Service was great, and the food was delicious! only comment was the lack of lobster in the lobster mac and cheese.
Outstanding dinner with the best steaks in town! Service was excellent as usual
It was great.
Our server was AMAZING. He killed it. There was not a request he could not grant and he was spot on in all of his suggestions.
Sloppy service this time. Appetizers forgotten, mushrooms arrive almost after steak consumed, plates took forever to be removed, had to seek own refills. Not the anniversary dinner we have experienced each year for past six years. Steaks were over salted and over peppered this time. Never like that before.
The service was great, the food was under cooked I asked for medium, the steak was rare, my companion had fish it was not cooked thoroughly, the managers and server were very nice about it, but for the those prices it wasn’t a very good experience food wise
Shanahans was the perfect spot to celebrate a milestone birthday. The wait staff was quite attentive but, not overly so. Steaks and sides were first rate as was the wine selection and birthday dessert!
So we made a reservation a month in advance and when we were sat it was a 4 top setting instead of a 2 top (felt like we were just placed there like a walk in, moving 2 place settings as we r seated), then when sat for this special occasion we were sat next to a family with a young child and the child was showing their age. So now we are upset, and the waitress asks what we want to drink...ugh. So then she pours and offers my date his BEER (like a tasting) but my wine gets handed to me filled from behind I have no clue where and from what bottle. Food was great and I’d love to talk more about it but can’t when huge factors ruin a special trip!!!
This post is based on the weekly Sunday prix-fixe $49/59 special. That is an outstanding value but since it is only 1 night per week, I listed value at 4-of-5 stars in consideration for many people. To be sure, even those other nights, it is comparable to other fine steakhouses or fine dining in general but some people might have a bit of sticker-shock. For those who want a great, perfectly prepared and served steak (and other items) in a great atmosphere, this is a wonderful place. My ONLY complaint, and this is based on multiple visits on various nights, the front check-in needs an "upgrade". Hostesses who can probably not even legally drink have no business being the first point-of-contact and running the table selection. This time I arrived literally to the minute for my reservation, was greeted without emotion and then had to wait several minutes. No "we're setting the table" or "give us a minute please". Literally, nothing. Just, OK, stand over there. And same for others coming in. I've watched this in the past and even have had to wait, again nothing said, for 15 minutes. I get that things can run late (though a good desk is run better than that) but then offer a drink or, at least, acknowledge the delay. Once you are seated though, it's perfection but any professional review (from Forbes to Michelin) would take-off serious marks for this type of greeting. Each-and-every-time.
To dark of an atmosphere for dining for a family diner
Our server Jacob was so great and he made our anniversary celebration wonderful. The food was out of this world!
Had reservations, couldn’t get a table, found glass in my food, and the valet driver broke my key
great food, sat us in bar, too much noise , jammed us in a corner so get bumped every time someone walked by. Definitely request Not to be seated in bar area...
I just attended Shanahan's for an anniversary, and it was wonderful. The food was delicious, and the setting was perfect. We had a reservation for 2 at 7:30 on a Saturday, and we ended up having to wait an additional 30 minutes. They were sincerely apologetic and offered us a complimentary appetizer of our choice (we did the Calamari, which is $18). We also received a complimentary dessert for our anniversary.
The wine selection is abundant, and the cocktails were delicious. The food was sizzling on the plates upon arrival at our table and was still delicious the next day reheated. I would definitely recommend for a special occasion or if you're interested in spending a good amount of money.
My reservations were at 7:30pm. We weren’t seated until about 8:15. Then, we were seated in the bar area and I wasn’t happy about it. I told the server I preferred not to sit in the bar, but she said there was nothing that could be done. I spent a great deal of money to sit directly under and look directly at a television set! It was definitely not the experience I wanted to treat my guests to.
The food and service were good, but I was very unhappy with sitting in the bar.
Seated 45 minutes after our reservation time, which was early at 6:45 p.m. Asked to wait at bar but bar was more than crowded with people eating dinner at bar. What a waste! It's a shame because the food is excellent but if these people really knew how to run a restaurant, they forgot how to do it long ago! And I am a frequent Diner at this restaurant -- go figure!
Never eaten there before and can’t wait to go back!
Everything went great as always. Steak is one of the best. The asparagus this time was a tad disappointing.
We went for our 22nd anniversary and we visit many restaurants. This is our favorite restaurant by far. The staff is very attentive to our needs without being overbearing.
Great menu food came out perfectly. Very busy but the service was on it. Had a great time with a awesome meal
Great service, made the night. Very cool setting and felt very comfortable, true Colorado fine dining
The steaks were exquisite. We made reservations 2 weeks prior to our dinner and asked for a table for 4 at the window. We weren’t placed near the window and in was pretty noisy for our birthday celebration. Overall, it was very nice.
Great location, atmosphere, service and especially the food. 5 stars!
Great evening with business colleagues. Shanahan’s is always a good choice for business meetings. The food , service and overall experience make for a successful meeting place.
The service was fantastic and the food was amazing. Not your every day expense but worth the experience!
From the moment we arrived the service was incredible. Every dish we ordered was cooked exactly the way we ordered it. The appetizers and side dishes were outstanding. I travel all over the United States and this easily was one of the top five meals I’ve had in 2018
Great food great atmosphere great staff.
Always a wonderful time at our favorite restaurant. Our dinner service was most excellent and the food seems to get better every time! Attention to detail is key and the entire staff works diligently to ensure a consistent quality dining experience!
We do Birthdays, anniversaries, and most major holidays. We have never been disappointed. Best steaks in town
Service and food excellent
Steak was not cooked to correct temperature, second try was not right either, management not notified
Such an amazing experience. The food was fantastic! Our waitress was both human and fun, was not overly stuck up like some "fancy" places can get, while still being attentive and delightful. Food baby for the win!!
We celebrated our 7th anniversary this week and the great team serving us made it very special. Really appreciated the attention to detail and the rose petals were a nice touch. The meal and service were fantastic. Thank you!
Overall everything was good. Table location could have been better, but otherwise all was good.
Outstanding food and service. Fairly pricey but worth it.
The atmosphere was great and the steaks were the best i ever had. The service was very, very good. Thanks for a great night!
Sadly were were not impressed with the service. Server was pleasant but seemed overwhelmed with her tables. Steak was "crunchier" than the norm.
Valet and Hosts were completely on top of it!
This turned out to be a perfect place to celebrate my husband's birthday with the whole family. I was little concerned about allowing the 5-yr-old and 8-yr-old grandsons attend, but the Shanahan's staff handled them beautifully, bringing additional coloring sheets without being asked when they noticed the boys had filled their first ones. The food was amazing. Steaks melted in our mouths, brussels sprouts burst with flavor, and the carrot cake for dessert went around the table twice and we still had leftovers. It was ideal for building some terrific family memories.
Our waitress, Michelle, was just wonderful!
As always, the service and ambiance were outstanding. The lobster bisque is the best and the french onion soup is also very good. The sourdough bread is also great. The 6 oz. fillet was overdone for medium, and the lobster tail was also overcooked. Not enough to send it back, but not what one would expect at these prices. The steaks are dry without some sauce, but I think it ruins the taste of the meat. The scallops were very good and so was the grilled asparagus. The free birthday dessert was a really yummy chocolate mousse, and the S'mores brownie sundae was really decadent and delicious; it's more than enough for two. We've had better steaks here before, and you can get better steaks at other places. Overall, it's a great place to celebrate a birthday or anniversary.
