We loved our meal but were extremely disappointed when we arrived to find out that even with our reservations we had to wait 20 minutes. Those 20 minutes however turned into an hour! It would’ve been good to know prior to coming that they were so far behind. We did however enjoy all our food very much!
Service was awesome as usual. I had the bone in ribeye and it was great.
Was perfect for the perfect date!!! The service given could not have been better.
I always love going to Shanahan's!!! I do believe that they have the BEST crab cakes I have ever tasted!!!!
We enjoyed the experience very much. Excellent meal and service. Managing partner Marc Steron personally visited the table to make sure we were pleased with the meal and the service. Nice touch!
Great service and food would definitely recommend! Prepare to pay for the experience however it is a little on the pricey side, but totally worth it!
We came here for my wife and I's first wedding anniversary and came knowing that it'd be on the pricier end, knowing that - of course the service was fantastic! The steak technique is outstanding, their handling of heat-to-meat is the best I've ever had at a restaurant: I've never been to a steakhouse in CO that gets the crust right but Shanahan's does it spot on. Unfortunately, the steak was over-seasoned - absolutely way too much salt. This may be a heavy salting hand or their method of drying the steak before cooking but I found myself drinking a ton of water to compensate for the saltiness; not just at dinner but I found myself (later that night in bed) waking up all hours of the night extra parched. Every other dish we had there was damned near perfect, the steak would have been too if it weren't for the egregious amount of salt - the cut was decent, the cooking was phenomenal, perfect temperature with minimal grey ring, just the seasoning was off. I'll likely come back again for another special occasion and I hope the seasoning was just a fluke. If the steak is seasoned improperly again I will not come back a third time.
I enjoyed our evening very much, but I found the food very salty. Even the cream brulee was very salty.
Our favorite restaurant closed, and my wife and I needed a new spot. Shanahans was a great choice for our 10 year wedding anniversary dinner. They were about 15 minutes late on our reservation, but it was definitely worth the wait. Steaks were perfect and delicious. Staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was awesome. We will be returning.
We've in the Denver area almost 34 years and it was our first time dining at Shanahan's (due to receiving some nice gift cards as a Christmas present). We couldn't have made a better selection for our dining choice and celebrating our anniversary! Everything was Wonderful! It's one of the best restaurants we've visited so far.
Excellence service and meal. Steak was cooked to perfection and came out sizzling hot.
AMAZING! Celebrated our anniversary here and everything was amazing. Perfect place for our special occasion.
Amazing as always! Thank you David for making our late 30 year anniversary celebration a memorable evening!!
Our meal was good, but not great, especially for the price. We started with carpaccio which was very good, then had the french onion soup and the lobster bisque, both of which were very good. Then we had the cowboy ribeye with the lump crab meat topping. The steak was overcooked and not very tender, although very tasty. The crab meat topping was dry and didn't have enough liquid with it. When we told them about it, after the meal, they wanted to bring us a new steak, but we said no. We were hoping for a discount, but didn't get one, although we did get a free dessert, but i think we would have gotten that anyway since we were celebrating our anniversary. The service was mostly very good and everyone wished us a happy anniversary, which they knew about due to the rose petals on our table. Will probably not go back again due to the poor steak and high prices. We expected a great meal, but only got a good one.
We were looking for a place for a good steak and decided to try Shanahan’s. Two of us had the 8oz filet and one person had the chicken dish. The steaks were very, very good! They were cooked to the exact Medium that we requested and were so tender you didn’t need a steak knife to cut them. The chicken dish was also good with a nice light gravy, mashed potatoes and asparagus. The next time we’re in Denver we’ll definitely visit again. Another plus is the free parking and free valet!!
This was a great meal ! We had heard quite a bit about this place for some time so when we were in Denver we decided to give it a try.
Nice wine list ( No Alexander Valley wines ) but plenty to chose from. There were four of us in our party and everyone was really like just blown away as to how good the meal was. The sides are great but all of our steaks were cooked to perfection ! Our waiter was amazing, did a nice job.
Great service, Great meal, Great time. Go here but make a reservation or you will wait a long time!
Extremely loud and tables too close together. Food was good but ambiance not idea for a high priced meal like this.
Amazing food and service! Can’t wait to go back! Thank you Shanihan’s!!
Disappointed in the halibut! It was dry and tasteless and I was so looking forward to it. Love their lobster bisque.
Everything about the meal was exceptional from the food to the service. A special shoutout to our server,
It was our first time and it won’t be our last. Amanda and David were so attentive and made the experience wonderful. The best escargot and bacon wrapped scallops. You could cut our filet mignon with a fork they were so tender. We will make this our go to restaurant when back in Denver.
