Sorellina - Traverse City
My favorite place in TC
Food was just ok
Had a great time! Love this place!!
The food was phenomenal- Everything from the bruschetta to our dinners. Our server, Jered, was one of the best we’ve had in Traverse City. He was knowledgeable, kind, and personable. We can’t say enough wonderful things about our experience. Treat yourself to night out here. You will not be disappointed.
My husband and I enjoyed a nice bottle of wine, meat & cheese board, the grilled halibut and carrot cake all of which were tasty. The service was great and we will be back.
We had apps and entrees along with drinks. The apps and drinks were great but the lasagna was not very good. The other entree was very good.
Seated promptly for reservation, attentive wait staff ready for drink orders, very patient as we caught up with our friends, never felt rushed. Wine selection by the glass nice. Appetizer of calamari excellent. Caesar salad was weak, very small, and of 3 ordered, all looked different and inadequate, no croutons on 2, no offer of shaved Parm. My main entree scallops outstanding presentation and seared perfectly but only luke warm, not worth sending back. Partner’s chicken Marsala was a pale chicken breast with a dousing of Marsala wine, not really a sauce, pasta uninspired. Guests however enjoyed their dishes. Overall a nice experience but lower value rating due to cost vs. above issues. We will go back, but next time we might be a bit more “high maintenance “.
Wonderful service and outstanding food.
We had a disappointing experience. Sorellina was not very accommodating with our two boys food allergy. Both boys have a severe allergy to tree nuts. We dine out frequently with them and higher end establishments generally will know their ingredients and advise us on safe menu items. Many will have a chef or manager come speak with us if the server is unsure. Most will clean a surface or cook in a fresh pan to allow our teenage boys to enjoy their menu items without the chance of cross contact. Our server checked on a few different items with the chef and basically we were told only fried items or items with the red sauce were safe for them to eat! That limited the menu quite a bit! Apparently if they did not cook it in their kitchen they said they didn’t recommend it because it may have had cross contact. Other items they had thrown away the ingredient label earlier in the day so we’re unable to check the ingredients. She also didn’t recommend a few items on their menu such as the caprese salad or Brie appetizer because they assemble them in an area of the kitchen where they may have cross contact. This tells me their staff is not trained on keeping food from cross contact in their kitchen. While I can appreciate that they didn’t tell us something was safe when it was not, it is not helpful for a restaurant to label everything unsafe and not try to use safe food practices so all can enjoy the items that are truly safe for a customer.
I would not recommend this restaurant to people with food allergies. Had we not already ordered our wine we would have left. There was plenty on that menu that could have been safe for people with tree nuts had they known their ingredients and had safe kitchen practices.
7 of us dined at Sorellina's last week. The food was excellent (and everyone had something different). We were in a booth in the back which helped cut down on the noise level. However, it's a U shaped table and so you couldn't talk to anybody except your direct neighbor.
Meal with friend
Had a wonderful meal for 6 with my sons and their girlfriends. Service was wonderful, Margaret was outstanding. Everyone enjoyed presentation, taste, portion sizes. Wonderful evening!
My 3 children & I, ages 18, 15 & 11 had a Fantastic Christmas Eve dinner! The service, food & atmosphere was exceptional!! We were visiting from Florida for the Holiday and I was so pleased to have such a memorable Christmas Eve dinner @ Sorellina with my children.
Thank you so much!!

Ordered lasagna and it’s really a big portion and taste great
Excellent wine, impeccable service, delicious food!
I find Sorellina provides consistent pleasant experiences. Once again, it did not disappoint!
My husband enjoyed his sausage and pasta dish very much, and the crabcake appetizers were delicious. My chicken piccata, however, was swimming in a thin, bitter broth; I had to send it back to the kitchen. Our waitress was very kind and accommodating and removed my order from the bill.
We had a wonderful dinner at Sorellina this week. Our server, Jared, was great! The food was very good and the free birthday dessert was greatly appreciated. The new location is beautiful as well. We would highly recommend Sorellina!
