Small Barn is an exciting part of the Temecula restaurant landscape offering a casual but elevated dining experience in the form of a modern bistro. The menu is inspired by classic preparations found on bistro menus around the globe while showcasing the bounty of ingredients produced in the region. The restaurant atmosphere is crafted to be a welcoming gathering place that is beautifully designed and relaxed, but with a vibrant energy that encourages socializing and discovery.

On the site of the historic Knott Family Homestead, Small Barn has brought new life to a landmark building from the early 1900s. Great care has gone into preserving the structure and with it the legacy of a prominent Temecula family that was among the area’s first settlers. Small Barn has maintained the original residential scale and offers extensive outdoor seating including the large wrap-around porch, covered patio and fireside lounge seating.

The new menu has kicked everything up a notch!! Same incredible service and new items to crave, crudo top drawer, pork chop perfect and roast chicken exquisite.

Great food, great atmosphere, great service!!!! We were there on a Saturday night when it was fairly busy, but you wouldn’t know that by the quality and service.

My husband told the waitress he’s allergic to dairy. He ordered the chicken dinner. The waitress thought the Parmesan was in the breadcrumbs, so she discussed with us, taking off the breadcrumbs and preparing the chicken in olive oil versus butter. We thought that sounded good. But when it was delivered, it turns out there was shaved Parmesan still in the salad the chicken was sitting on! We let her know this. She apologized, but did not offer any deductions. We later thought a portion of our meal should’ve been Compensated.

Wonderful and service. The broiled feta is a great opener to all the amazing dishes they have. The setting is amazing along with staff making it a premier place to dine with friends and family.

Took forever to get our orders in. We only saw the waitress once. Couldn’t even order additional drinks or simple salt & pepper. By the time they came around food was cold and we were ready to go. When I gave the waitress feedback she was dismissive.

Waitress was not very knowledgeable about substitutions or accommodations for dietary restrictions. Food was decent. I wore sandals and got sand in my shoes because the grounds were not paved...just a thought!

We went for brunch on Easter Sunday with our 4 teen and tween kids. Sat on the patio in one of their tables with padded booth-like seating. Super clean, kind of trendy and cute all around. Great Umbrella coverage so you don’t get too much sun. My husband and I shared the Eggs Benedict and Ube French Toast. The Ube French Toast looks crazy purple but tastes delish, very nice flavor, not too strong with the Ube or the matcha. Kids got Steak and Eggs, Eggs Your Way and smoked salmon avocado toast. We also ordered the butter cake for dessert. I would actually give this place a 4-1/2 stars just because the portion size seems a little on the small side but that being said, we walked away not feeling overly stuffed with a stomach ache so that was nice. Very good overall, we would go back. Beautiful relaxing setting for Easter Sunday and staff was attentive and friendly.
