   It is always a treat to eat at Sassella. Service is great, food is outstanding, presentation is beautiful. It’s not cheap but it’s a great value.

   We were very impressed with Arturo, our server. He made the whole evening celebrating my husbands birthday so much fun. The food and drinks were exceptional. The flavors in every dish exploded on our tastebuds with joy. Truly. We had the Sea Bass and the lamb dish along with the pear appetizer and it all was so good.

   Sassella is my favorite restaurant in Santa Fe for dining with friends because of its well paced ambiance and lovely staff. The food is wonderful and imaginative with good variety on the menu for many tastes. Its preparations are simple, but to me perfect. The mushroom soup appetizer is superb. The sea bass is the best I have ever had. I don't quite know how they acheive the effect, but when I have dined there with friends, I have felt more at home there than I do at home! They allow enough time at the tabe to enjoy your cocktails, savor your appetizers, relish the entrees and linger in conversation over dessert and coffees. You never feel pressure to leave the table to give them one more table turn. You always feel looked after, yet without intrusive interruptions. And the building with wood floors and homey decor is blissfully quiet and perfectly suited to comfortable conversation. We have bonded with several pairs of new friends there and would recommend it unreservedly to others.

   My birthday dinner last night was FABULOUS! We chose to eat in the bar area, which was less fancy than the dining room. SO COZY and welcoming on a cold, snowy night. The staff couldn't have been more attentive and friendly. The food was amazing! They started us off with a small amount of prosecco for my birthday celebration! So nice! We ordered Cesar Salad (a TOWER!?), Lobster Risotto (DELICIOUS; a small portion, but filling) & a flank steak. All cooked PERFECTLY and tasted perfect, as well. For dessert: Birthday surprise from the restaurant was raspberry cheesecake gelato, topped with homemade whipped cream & raspberry sauce We also ordered a creme brulee & it was SO GOOD, as well! We will DEFINITELY be back!

   This is a lovely restaurant and every bite we took was creative and absolutely delicious. This is Italian like you would find in Rome or Florence. Think Stanley Tucchi savoring a bite and rolling his eyes. Yes, that good. The portions are large so pacing yourself or sharing a course or two would be a good idea. You really don't want to leave anything on the table.

    What we really appreciated about this restaurant was the amazingly attentive and professional service. We sat at a table in the bar area which was cozy. Our food was quite good except the lobster was over cooked, but the risotto was excellent. The pear starter was a fun dish and the meatballs were hearty. And I enjoyed the sea bass, which was perfectly cooked and had nicely balanced flavors. Overall, a very good meal - on the pricy side but that’s par for the course in Santa Fe. We would return.

    We had another wonderful experience with our guest at Sassella. We sat in the bar area and Mike took excellent care of us once again. There were new specials that were very popular at our table. It was also fun to experiment with their gin collection. We enjoyed that part a lot. We continue to recommend this restaurant!

    In our "Restaurant Tour of Santa Fe", this one definitely placed in the top 2 out of over a dozen! We were looking for an Italian restaurant (had already visited two that were less than stellar), and decided to try Sassella for this go-around. My daughter-in-law and I made reservations for early evening because we weren't sure how parking would be. They actually have a parking lot adjacent to the restaurant, but there are only about a half dozen spaces allocated just for the restaurant. There is on-street parking as well and a parking lot not too far away if their lot is full. The restaurant itself is quite attractive, and the decor very opulent with mardi-gras style masks on the entrance wall and gilded mirrors in the dining room. We were immediately pleasantly surprised with the high level of service and the attentiveness of the staff. I ordered a split of wine, and my daughter-in-law ordered a mixed drink. The liquor list is extensive - and I mean EXTENSIVE! It is highly likely that you will find your favorite imbibe there. As an appetizer, we ordered the small Affetati plate, which had a delicious assortment of meats and cheeses along with a raspberry jam. The small size was more than enough for 2 persons, and could have easily served 4. For our main course, we both ordered the Lobster Risotto with asparagus, which was perfectly prepared and very flavorful. Desserts were Tiramisu with tiramisu flavored gelato for me, and the Budino for my DIL, which was a butterscotch custard. Dessert portions were large and beautifully served. I also had an espresso, which was a perfect finish to a very excellent meal.

    We were seated promptly by a courteous hostess. Our waiter was friendly and very knowledgeable. The cuisine was exceptional, prepared by the multi award winning chef, Cristian Pontiggia. A wide variety of menu offerings are available.

    Our new favorite restaurant in Santa Fe! Just WOW. They have a vegetarian menu too - you just have to ask - and incredible non-alcoholic cocktails. The FOOD though - neither of have tasted food this excellent before. We’ll most definitely be back.

    You are now my favorite restaurant in Santa Fe! The ambiance was stellar. Great selection of wines. We had to go to a movie premiere and Sligo the salad and the lobster risotto. The lobster was grilled perfectly. Just was a great server and Dario cam out with our desert. ❤️❤️❤️

    I highly recommend this restaurant. Sassella has an extensive wine list & our waitperson made points when he recommended a wine that actually cost LESS than the one we were considering! And it was delicious! The mushroom cappuccino was rich & warm, the meatball sampler was fun & the pear salad was light & refreshing. We had the seafood linguini, the mushroom carbonara & the sea bass & there were no complaints from anyone! I especially enjoyed the sea bass, cooked perfect & melt in your mouth. Dessert was a lovely frozen limoncello, but I want to go back to try the tiramisu. All of the food was stunning in its presentation, our waitperson was unobtrusive, but attentive and the ambiance was lovely. The only downside was a party of four next to us that was a little rowdy. I will definitely go back.

    The food was delicious. Since it is owned by an Italian, he needs to instruct his wait staff to use European service, meaning not to remove plates from the table until everyone is finished eating, not American service, which means removing a plate when that person is finished. When someone talks a lot & isn’t finished its makes him seem to be slow. We were enjoying our friend’s stories & didn’t want him to feel rushed. The bread was not up to the level of the main courses by any means. Definitely not baked by an Italian.

    Service was very very slow, server would was not attentive at all. They have enough staff but the waiter who serves you water cannot take your order, so our dinner was slow overall. Food is good, but service should improve for the price you pay.
