Dena was fantastic! Great experience. Looking forward to bringing my daughter back soon.
Had a wonderful time! Sat in the courtyard and enjoyed hummus and falafel.
The food was delicious and loved sitting outside in the back. Very quiet and beautiful.
Really amazing food, so glad it was recommended to us by a tour guide.
Excellent food, well thought out menu and the service is fantastic. I have been several times and never disappointed. It’s a must go!
Delicious!
We had not been to Shaya for over a year. I’d quite forgotten how extraordinary the food is. Many restaurants with great reputations fail to live up to the hype. Shaya delivers all it promises and more. We will be back.
I had a great experience. The staff and food were excellent. I will return as soon as feasibly possible.
Absolutely exquisite food!!
Great selection fantastic lamb. Try the home made sodas for a great booze free option
Amazing food with even better service!
food and service were perfect! highly recommend this delicious restaurant!
Never made it to the entrees. The pitas were insane. Taste everything!
One of the best Mediterranean restaurants I've ever been to! Homemade pitas are the best.
We sat upstairs at the table next to the doorway of the stairs. It was annoying being by the constant movement of people walking by and the service area right there.
The food was a little lacking. The hummus although smooth seemed a little dry and the fried chicken was dried out. That was unfortunate. When we asked about one of the wines, the server didn’t explain it, instead did general wine talk. The portions for the price weren’t the best. We had the babaganoush, lamb kofta and crispy halloumi. Definitely will stick to mom and pop shops for Israeli food.
Also, when we called the day ahead to ask if there was a valentines menu or the regular menu, the person said they didn’t know.
Loved how the tables were social diatanced. Perfect Valentines date.
Food was great and we had a great time! Hummus with fried chicken was amazing ... pita was out of this world. Everything is delicious! Ambiance is wonderful
My favorite place in New Orleans. Baba ganoush, cauliflower hummus, and hanger steak was amazing.
The place was very busy and we had to wait, but the hostess was very gracious. We first had an outside and very cold table, but were quickly moved to an inside one when an inside table became available. Very friendly staff and wonderful food. Always look forward to a return visit.
Wow! It was so delicious. The flavors were fantastic and the pita was amazing. I could eat that pita every day and never get tired. The hummus was smooth and delicious and the chicken was amazingly cooked and seasoned. I’ll be coming back as soon as I can.
Food is amazing ambiance is great. Dim lights make it great for romantic date.
Everything from the service to the food was perfect. So delicious. Definitely recommend.
Excellent service, everything was delicious, seated immediately
I have visited my daughter at Tulane and she suggested we had dinner at Shaya. The food was outstanding. The roasted beets, pandered fish and the steak were delicious. Overall excellent food!
Perfect birthday lunch spot!
A fitting dinner for our anniversary. Pricey but worth it.
Great food and patio.
Food (hummus, lamb, chicken) were amazing as was service. Coffee was unusually sour and have some challenges with wine but were credited for it. This is such a lovely, currently VERY quiet ( due to COVID limits) place to have fabulous Israeli cuisine with press, piping hot pita.
The food is always fresh and delicious. A favorite spot in our family.
It’s a pleasure to have an interesting menu, a knowledgeable server, and delicious food. Looking forward another Shaya experience.
Food was great server was kind ty
We were running a few minutes behind due to Causeway traffic. We called and our reservation was adjusted without problem. The restaurant is beautiful. We were greeted and seated immediately. The courtyard setting was very romantic and with good spacing. The Service was outstanding. But the food- wow! We had several dishes and each one, had a colorful presentation, delightful herbs and seasoning and expert preparation. My partner and I loved it. We have highly recommended Shaya to all of our friends.
I enjoyed introducing my husband to one of my favorite restaurants on magazine last night. As always the pita was piping hot and the food was flavorful. I was surprised at how slow the service was but overall, Shaya always delivers.
Amazing!!! The food was sooooo good. I’ve never had hummus or pita even come close to this. It’s a whole new level. And the portions are HUGE! We ordered the cauliflower “small plate” and it was AN ENTIRE HEAD OF CAULIFLOWER! With a knife stuck in it!! And hands down the most amazing cauliflower you could imagine. This is on our favorite restaurant ever list now.
This was my first time dining at Shaya and I was not disappointed. I’d heard so many great things about the food, service and ambiance, I wanted to see what the hype was about.
All of the hype was nowhere near what I envisioned; it was better!!! The entire restaurant was meticulously, clean. The lighting was perfect; low but not too dim or bright. Our server Darrin was very personable and attentive.
The food made every tastebud in my mouth dance. The fried chicken hummus was a medley of smooth, crunchy and sweet textures and taste all at once. The hummus was the smoothest I’ve ever eaten. The fried chicken coupled with the Aleppo pepper and the hummus was absolutely, delicious!!! It was so good, I couldn’t stop thinking about it, so I went back the next day. The pita bread is more like a pita cake. The puffiness and warmth melted in my mouth. Coupled w/the hummus, it was heavenly. I couldn’t decide it I wanted to eat the hummus and pita bread together or separate so I alternated doing both.
If you plan on eating a large plate, go slow on the hummus and pita bread. The fried chicken hummus and roasted cauliflower were so good, it will be hard for me to try all of the other great food on the menu.
The roasted cauliflower was also delicious. It’s very filling so I was only able to eat the cauliflower and hummus and never got to the Big Plate.
Shaya is a must if your a native New Orleanian, a transplant or a visitor. You cannot go wrong w/this menu.
Happy Eating!!!
Second visit. Fantastic experience. Quality ingredients and unexpected flavors. A must go if I’m New Orleans.
The pita and hummus are excellent. Great environment and friendly staff. They do a good job spreading everyone out to maintain distancing. Reservation is recommended
Unique and wonderful food with friendly, helpful service
Every bite was perfect!!! Cocktails were amazing!!
Had an amazing meal at Shaya! My husband and I highly recommend the fried chicken hummus.
