    Big disappointment. We went to Solera hoping it would rival La Vie, the restaurant/chef it replaced. But we were greatly disappointed in the quality of the food and wine pairing, especially considering the price. We had the chef's table ($125 each) with wine paring ($75 each). The amuse bouche tried to be elegant with two tiny morsels that sandwiched a forgettable foam. Trendy does not necessarily equate with tasty. The appetizer was the biggest disappointment: a cornbread pancake base that was overcooked and dry, topped with several dollars of overly sweetened brown butter mousse and some garnishes--the whole thing was poorly conceived and executed. The risotto was uninspired and plain. The only nice dish was the kanpachi fish, done with a type of butter bean. The flatiron steak was cooked as requested, but was heavily salted in the kitchen. Neither of us could finish it. The desserts were a dry, almost tasteless tiramisu role, an inedible green "stone" which was basically a giant overdone M&M, and a small wedge of a decent creme torte. The wine pairing started well with a Tattinger champagne, but the following rose was dry and acerbic, and the red was a house blend that the server could not name.

    The service was great and views fabulous. The special Ice dessert hey had was awesome. But the food was subpar. It literally needed more seasoning - not sure what was going on the kitchen but sadly it wasn’t worth the price. If you had to go back there, just go to the bar for a drink and the views. Staff was awesome though!

    Had a great time. We have been many times when it was La Vie and sadly, we miss La Vie. We went for my wife’s bday and although the pre-fixe includes dessert, it would have been nice if they wrote happy birthday on the plate or even added a candle. Not sure we will be back. Maybe for pau Hana or drinks.

    Pretty good food with great service by our waiter.  the tasting menu is a pretty good value liked the Johnny cake, beets and steak. Risotto was good but there was just too much stuff in it that made it confusing.

    I love Solera for dinner! If you have a special occasion, this is your spot! However breakfast was somewhat disappointing. The space was quiet and beautiful. The food wasn’t really worth the price. I expected the flavorful, beautiful dishes that you get at dinner but it wasn’t the same. Still love Solera but will stick to dinner only.

    Services was top notch. Very welcoming staff and food and drinks came out very prompt and staff always checked on us. Loco moco and the pancakes were great. The farmers omelette could use a little bit more seasoning but overall everything was great. It was a great way to spend Father’s Day

    We went to Solera for our anniversary dinner. We really enjoyed the view and outdoor seating. The ambiance was perfect for our evening. Kaia took excellent care of us. I have a food allergy and she was very knowledgeable about the menu and what items I could have and which I should avoid. She double checked with the kitchen on a few items as well, and was such a wonderful person. Our steaks were cooked perfectly, and all of our food was delicious. There was a wait for our entrées, but we expected this and it did not bother us at all. It encouraged us to slow down and enjoy every aspect of our evening. There was even a thoughtful message on our dessert plates wishing us a Happy Anniversary.

    We went for dinner last night. We thought their food were hit or miss. We liked the crab salad. The manoa lettuce salad was okay. Steak was lean, but it was cooked to expected. We have their risotto but we were not sure if we like it or not. They have free desserts which we like. We also got the mango hashigori dessert that was really good.