Everything about our experience was outstanding. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. Our waitress was very pleasant, took time to talk to us, and answer our questions; her recommendations were great. The negative revues that I read before we went to Shanahan's were from grumpy old men who I'd classify as jerks. The restaurant could not have been any better. The setting and decor made our experience very enjoyable.
We love Shanahan’s for special family occasions. I love a great steak and the sides are generous, delicious and perfectly seasoned. Excellent service, awesome patio and bar atmosphere, and they truly go the extra distance for special occasions. Excellent place to impress a client, pamper a family member, or treat a date.
Katie was lovely and efficient
We requested quiet and got it!
I think Sunday eve will be our choice from now on.
The special menu provided a perfect option. Although Jim may add lobster mac as well next time.
Max Farnsworth- Jim Murray’s wife
Food came cold and 1 hour after we ordered it......salad came with our food, waitstaff was not on their game....
We go there all the time, and last night was a disaster
Fantastic! We chose Shanahan's for our anniversary dinner and had a wonderful time. Food and service were top notch, and the little touches for our special occasion were appreciated.
Always an excellent dinner at Shanahans. I recommend it to everyone coming to Denver. Having been here about seven or eight times, we have never had even an average experience. Always excellent food and service.
Always an awesome experience here!
This is our favorite restaurant. My wife’s meal was very good, but mine not so much. Manhattan was poor due to cheap Vermouth, steak was so-so, lobster was heavily coated with Tumeric or somethin similar - very bad. Service (Danny) was excellent.
The only slight negative thing was our waitress was a little slow...even though I'm sure she was busy with other tables...just felt like we were waiting on her. Everything else was amazing and the waitress was good just that one thing. I'd definitely go back !
Went for our 21 year anniversary. Food was fantastic. We had the filet and the sea bass. Amazing! The club music was a bit loud and didn’t seem to fit the restaurant but it was still a great night.
Excellent service. Energetic restaurant. Over priced.
Had a $26 glass of red wine and it was served cold. It took almost the entire time we were there to warm up to room temperature, I was very disappointed with that.
We always go to Shanahan’s for special occasions and this dinner was for our anniversary. We are generally always extremely pleased with our dining experience. It’s unfortunate that the restaurant was so load and crowded that it made for a somewhat unpleasant experience this time around. They had so many large parties that it took forever to get our main course from our appetizers. We almost just asked for them to box up our steaks before they came out since there was almost 45 minutes in between our mussels and finally getting our steak. I am not sure if this is how it always is during the week but I thought going on a Tuesday would give us a nice quiet evening together. Not so much.
We had a wonderful 19th Anniversary dinner. Our waiter was perfect! He explained the different options with expertise and very friendly attitude. Our first ever bone-in filet was cooked to perfection. All of our side dishes were equally awesome!
Music was a bit loud as other customers had to talk over it which made it difficult to have an intimate dining experience.
Celebrated my son’s 25th birthday in one of Shanahan’s private rooms. I couldn’t have been more pleased with the service we received, from Milli, who arranged everything to John ( very ingageing and attentive to guests) and Kelly ( on top of every need) our lead servers. Everyone had a fabulous time. Five star experience, Thank you Shanahan’s!!
Second visit to Shanahan’s for dinner last night. Arrived at 6:45, reservations were for 7:00. Finally seated at about 7:20. The girls that checked us in were rude. Serving staff was wonderful and personable. Noise level in the restaurant was very loud. Ordered salads, drinks and steaks. Waited 30-40 minutes between the salads and entree. For the $300 plus bill, can’t say that it’s worth price.
Mary, the manager at Shanahans is absolutely terrific. Originally we were disappointed in our table and she took care of us and turned what could have been a disaster into a delightful evening.
Our waiter Robbie, was first class as well.
Food was excellent. Everything we ordered tasted fantastic. My husband doesn't like pork but after begging him he tried my pork chop and raved about it being the best he's ever tried. He would actually order it for himself. Our server was so friendly, and courteous. We will definitely be back.
Shanahan’s is simply our favorite steak house in Denver. The ambiance is less “steak house” and more open/vibrant. All of the high end steak houses serve great steaks, but Shanahan’s steaks are just a bit better, and when coupled with the ambiance, this is our number one choice for a special meal. It is an expensive night out but well worth it.
We went for their summer outdoor concert on August 24th and sat on the patio and listened to PG6IX (R&B/Soul/Funk) and it was one of our favorite nights of the summer. The band was fantastic, especially if you were in your 20’s during the 80’s and 90’s. In addition to EWF/Prince/Luther Vandross/Chaka Khan, you get contemporary R&B/Soul with Bruno Mars, Pharrell and others.