My wife had the chicken marsala and felt that there were not enough mushrooms in the dish, and that the chicken was cut a bit thin. I had the shrimp alfredo and thought it was outstanding. We finished with the peanut butter mouse tart, which was great.
Love the look of the restaurant, great aesthetic and atmosphere. The food was okay, the Brie appetizer was a little bland. My dish was overwhelming with blue cheese for my taste and my husband felt the Alfredo was very rich. Overall not bad and we would go back and try different dishes.
The service was excellent and the food was incredible!
Super service and ambiance
We thought the restaurant was great, but we felt like our server was rushing us. She asked us twice if we had Chosen our drinks as we looked over the wine list and as soon as we ordered the wine she asked us twice if we were ready to order. I was thinking it might be because they were expecting a crowd but when I asked if they were busy she responded that no, this was their slow time. If I had known I would have asked her to slow down her service but it was too late at that point.
Had great service from Alex. Thank you for a lovely meal.
Food and service are good. Wish there was a special or two off the menu but there was not. Happy hour has great prices. In town location is great.
Excellent food, fresh ingredients, moderately priced. Like being able to make reservations during busy periods.
We have been coming to Sorellina every year for the last 5 for a pre Iceman Cometh dinner. Second time at the new location. We love the overall ambience, food and offerings of this restaurant, but was a little disappointed this visit with two of our 6 meals. One entree was removed from bill it was that subpar. Thinking it was a fluke evening as usually, Sorellina's delivers. We are thinking about trying Slate next door next year just for a change-up. Same owners but Slate is a steak place.
Our meal was very good as usual but our waiter was very opinionated as to what we should eat from the menu. One of our guest ordered and dish and was told I would not order that, that he should order another selection. We found it to be a little rude.
My girlfriend and I came in out of town and decided to make a reservation here. Food was delicious and management was great as soon as we walked in but our server was very inattentive. Dessert was great and our pasta dishes were amazing. Very busy so it was pretty loud but still romantic for two.
nice ambience, food is average at best, price doesn’t match quality of food
Anniversary date. We had the Marsala pasta with grilled chicken and it did NOT disappoint! Amazing flavor and zing! Delicious! We also had the baked Brie which was complimented nicely with a flavorful tomato based sauce and served with warm grilled crostini! I also have to add the the glass of Pinot Noir was smooth and delightful!❤️❤️❤️ We will definitely remember this night!
PS- see photos attached to tell you what we thought of their peanut butter mousse dessert!😉
Received wrong order. Not a lot of value for the price. Felt rushed through.
Frank was awesome!! Very knowledgeable of menu. Great service!
My main reason for recommending Sorellina is our server-Hannah. Hannah made the evening! She rescued my lukewarm mean and had it redone without batting an eye. It came back super hot and perfect! I even asked for a change in the pasta and Hannah said, "No problem!" My two fellow diners' meals were perfect as ordered, by the way. After we finished and were chatting with Hannah, she told us it was her first night as a server. We could not tell! Hannah was that polished and flawless! We have dined at Sorellina many times and will continue to do so...and we will request Hannah as our server. Our favs-Salsiccia Italiana, Chicken Carbonara and Chicken Piccata; which we ordered that respective evening. I would suggest one thing-more local wines by the glass, please.
First time at the new location, very nice, the food was very good as usual, no complants.
How do you mess up a Caprese salad? Answer: By trying to be too fancy. While we appreciate a chef putting new and interesting spins on things, Sorallina seems to try to be creative on everything. Sometimes it’s best to simply honor a tried and true classic.
Food was excellent - server was extremely patient and knowledgeable, Filet was amazing
It was our 19 year wedding anniversary, which I stated in the reservation. Our server never told us her name, never told us about any specials, didn’t ask if we had ever been there, nor asked if there was a special occasion. We probably would have ordered appetizers or salads but she never asked or tried to up-sell. We were sat in the back by the kitchen doors which was very noisy and not the best scenery. The food was fantastic, however our server made us feel like we were inconveniencing her and being sat near the kitchen was not a good experience for a special occasion.
Food was cold and sauces were watery
