Shine Restaurant & Potion Bar
Great tasting, high quality food, served by friendly attentive wait staff! Perfect family dinner before a show at the Dairy.
Fabulous service and amazing food!
Very nice and relaxing dinner on the patio on a perfect summer evening. The cocktails were refreshing and the food was spectacular! Hats off to the chef! Our server was also very pleasant and was always there when we needed her, but she didn’t hover around us all night.
Great experience and will definitely make this a regular spot for a great meal.
Super kind and generous with honoring celebrations! Food wasn’t my favorite but still very pretty (I recommend the Mac and Cheese during happy hour).
This place is perfect for anyone who is following a Paleo/gluten-free/dairy-free diet. I had the seasonal stir-fry, and it was delicious! My husband had the tacos, and those were just "ok." Overall, I would definitely eat there again!
The paleo and vegan options were among the best choices compared to other restaurants in Denver, Boulder, Brooding making it easy to select SHINE.
Not good. We all ordered burgers, beef and veggie. My friends and I were uncomfortable the rest of the evening. The restaurant was loud, with piles of materials lying in sight of customers. Drinks were not good. Won’t be returning.
Fresh ingredients and very good food Very noisy already at 6.30 Friday night, probably due to high ceiling without any noise insulation. Slow and inaccurate service.
They have an amazingly healthy and tasty menu. Try their potions - also available to take home (and their cookbook!)
The food was ok, the ambiance wasn’t great (was looking out at the parking area of a hardware store). The portions were highly touted but didn’t do anything for me. Service was decent but the surprising part was that an 18% tip was added to the bill without my approval. I normally tip 20% for good service but was taken aback by the tip being added without asking me especially when we are a “small group” of 3 people (including a child). Haven’t seen that before. Anyway, all in all, a rather underwhelming experience.
For a gluten and dairy free diner, this was paradise.
Really good food offering different dishes to other local areas. Wish the menu was a little broader but I guess that’s the price you pay for super fresh ingredients!
Well now we can at least say we tried it but will not be back. The food was underwhelming.
Magical atmosphere on the patio in the evening, great service from our waiter even though he was working a double. Delicious food and beverages!
Finding gluten-free, vegan food that tastes amazing is always easy at SHINE!!
I LOVE SHINE!!
We went there for mother’s day and we ended up leaving without our entrees. We got there before 6 pm and by 7:10 pm, we still did not have our food. For a long time, our waitress stopped showing up at our table, so we did not have a chance to ask where our food is, or to ask for our check. Eventually, after 7, our waitress showed up to tell us that our ticket got lost and the kitchen was just now starting to make our food *but that they would be happy to give us a round of their “potions” on the house. The waitress was not authorized by her manager to comp any of our food, which was over an hour late. We left and decided to never come back. The appetizers we had received relatively timely were pretty good, which is why I gave it 3 stars. Even so, there are many better choices in Boulder.
Great place - food is very "Boulder" which was fun for the foodies in the family. Wonderful mothers day treat for my wife!
Unexpectedly loved this place. Didn't think I would because it's in outdoor mall area but food and service were great and drinks were amazing!
They over charged me 10.00
On my credit card.
After I found out I went back and they gave me a gift card to compensate
The Mother’s Day menu was a bit disappointing. This was not the day to remove pancakes from the menu! If this is a Potions restaurant, how can you not have flavors for your coffee? Love the outdoor area and the atmosphere is bright and cheery. Really comfortable high-top chairs. Who doesn’t love a fairymosa?
I come to Shine regularly - this is my favorite restaurant in Boulder! Love the healthy food, potions, drinks, atmosphere and the sisters!
The potions were fabulous and fun!!
With 3 Celiacs in our family-this place was a dream!!!! I’m still thinking about the biscuits!!!!
Love the entire Gluten free menu!
The potions are unique and creative as well!
Service this time was horrible.
I thought the food was very good. The service was a bit slow.
I am delighted to write this review for Shine Restaurant & Potion Bar. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was relaxed, the service went above and beyond for our table's food allergies, and the potions were spectacular. We will be back for more and will bring friends and family.
My new favorite restaurant! Outstanding! We are grateful to know we have somewhere to go that is a treat and options to fit our eating preferences.
The food was delicious. Great attention to detail. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We LOVE Shine - both as a gf dedicated restaurant, and also for terrific food. There is always something yummy to look forward to at any time of the day. It's healthy, tasty, and makes-you-feel-good food. Over the years we have tried almost everything on the menu and never been disappointed. For those with special diet needs - you get plenty of choices and I've even taken my football playing nephews from Nebraska and they've filled themselves happily with several choices and of course - sweet potato or yucca fries. Shine is also a great place for two other features - a bar with everything from Shine's famous potions to alcoholic choices AND the wonderful patio that's perfect for outdoor eating. Thank you to the "sisters" for taking care of us!
Service was painfully slow. They clearly did not anticipate being busy for brunch on Easter Sunday, which is hard to believe.
First time to Shine and adding to the favorites list! It’s hard to find good healthy food so I was very excited to find this place.
Magic Hour is the best!! Try the beef sliders and sweet potato fries. Shine is an excellent restaurant for those who avoid gluten and soy.
The noise level was way too high to be able to converse. The food was OK, but the selection quite limited. Might be better if one could eat on the patio.
This used to be one of my favorite restauraunts... So nice to eat “allergy free” that tastes wonderful, but since they’ve moved to their “McGuckins” location, both the service and food, as well as the ambiance have gone down hill; For example, serving a brand of pasta and cookies that I can buy from the store and charging more than 3 times as much. Two people having a regular meal, no alcohol for $120 seems steep, even for Boulder.
Service was thoughtful & sweet for a 90 year olds birthday
Love this place! I recently discovered it while in Boulder. The entire menu is GLUTEN FREE! What a plus for me - and the food is excellent! The biscuits are some of the best I've ever had, even when I could eat gluten! The staff is attentive and the service is good.
I was not impressed at all. I ordered the seasonal stirfry with lamb and it did not have a good taste at all. I thought the potions were juice but I guess not. Our waitress did not explain anything well and the presentation was nothing to write home. I also ordered soup but the waitress never brought it. I would never go back.
Shine is my go-to place for healthy, festive food. The "magic hour" options are varied and delightful. A couple of my personal favorites are the gluten-free mac and cheese (magic hour) and the gf alfredo (on the dinner menu). Yucca fries are a nice alternative to the also delicious sweet potato fries. This is one of the only places I know of, as well, that has gluten free biscuits. What a treat!
