El Shinsei Restaurant es un bar de sushi tradicional con una cocina panasiática. Con el concepto del Shinsei, queríamos un local que reflejara nuestro estilo de vida: a veces salimos a cenar con los niños y otras veces, con los amigos y la pareja. Queríamos crear un lugar en el que los adultos no tuvieran que comer platillos para niños y en el que los niños no tuvieran que comportarse como adultos. Eso es exactamente el Shinsei: un local de barrio ideal para salir a cenar. La comida es intrigante pero reconocible, amena pero casera. Las especialidades de la casa, por ejemplo, son una mezcla sofisticada de comida de bar de noche y canapés suntuosos con un toque asiático.

Not our first visit. The service continues to be excellent. Our server was Tammy, who has served us before. She made several suggestions and as usual, she helped clarify the dishes before ordering. We had several small plates, all were excellent. They included steamed dumplings of the day, short rib potstickers and a salmon sashimi. Other small dishes have also been excellent. Do get reservations. Highly recommended.

Some of the best Sushi in Dallas… so many great Roles. The Peking Duck is also incredible! I also recommend the Dumpling Sampler when available. I prefer the courtyard room as the bar in the main dining room can become crowded, and a bit too noisy for those with hearing aids. The adorable Neko & Inu chopstick holders are for sale... Whenever we bring guests or do Birthdays, we purchased theirs (which are then wrapped in a to-go box) as a memento of their evening.

Shinsei is my wife's absolute favorite restaurant, we go there for almost every special occasion dinner. I always tell people that she would eat every meal there, every day, if she could. That said, her birthday dinner there last night was disappointing. The food was amazing, as always. The service was slow and inattentive throughout the full length of our visit, even though we were sitting directly across from the wait station at the bar. Things like refilling our drinks, bringing sides that were requested, asking if we wanted dessert, etc were apparently not a priority to them. Also, male employees staring at my wife made her uncomfortable...it was very noticeable even to me. Update: the restaurant’s management was very responsive re: our dinner experience. We will visit again to enjoy more amazing sushi.

Carter and team crushed it at the Bar Monday night. We arrived for early dinner, saw several friends from the area and enjoyed half price wine night. Specials were great. So were our usual favs- Hawaiian Sashimi, Lenea’s Sashimi, Esping special…love the rock shrimp and mushroom salad to start. Fun wine list. Great cocktails. Upstairs bar is also a sneaky fun spot if downstairs is packed.

We are regular diners with Shin Sei and it's our favorite sushi choice in Dallas. Last night was terrible. We arrived at 4:50 for our 5:00 reservation (had to be at the hospital later) and we sat at the sushi bar. Service was terrible; slow, didn't bring our drinks correctly, had to wait for anything prepared in the kitchen (as opposed to the items from the sushi bar which were fast, tasty and delivered with a smile). At 5:50 we asked for our waiter as we needed to go and were still waiting on two dishes. The dishes arrived immediately and the black cod was dry and the shrimp tempura was panko. Now in fairness, the waiter asked how we wanted the shrimp tempura prepared so that's how we ordered it but in all the years we've been dining at Shin Sei, we've never been asked how to prepare tempura. We normally order tempura shrimp and/or veggies at every sushi restaurant in a variety of cities and never has it come out other than tempura style. The restaurant wasn't busy buy we drew a bad waiter last night.

It’s was our anniversary. The staff was attentive, professional and made our night very special. The food and environment was amazing.
