   Hadn’t been back in a while and was in from Dallas visiting the family. They were very accommodating and patient as my grandfather is slow to enter the restaurant. It was only a Tuesday and maybe half full, yet still extremely noisy to the point where it was hard to hear each other from across the table. The reason I awarded 3 stars for service was solely because of the waitress who served us. I don’t know if she was having a bad night, but she wasn’t very pleasant from the start. Additionally I’ve been eating at Shaya since they opened their doors in 2015 and have never felt rushed throughout my meal like I did this past meal. Three times while eating our appetizers we were asked to order our mains to which ever time we had to explain we were still eating!! It just felt awkward and uncomfortable. Additionally the waitress took things off the table without asking like menus that were still being read. It sucks cause their food is still great and the supports staffs attentiveness is also there. Maybe just an off night for the waitress, as I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. Will come back again but not in a massive rush.

   We went to celebrate a birthday which was noted in the reservation. The server did not acknowledge nor offered a desert. We inquired about how sweet the drinks would be and he dismissed us. The drink was super sweet. In telling the bartender how we wanted it made she was also dismissive. I do not recommend going here for a special dinner. Stick to happy hour.

   Love that David was able to get me the kid’s dish of chicken , rice, and avocado. Perfect combination and healthy. Why not double it and put it as a grown up kid special ?

   The ambiance , food and restaurant were great. However, the waiter was absolutely one of the worst we have ever encountered. And that says a lot considering we dine out frequently, across the world. He cleared plates while we were still eating and after an error in taking our order completely ignored us for the rest of our meal. It was the most unprofessional and immature encounters I’ve experienced . he manager took over, was incredible and rectified the issue but we were dumbfounded by the behavior of the waiter. It darkened an otherwise wonderful meal.

   We always love lunch at Shaya when we are in New Orleans. Plentiful food, many vegetarian options. Oh, and their pita is fresh from the oven.

   2nd time here. Food was delicious. This time it was nice to sit outside but the ambiance is much nicer inside.
