The wood-fire oven is central to both the menu and the dining experience, from the incredible homemade, wood-fired pita to vegetable-centric small plates and heartier entrees. Many of the dishes on the diverse menu are meant to be shared and enjoyed throughout many courses.

Our favorite for the food and service. Delicious.
Delicious food presented beautifully all at the same to our large party on the lovely patio. Every item we ordered from appetizers to desserts and cocktails were a hit! We’ll be back every time we return to NOLA!
Everything was wonderful! Food, service, ambiance and ESPECIALLY the pita bread. We couldn’t have had a better experience!
Desserts can be better like before. Hummus was good but the new squash hummus need more flavor to it and please don’t make crispy halloumi accompaniment sweet.
Great food. Impeccable service.
We are a group of friends visiting from out of state. We had been to Shaya when we were here 4 years ago & loved it.
It more than lived up to our memories. The food is like
no other & the service outstanding. Highly recommend!
The food was delicious and beautifully plated. BEST pita ever. Lunch for 2 people without wine ran to $60 (pre-tax) which is pricey but worth the occasional splurge.
Fab. Needed more wait staff, quieter acoustics, 76 degrees not 66.
Our server, Lee was awesome! He had great recommendations and was so personable. It was our first time at Shaya (we learned about it from Somebody Feed Phil) and it did not disappoint. We will definitely be back!
My girlfriend and I enjoyed a nice meal. We will definitely be back.
Masterfully made pita. Hummus beyond description. Lamb...codero, magnificent.
My wife and I went here for our Anniversary dinner. We enjoyed the entire experience.
Simply outstanding. The blackened shrimp humus was spicy and flavorful and creamy. The shrimp were perfectly cooked. The whipped cream cheese spread we ordered helped cut the heat perfectly. (Next time we’re adding the caviar.) The Israeli salad was divine, and I don’t even love cucumbers! The skirt steak dish was amazing and paired perfectly with the Israeli wine recommended by our waiter. Not enough accolades to express. We’ll definitely be back.
A disappointing meal. Service snafus and too doughy pitas left us less enthralled than prior visits.
Delicious middle eastern cuisine!
We love shaya but bc we go pretty often we would love it if you can change the menu a but. We are vegetarian and every time order the same things.
Great food, helpful service. Patio is ideal this time of year. The open table reservation should reinforce the city mandate that vaccination documents must be brought to the restaurant.
Food was exceptional! Service was excellent and even served a complimentary glass of champagne as we were celebrating our anniversary!
Limited menu, I think nicer if had seasonal specials
The food, service and ambiance was better than I could have imagined and it’s impacts like this that turn occasional diners into repeat customers- Well Done!
Our server was wonderful. Food was great. We had been warned about ordering too much food so we had 2 small plates and then had room for babka! Shared all. Leftovers too! Loved it. We will go back.
Hummas and bread was great; stick with that and a glass of wine. Large plate (salmon) was overcooked and much too salty. Music was overbearing.
Small plates and the OUTSTANDING Pita is the way to go at this fine restaurant. Had the 5 piece Salatim to begin and each one was excellent. Followed that with the Tahini and Blackened Shrimp which had a very nice flavor. Drink menu was nice with a good selection of unique cocktails. Service was excellent with good timing of bringing out the dishes along with keeping water full and ensuring we had enough Pita to go with the dishes.
Outstanding waitstaff, very creative menu, the best of Louisiana and Israel!
Shaya is one of my favorite restaurants in the city, and for good reason. The service is always wonderful, and the food is consistently astounding. I’d go back every week if I could just for the cocktails and the pita alone!
Shaya was incredible. Best hummus I have ever had - fried chicken on top! The service was wonderful and we had a great bottle of Israeli Chardonnay. Music was a bit loud and did not really reflect the vibe of the restaurant, but that is my only criticism.
Incredible food. Best hummus ever. Couscous was reinvented. Service was great. Cute clean dining experience.
We enjoyed our anniversary dinner and started with a bottle of the Italian Pinot noir. Our server was knowledgeable and appropriately timed. Fantastic squash, brown butter and pecan hummus and loved the Israeli salad and crispy haloumi. For our large plates the red shrimp was a wonderful complex of flavors and had a subtle wow factor. And salmon was our other choice. Enjoyed the custard dessert with pears and a scoop of cappuccino ice cream. And two glasses of champagne from our server was a wonderful way to finish the toast of our evening...thank you Shaya...your menu has variety and everything was delicious! Thank you! And thank you for checking vaccination cards!!!
The food, service, and atmosphere were all absolutely amazing! I think we have a new favorite restaurant in New Orleans.
First dinner out in New Orleans and it did not disappoint! Kayla was wonderful and on point with her recommendations!
Totally impressed. Food was delicious and service was great. The cocktails were amazing!!!!! Perfect evening
So. Good. The hummus, bread fresh from the oven, the balance of flavors. I will be back.
The food is fabulous!
Excelente service and food, great cocktails too! Perfect lunch!
Great food and plenty of options for vegans/ vegetarians. We had a wonderful evening.
Amazing service and delicious food!
We visited New Orleans for my wife’s birthday and even though this is not a traditional Cajun/creole restaurant we saw so many great reviews that we had to try it. I can tell you one thing, every time I go back or if I know someone is going to NOLA then Shaya is a Must!!!! Maybe one of the best meals I have ever had. It was amazing.
Everything was great from the service to the food. I’ll be back!
The salmon with corn was very very vinegary. The hummus was incredible as always, everything else was great. Just think something went wrong with the salmon. It was fresh and other than that would’ve been good had they put less vinegar
Not as good as my first visit. Probably because it was Monday night. Staff seemed lethargic. Ikra was as great without the caviar. Red shrimp were a little overcooked.
Will give it another try, though.
