Small Barn is an exciting addition to the Temecula restaurant landscape offering a casual but elevated dining experience in the form of a modern bistro. Three-time Top Chef All-star, Angelo Sosa, has created a menu inspired by classic preparations found on bistro menus around the globe while showcasing the bounty of ingredients produced in the region. The restaurant atmosphere is crafted to be a welcoming gathering place that is beautifully designed and relaxed, but with a vibrant energy that encourages socializing and discovery.

On the site of the historic Knott Family Homestead, Small Barn has brought new life to a landmark building from the early 1900s. Great care has gone into preserving the structure and with it the legacy of a prominent Temecula family that was among the area’s first settlers. Small Barn has maintained the original residential scale and offers extensive outdoor seating including the large wrap-around porch, covered patio and fireside lounge seating.

Great food, great service, great ambiance...I wish more restaurants were like this. Amazing brunch: quiche, eggs Benedict (the eggs are prepared differently and it is wonderful), beet salad and Processco splits.

This experience was my fault for not understanding this restaurant's theme. You may want this type of experience. Small portion plates with some unique seating options. The most disappointing part was the seating. We had a reservation, and this was our first adult only dinner since the pandemic. We were seated on a bench seat by the door to the restaurant. The table to hold the food was at knee height, like a coffee table. After 8 months of quarentine eating at my couch or at my desk working, I wanted to cry that I couldn't eat this $100 meal at an adult table like everyone else. There were plenty of tables, but we were given the "cozy" table as described by the host. I should have said something, but I did not want to cause an issue for the staff. Food portions are very small, and I guess you are meant to order more than just one plate per person. 2 drinks and 2 plates were $105 with tip. We asked for our check immediately and went to a restaurant next door to eat a full meal since we were still hungry.

Fantastic service. Very friendly servers. The food was fresh and delicious. We ordered the french fries which were the best fries I've ever had. Crispy and yummy. We also had the avocado toast with salmon and egg - so good. The chef brought us his pumpkin spiced flan for dessert. Can't wait to go back for dinner!

We went for my 21st birthday and it was definitely a special occasion restaurant for us. It was so pretty with the lights and the music, I really enjoyed it. Our waitress I believe her name was Hannah was very nice and helped us pick out our drinks, very knowledgeable of the menu. The location is very good & it was definitely Covid-19 friendly. Our temperature was taken before entering and the tables were spaced out. The food and drinks were delicious!

Plan to spend a little more than usual when dining here at Small Barn. It is completely worth the experience and your palate will definitely thank you. We love the esthetics and ambiance of the restaurant .... the knowledgeable staff .... the food is delicious and presentation is on point .... drinks are great too! Reservations are the best way to enjoy a great evening here. Menu changes a little with the changing of the seasons.

Overall nice place with decent farm to table food. The ahi tuna needs some type of crunch, wonton chips or something. The avocado toast was good but bread is sliced too thick. The quiche was a bit dry could use a sauce. The beet salad was delicious and our favorite!!!

It’s always a positive to eat where a true chef does his or her work. The menu is creative and the pairings are spot on. Old Town offers so many options but it’s going to be hard not to choose the this gem when we head this way.

We had a great dinner overall at Small Barn. The food was absolutely amazing, everything we had (ahi tuna, steak frites, Petaluma chicken, leek soup, asparagus) was soo good. Drinks were also really good. The only thing missing unfortunately was the service. We asked 3 times for ketchup and never received it. We had also asked for an additional soup and never received it- we weren’t charged at least. I’m pretty sure they opened fairly recently, so probably still working out the kinks with service. The food was so outstanding though that we will definitely be back!

This was such an extraordinary experience . Very chic the food was absolutely delicious I cannot express how fabulous the staff was so courteous and friendly the service was extremely efficient . It was a ideal place for a date and also doubled as a good brunch spot to meet up with friends. I love the outdoor seating area.

Charming new restaurant with excellent service from the hostess, server and the busboy. Food was prepared & seasoned perfectly. Would like more appetizers, although asparagus with egg and ham was great, seemed more like breakfast. The poke was great. Wine selection great too. 2 appetizers, main entrees for 2, bottle of wine, & a shared dessert was about $250 for this business lunch and it was a great experience.

The hostess and our server were so nice, accommodating, and attentive people. By boyfriend and I shared a carafe of red wine, a bowl of potato leek soup, the salmon for the entree and the pumpkin flan for dessert. I recommend ALL of them. We enjoyed the crispy salmon skin with the tiny dollop of chutney on top then running our fork through the green sauce. The soup was creamy and had herbs sprinkled on top and the flan, although really sweet, had shredded white cheese on top adding to its savory was savory. We’ll come back here when we’re in town.

The food is beyond amazing with the perfect balance of sweet, spicy, crunchy, and soft. Every bite tastes so good. Second time here and everything I've tried has been the best. The chef is a true master! The wait staff and hostess were friendly and prompt. They serve gluten free dishes that is marked on the menu and they were very knowledgeable about them. The ambiance is unique with the outside dirt floor, fire pit, and benches. All the waiters abided by COVD regulations with masks and cleaning of the tables & chairs after each use. By far, the best restaurant in Temecula & all of the surrounding areas. I will be back!

We had an exceptional experience! Despite the weather (it was raining), we were comfortable sitting under the overhang on the patio. We had the broccolini, roasted chicken and the ahi dishes and all were incredibly flavorful, attractively presented, and perfectly prepared. I fashion myself a foodie and I'd highly recommend this place. You can't go wrong!

The food was good however...... Two of us ordered the salmon. We paid $48 for 2 small pieces of salmon that did not come with any side dish. I feel like that was expensive for not even a baked potato or small side of veggies to go along with the dish.

I grew up in Temecula and this has become one of my favorites. I do wish they had a few more options in terms of food. Seasonal rotating menu possibly? A little pricier but worth it for a date night or special occasion

Heard about this restaurant through a church friend and decided to take my wife on a date night. Also did some research into the restaurant and found out that the chef is from top chef and that the owners are local wine growers in Temecula. Looked at pictures and the story behind opening the restaurant.

Fiendishly nestled into a busy corner on old town Temecula‘s main drag, chef Angelos new restaurant is offering insanely imaginative and well designed plates at quite honestly great prices. The menu, from starters through dessert, need to be mined several times to taste everything. We had Petaluma chicken and salmon one day and broccolini & eggs Benedict the next.

Overall nice place to have brunch or lunch. Had to wait even with advance reservations,
