small and I ended up eating more vegetables than seafood. Again, the meal was tasty, just smaller than expected.
Prosciutto and fried artichoke appetizer dish is amazing. Honestly, the food here is exponentially better than anywhere in Little Italy and the hospitality leaves Harbor East in the dust. Impressive after all these years.
We previously enjoyed Sotto Sopra during Baltimore restaurant week, and had a fabulous risotto. This time I had the beet caprese salad (a surprising combination that worked very well) and the ricotta gnocchi with a short-rib ragout. The ragout was intensely flavorful (was that tarragon I tasted?) and the gnocchi were tender as could be. The supertuscan red recommended by the waitstaff was the perfect match to the short-rib ragout. I shall return.
The food was great and the service was very good but the experience was lackluster. For $60 per person I expect more. Perhaps the host could have been more welcoming and personable or offer to take our coats. Maybe our server could have made a little conversation with us. Or is the layout of the tables. I don’t know but I want the experience to be special when l go out. Sotto Sopra is not alone in this regard. I have noticed the lack of “experience “ problem in most of the high end restaurants I’ve been to of late.
Fabulous. First time for my family to spend Christmas Eve somewhere other than at home! Their family is my family.
Our favorite Italian restaurant in Baltimore (and that is saying a lot). Excellent food and service (even on busy nights). My only quibble is they no longer post their wine list with the menu (a sign that wine is not a high priority) and the markups approach 3X retail :(
Had the table at the door if only was a bit different for a special eve it was nice just drafty and other people(guests) simply did not care we were having dinner... bad spot I guess we did have reservations for quite some time bleh
I have never had a bad meal here. My boyfriend got the duck breast crostini special and said it was a generous portion of succulent, perfectly cooked duck- no crostini needed! The octopus salad was also outstanding- truly a light refreshing salad with tender octopus. We shared the the carbonara was rich, creamy pasta perfection. Our server was attentive as well. Always a treat!
The food was by and large quite good. The ribeye is outstanding, though the duck breast crostini needs a little work work. My one serious complaint is that they start clearing the table before everyone has finished eating. This is rude and unacceptable.
Excrllent all around from food to service
Perfect for romantic dinner, quiet enough for catch up with friends, great pre theater, and the food is always wonderful, staff attentive and letting lovely. One of our favorites in Baltimore!
Wonderful dinner with University aged daughters. Everything was as we remembered. This is our go-to special dinner restaurant.
Great food and great service as always.
The ravioli was not very good nor was it hot.
Our waitress was helpful with giving us suggestions about food. Home made pasta is the way to go
