The wood-fire oven is central to both the menu and the dining experience, from the incredible homemade, wood-fired pita to vegetable-centric small plates and heartier entrees. Many of the dishes on the diverse menu are meant to be shared and enjoyed throughout many courses.

The food was amazing! Everything was so flavorful and delicious. The best hummus I’ve ever had. And except for the tuna crudo, we accidentally went vegetarian and the flavors were incredible. I wish we lived here so we could eat here all the time!
. In a city full of delicious food, it’s hard to find one that tops. Shaya did just that. Everyone was super nice. Our waiter had fantastic recommendations. Fried chicken hummus, slow cooked lamb. Etc. I don’t think you can go wrong w any of the dishes. Highly recommended.
The sleepy disinterested welcome at the reception desk was a poor and telling way to start our first post-covid shutdown visit to Shaya. Let's be honest, we all come for the hot fresh bread and all the hummus, labneh and dips (these are the stars, it has never been the ok meats or the typical falafel) - but when the pita comes to the table cold the purpose of eating at Shaya is lost. Some bread came hot thru the meal and some didn't. Service was bored. The kitchen must have been bored as the food was just fine - not the frisky plates we used to love. Shaya is good still even in its diminished state - just don't come thinking you are still eating at a James Beard buzzy place - those days are long gone. In the mood for this type of cuisine? There are much better quality, more adventurous and better priced options with some new spots around town - the moral of the story is that if you happen to be in the neighborhood and there is an open table go for it - but certainly not worth seeking out. Sigh
Food was delish!! The waitress was very friendly and helped us with the menu. She also kept the delicious bread coming! Wonderful lunch!
Never disappoints! Always delicious!
Our reserved table wasn’t ready when we arrived. The hostess really seemed to want us to eat at the bar. We declined, and then a couple who showed up after us was seated first.
The food was fantastic and our server was great.
It was pretty packed so if you have covid concerns, skip this one or get seated outside.
Beautiful, delicious food that surprises your senses in a lovely atmosphere. Shaya is on our list of favorites for future trips to New Orleans.
One of the best restaurants we have ever eaten in!
Absolutely delicious and very warm environment. Loved this experience.
The lamb ragu humus and the lamb main are extremely good
Food was good, service left a lot to desired. We had a table for two reserved, and our seat was literally was in the walkway. When asked them to change, they said no; yhis is the seats fir two persons. The others r for 4. The next few guest that arrived were all two; n they all got seated in the seats for 4…. What’s fair here management??
Avery, our server, was outstanding. She guided me through the menu (I have a lot of food allergies) and I was able to enjoy many of their dishes safely. It was a great experience!
Shaya was lovely.
The space was open and bright, clean and sophisticated but still welcoming.
The service was punctual and not overly personal; I never wanted for a thing. We were very well taken care of.
We shared the Labne, baba ganoush and another dip with caviar. The order listed was definitely my preference, the Labne was AMAZING.
We also had the lamb hummus, I was a bit thrown off by the texture of the ground meat but the flavor was impeccable.
All of this of course was consumed used my hands the THE MOST SPECTACULAR pita bread I have ever had in my entire life.
She slip the tenderloin kabob which was perfectly cooked and accompanied by a delicious slightly spicy sauce.
Cocktail was chefs kiss 💋
We forwent desert as we were stuffed.
Despite this being a best restaurant we really went to chase the flavors showcase by chef Shaya and after eating here can't wait to try Saba.
Food was outstanding. We got way more than we could eat but it was great sharing food with everyone and enjoying the night. Can’t wait to go back.
Amazing menu! We had such a hard time deciding between all the delectable-sounding options, and the food we went with was memorable and delicious. The staff are so nice and hospitable, and we had an awesome experience! I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic meal in New Orleans!
We had a wonderful lunch here. Always one of our stops in NOLA. The fried chicken hummus was very good, a perfect combination of sweet & spicy. The lamb kofta was our other choice & it was equally as good. It takes a lot of talent to successfully combine the spices & flavors offered by their dishes, a true party in your mouth !
My wife and I celebrated our 40th anniversary there. It was our first visit and I'm so glad we chose SHAYA. Our server Kimberly was friendly and attentive. The food was excellent from start to finish!
We dined in the patio where it was quiet and romantic. Kudos to the staff for making it a memorable evening.
Shaya had no record of our Open Table reservation
We received great service! Our waiter was very knowledgeable.
Food, Service, and atmosphere was perfect for a date night. We really enjoyed ourselves and look forward to returning.
The menu was simple but well developed. The food was very flavorful from the hummus, lamb, to the fish. Our server did a great job. The bartender made some tasty cocktails.
Everything from the drinks to the desert was fantastic, one of the best restaurants I’ve ever even to!!
Top of my list for sure! I’ll be back!!
Food and service were both excellent! Fried chicken hummus is my fave!
The restaurant is cozy and relatively quiet, with only a little background music. The staff, from the hostess, waitstaff, to the management was extremely friendly and helpful. The starters were very good, especially the pickles veggies. On the recommendation of the manager, Mike, we tried the fried chicken hummus. It was to die for. For entrees, we had the lamb and the red snapper. The snapper, with the crispy skin, was white and flaky. The lamb fell off the bone. I don't remember the desserts we tried, but I think I remember them also being very good ( I was kinda in a food coma experience. Our friends, who had never eaten Israeli food,, were very pleased also. All around, it was a great experince. Highly reccomend.
Lunch celebration for son’s graduation. Fried chicken hummus. Amazing! Simply love this restaurant.
Eating at Shaya is always a delight! We had wine and starters and small plates and were completely satisfied. The lamb dishes are divine. We'll be back.
Awesome food and great service! Unique and wonderful flavors

We always love Shaya. The food and service are outstanding. Every-time we are in town we eat there and this time we brought friend!
Absolutely amazing. One of the best meals you can have in New Orleans
Took my girlfriend here for our 1 year anniversary and it was amazing. They brought us upstairs to the private dining area and the food was killer. The best Lebanese/Greek food I've ever had. The service was great and the food did not take long at all to come out to our table. I will definitely be eating here again !
Always great, we love the food and service. Keep up the good work.
You have to go! Take a friend and split lots of dishes! It’s excellent!
Shaya never disappoints! It’s one of my favorite spots in the city and one I recommend to anyone who asks. Food and service were great as usual.
Grilled Shrimp hummus was spectacular paired with the deliciously fluffy pita bread that's Shaya's specialty. I'd eat it any day.
The food was delicious! So many different flavors that made for a fun dining experience, and the warm pita bread is everything! Also, cauliflower hummus is always a favorite!
Amazing food with very tasty combinations of ingredients not to mention middle eastern spices
What a treat
