so•ca derives it’s name from several sources: a Peruvian word for sugarcane, a popular style of Caribbean music, and inspiration from a well known geographical divider, the Tropic of Cancer. Located just north of the Equator, this line of latitude divides many countries around the world. so•ca centers its focus on the islands and Americas south of this geographical border (south of the tropic of cancer).
Located on the corner of Oberlin and Clark Ave, so•ca cocina latina brings the flavors of this region to Cameron Village where we share our exotic culinary story Tuesday-Saturday 5pm-9pm. Many of the items on the so•ca menu allow diners to travel to these unfamiliar lands without needing to leave the comforts of the Triangle.

Great range of food with interesting flavors. Two of us shared 5 of the small plates. Dined outside - a little street noise
The outdoor patio is a MUST! The menu was full of tasty sounding dishes, we decided on the special scallop ceviche, it was outstanding! We then had lamb patties, the whole fried fish & skewers! All was FANTASTIC!! Highly recommend!
Wonderful outdoor dining area. Excellent service. Creative menu. Will definitely be back!
Love that they have a vegan menu and it was delicious!
extensive menu with lots of gluten free choices. every dish we had was good. interesting exotic drink menu. the outdoor "cabanas" were a nice touch - airy and private at the same time. service professional and cordial. loved the experience.
Wonderful food, wonderful service. Loved the atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
Outside table was not very nice and the chairs were terrible. Food was good. Service was meh. I’ll go back because it’s normally better.
I've driven past SoCa for two years now and I finally enjoyed a meal there last night. Everything was INCREDIBLE. Each appetizer, entree, drink and dessert surprised me with how consistently delicious it was. The service was amazing and the outdoor ambiance was lovely. I will definitely be going back soon!
Beautiful restaurant with limited menu. The food was not pleasing at all and was very expensive. I chose not to complain because I was spending time with a friend I hadn’t seen in a while. Not worth the money and they’re better choices around. Thanks for the memories!
Great food and cocktails. The service was fantastic. We will definitely be back!
Wonderful food with fantastic attentive service in a beautiful setting.
Excellent service and our waiter made great recommendations on the small plates to share. Lovely decor and great atmosphere. Margaritas were also delicious, but stay away from their house margarita on menu and opt for a simple lime one instead.
Our total experience was five star.
The food was outstanding and we really enjoyed it!!
Outdoor seating a great option. Our server was great. Food is not my favorite. We got small plates and it was lacking in flavor and the pork cheek was over cooked and felt dried out. Second time here and both times I was underwhelmed.
Best outdoor dining in Raleigh, great service, everything on the menu is solid
What a delightful experience to dine al fresco, pocketed inside curtains on 3 sides. The food, as always, did not disappoint. We particularly enjoyed the whole fried branzino fish and the SO-CA take on baked Alaska. Well worth it!
This was my 2nd time at Soca. Lots of vegan options that were fantastic.
We sat o.utside in a "Cabana" and forgot we were right by a road.
The food was excellent, so were the cocktails and the wine. Great service too
I think that paying $20.00 for a tamale is pretty astonishing unless you're in NYC at Le Grenouille. The place seemed a little pricey for latin food that is typically inexpensive. I understand that the ingredients are local and so forth but-I'd love to return but I'd rather get a $3.00 tamale at this place that I know that taste great and is homemade.
First experience here for nine of us. Everyone was pleased . Atmosphere very nice, food was excellent and different than the usual chicken and pasta dishes. Even the desserts were fabulous, Definitely will come again!
Nice experience. Tasty food, portion controlled.
It was amazing, would definently be back again. I love that they have both vegetarian and vegan options!
The management was beyond amazing. They were very accommodating to my large group and all the last minute changes I had to make. The alcoholic & non alcoholic drinks were amazing. The food was ok. Not really for my taste buds, however, what I might find okay you might find amazing. The potions were too little for the price tag. My waiter was inattentive, and lack people skills. One of the waitress dropped a dirty utilities on me and did not apologize. She said and I quote “ooohh she’s going to murder me” than walked off. It was my birthday and I felt highly disrespected. She got food stain on my dress.
Overall, the ambience and management was the only good experience I got.
We had a great dinner at soca!!!!
The food is absolutely delicious and the drinks and service matched the food. Everything was great!
It's so fun to try the different small plates and share them with the table. The pork cheeks are fantastic. For something different we ordered the quinoa stuffed avocado which was also great. You can't go wrong with the salmon. The Jamaican lamb patties were perfectly spiced but the curried cauliflower, while good, seemed to miss a little on flavor. There was plenty of choices in wine and Marshall did an excellent job serving us. I've been to soca several times and enjoy it every time.
overvalued and overpriced food even though service was nice.
The food and service is great. Good wine list and cocktails to match. The staff is always very attentive, friendly, and go out of their way to make sure you enjoy the experience, Overall a great place to visit on a regular night out or for special occasions.
I can’t say a bad word...
The food was excellent! We had not visited in past 18 months due to pandemic. I was looking forward to a dish on the menu, Jamaican Fried Rice that was no longer available. Our server told us they had moved to locally sourced products and the new items on the menu were delicious. I tried the black bean empanadas and pepper rubbed rib eye, both were delicious!
It’s beautiful but being from the Caribbean and my boyfriend from Latin America, we were not impressed with the food. Definitely overpriced. Overall, will not return.
Best food in Raleigh. LOVE this place. Cocktails great too. It's expensive, but I'd rather eat out less and come here than have mediocre food more often.
Food was great! My date was not lol
Excellent waitress and food was extraordinary. My new go to restaurant.
Great wine list. Seafood stew like dish with salmon, prawn and clams was outstanding. Service from a young NCSU student was superb. Nice outdoor seating except for the traffic noise.
Not a big selection of foods. We have been there before and thought it better.
Second visit was as good as the first. We will definitely return. Great patio seating.
