Delicious dinner and excellent service.
The view, cocktails food and waiters were amazing, unfortunately it did take nearly 2 hours for our mains to come but the host did come over and apologise that their kitchen was busy.
It was wonderful to come back to Skylon, still amazing vibes and good food
slow service but we did not mind as we were soaking the atmosphere on the last day before the second lock down
safe environment and although packed it did feel very safe and social distance was observed
Cant wait to go back
Thank you really lovely service and food despite challenging times
I’d dined at Skylon in the past but this time round it lacked atmosphere and was not as exclusive somehow. It felt cavernous as only half the restaurant was open. The food was ok but not extraordinary. Service was ok but again not special.
The service was exceptional, the food was great. Nothing was too much trouble and the restaurant has such a good vibe
Beautiful food with excellent service. I would highly recommend.
Service was great. Food was extremely poor, we paid over £100 for 2 courses each and tap water - some of the food just didn’t taste nice, other parts were over cooked. Such a same because the staff were lovely and location was great. Really wanted to like it but food hugely let it down. Unfortunately we would not go back
A wonderful afternoon brunch!
Good brunch
Honestly good food and service , good view at the venue.
Too much salt in the food for my liking
The food served did not match that on the menu - in fact it seemed oven chips were served instead of the intended veg accompaniment to our steaks. Pretty disappointing, especially as we're has ordered a side of mash to have some carbs with our meal and hence ended up with 2x carbs and no vegetables.
Also, only offered "pink" or "well done" for the steak, which felt a little odd
Excellent food and service at the Skylon. My mum and I had a lovely evening out. The waiting staff were attentive, but not overly, and the timings between courses long enough to make it a leisurely meal. They have changed the menu since Summer and I can highly recommend the cod. Glasses of wine are pricey but you do get a generous pour. It's not a cheap night out but you are also paying to get the lovely setting and views over the river, book a window seat of possible.
Great food and generous portions, even on the fixed menu. The service is also excellent.
Great atmosphere great service great views great food
The service was excellent and the food was so fresh and tasty. Highly recommend.
Great menu options, great service and views. Would recommend for a birthday or overdue catch up.
Happy to be back there! Had the steak which was VERY salty. Would have been 5 out of 5 for that if not.
Decent table. Plexiglass dividers. Good set menu. Disappointing desert but was taken off the bill without asking so good service overall. Busier than expected on a Thursday evening 7pm.
Booked a table by the window for wedding anniversary. A bit sparse due to COVID restrictions (no table cloth). Reasonably priced glass of champagne. The Dover Sole shared between two was absolutely superb, and with nice glass of wine. Dessert with "Happy Anniversary" script in chocolate was the final touch.
Good food. We felt health and safety coronavirus training needed to be improved.
1) Ill-fitting masks constantly falling below noses.
2) water constantly being refilled bringing waiter into close contact with customer
could have left full carafe with us.
3) My card was taken from me by waiter even though it was a contactless payment which didn't need to happen
Big windows, high ceilings and classic deco provides a sense of calm elegance. Great service, lovely food perfect for special occasions or friends catching up.
Good selection on the set menu but the main did arrive only on the warm (rather than hot) side. Simple classic food carefully prepared and well presented.
I will definitely go again
Visited for brunch. Food good and service excellent, but it was more lunch with a few breakfast options than brunch, and coffee and orange juice would have been nice. It was also strange that although bottomless Prosecco was on offer, it was not possible to buy a single bottle.
Given the present restrictions still managed an exceptional dining experience. Fantastic service and top quality food from the return to work menu. Highly recommended.
Booked Skylon for a business lunch. This place has obviously seen better days and was virtually empty, and I now know why. Prices were sky high (4 prawns for £9...really?!), we waited a LONG time for our simple mains from the terrace menu - roast beef sandwiches. These were covered in Marie Rose sauce - great for a prawn cocktail but a beef sandwich...never! We returned them to the kitchen and eventually got them back with horseradish sauce as intended. With no apology, and no offer of a reduction in the extortionate bill. We will not be returning.
Nice venue & service but was overpriced for the food served - nice but expect better for the cost
The food was beautiful for the value! The staff made the experience a lot of fun.
First outing to a restaurant since covid and chose skylon as remembered it to be spacious and airy. Excellent arrival procedure with screens, temperature check etc and staff in appropriate PPE. Food, Drinks and service lovely as always and great value on the set menu. Overall it felt like a relaxed and enjoyable experience. Thanks Skylon team x
Disappointed with food i had to return fish and chips and beef was lackig in flavour
Porr wine choice
Shame because good service and ambience
Thai place is a good find, we used the set menu which is really good and we enjoyed our visit very much.
Very good value for EOTHO
Another lovely meal with views over the Thames. Great service the staff friendly, and efficient.
Delicious food with attentive but discreet service. Lovely views and all in all a thoughly enjoyable and leisurely afternoon.
We didn't have a great experience at Skylon, the food wasn't great and coupled with slow and delayed service, made the whole experience quite disappointing. We won't be going back anytime soon.
The 3 course deal is actually £30 because of the service charge which I found quite sneaky but the food was great! Waiters were lovely but had a bad habit of not lowering their visors over their face, lore training is definitely needed.
Good but a bit pricy
Very welcoming when we lived, sanitiser and clean. Service was excellent, rend and efficient. Lovely new and experience.
Our evening at Skylon was really lovely and great value for money with the discounts currently on offer. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and and he really made the evening feel special. Our set menu was lovely - the salmon tartare and crispy duck were fantastic as we shared two starters because we couldn't decide which to choose! Cocktails were nice, although the list was a wee bit limited and my Skylon martini seemed a little bit weak or watered down, but was still delicious although very sweet. The only real downside to the evening was the temperature as it was so hot inside with the sun shining through the wall of windows overlooking the Southbank - a bit more air con and the evening would have been five stars. I would still definitely recommend a meal there or drinks at the bar as the staff really made things special.
Staff were pleasant and efficient and seemed to be geared up for Covid. I was disappointed that they placed diners together when the restaurant is large enough to space people out more and that would have been sensible in terms of Covid. Food was tasty - nothing exceptional but nothing to complain about. Overall it was enjoyable
