Another delicious dinner on the patio, great service from the staff.
Best Italian in Santa Fe!
Wonderful food! Best Italian experience in a very long time. Looking forward to going back.
The food here is about as good as it gets. Service is much like the service you would expect in a fine European restaurant, attentive but not overbearing. Food is a delight to the senses. Not only is it presented beautifully, it is superb! I had the radiatore with shrimp. Delightful, as was the first course of stuffed squash blossoms with three different fillings. Hated to see the evening end! Well worth the trip!
A truly wonderful experience. The ambience, food, service and safety precautions were all superb. I'll be back!
Top quality food in a quiet setting. Service was professional and efficient. Enjoyed it very much.
Sassella has expanded the patio dining of the restaurant so it's one of the best places to dine in Santa Fe, especially when dining inside the restaurant is not possible. The patio accommodates a dozen tables, most of which are under an umbrella, tree or roof. My husband and I were greeted at the entrance, had our temperatures taken and show to our table. We were immediately asked about water (we ordered a bottle of Pelligrino). We ordered cocktails. My husband said his gin and tonic was the best gin and tonic he had ever had. I had a Negroni that was exceedingly well made. We ordered our meals, after which grilled bread was brought to the table along with little circular crackers. Both were homemade and delicious. The wait staff offered a first press virgin olive oil into which the bread could be dipped.
I ordered a salad and the tuna encrusted with sesame seeds with a side of asparagus. My husband ordered the eggplant parmesan and branzino. The food was fantastic. If I had to complain about anything, it was that the asparagus was cold.
The staff was attentive, hardworking and gracious. We were asked if we wanted more bread, and we asked for more. More was brought. We were surrounded by thunder and lightning. It rained but not hard enough to cause us to get wet. A memorable dinner for my husband's birthday.
The ambiance is relax and lovely with decorative sculpture of horses and ceramic balls. The service was attentive but not intrusive. The wine list has many glasses that aren’t any more expensive than most restaurants. I didn’t look at the price of bottles.
The food was delicious and artfully presented. So I don’t know how the restaurant is doing, but we had a most enjoyable meal. It’s not inexpensive, but we’ll go there again for my birthday. I gave a 25% tip in consideration of the staff working in the rain and because we had such a lovely evening.
We have been impressed with Sassella since it opened. The food is expensive but delicious and truly represented the cuisine of Northern Italy. We went there recently and ordered the specials: Mozzarella di Buffola, freshly made and served with orange slices and pistachios. Delicious. We ordered the pork chop cooked in a batter. It was apparently added to the menu in place of the the veal on previous visits. But the pork chop was dry and a bit tough. Tough, dry pork chops are a national problem in the US due to the fact that pigs are not fattened like they were in the past. In the past I ordered the veal which was much more tender than the pork. I had hoped that Sassela had found a new source of tender pork chops, but it had not.
The menu at Cassella is smaller than in the past, I presume due to the fact that fewer people are dining out these days. There were other items on the menu which I could have tried instead of the pork and next time I will choose other items, but with fewer items on the menu, that makes it difficult to find a choice one enjoys.
We will continue to go to Sassella because it is still the best Italian restaurant in Santa Fe. But I will not order a pork chop.
Very creative menu, great service and lovely and uncrowded patio. We hope to go back soon.
Great food... nice setting... professional staff. TWO THUMBS UP.
Excellent in all respects. Superb food. Very well prepared. Service as good as you have ever exported
Was a great experience. Food and drink were great. Service was impecable. Mary was great!!
This was a superb warm Santa Fe summer evening experience! Tables on the patio were spaced far apart and the restaurant was not crowded. As usual, the food and service were excellent! Duck breast confit and the evening special--squid ink spaghetti with calamari and shrimp--were delicious! This is a great place to go anytime but for safe outdoor dining during this difficult summer, there is no better choice.
High quality dining in a tranquil setting with comfortable outdoor seating. Food was excellent, and service to match
Another great and unique meal at Sassella // Menu for lunch goes from light to big and complex flavors // Outdoor dining area is wonderful and comfortable // Service is outstanding //
Middle of the road food, expensive, very good wine list, nice patio dining. Not high on the list of places to which we would return.
Good, but not great. Food was good, nothing that made you go "oh my god". Service was below expectations. Beautiful restaurant and outdoor patio. For the price, I expected to be wowed and was not.
Amazing experience and good was delicious! We will go back.
Everything was excellent. The wait staff are attentive and the food and wine wine were excellent. We will be coming back
Fun Negroni flight! Amazing lunch on a beautiful patio.
Due to the virus we rarely dine out. But with special friends we dined at Sassella as the chef, Christian, is excellent and it would be our reprieve from isolation. We were not disappointed. The restaurant has taken great measures to ensure safety and sanitary conditions. Dining outside we had a wonderful experience. And Daric the bartender treated us to a special welcome. Christian and his staff do a marvelous job and we were all extremely happy with our choice. I highly recommend it and will go back soon.
Delicious food and amazing service!
My husband and I have become devoted fans of this outstanding Italian Restaurant. We love the quality ingredients, the excellent selections of wines and cocktails, and the perfection of every part of the service. Our waiter had already checked our profile with them from our previous visit and knew that my husband was allergic to nuts.
I spent a few months in Northern Italy many years ago and came to love the food there. Sassella embodies the flavors and nuances of Northern Italy and has become a favorite for us. We hope to return many times.
We split the brasoala app, and then had the fungi flatbread and eggplant dish for lunch. All were delicious and the outside courtyard was well arranged for enjoyable, well spaced dining.
We live in Dallas and visit Sassella each time we’re in town, which is at least 3 times a year. The food is always amazing, as is the service. The staff wore the clear face shields which made the experience so much more personal than masks. Love it- every time!
It was a delight sitting on the outdoor patio at Sassella for lunch. I was very glad to see they are taking safety very seriously during this crazy time of COVID-19. The service, food, and ambience was superior as always.
Amazing food and the service was fabulous. We’ll be going back again and again.
This was our first visit. The wait staff was friendly and professional.
We had a range of items between 4 of us.All dishes were creative and delicious. I particularly liked the Caesar presentation and the veal chop.I have half of that chop in my fridge!
Delicious food and professional service. Great outdoor patio and very spread out!
The Caesar salad was presented extremely well and was.very tasty. The Nodino di Vitello although not medium rare plus as indicated by the waiter, was superb. It was very well presented with terrific potatoes and Asparagus.
The Tiramisu was very unique in its presentation and very delicious.
The wait staff was very attentive and did a great job.
Keep it up.

Sassella is well on its way to becoming real competition with the Old Guard of great Santa Fe restaurants. The lush garden Setting sets an elevated standard for patio dining. The wait staff is exceptional. The mixologist makes world class gin cocktails, and much more. The chef presents the prettiest plates in town. The food is very good indeed, although the menu is limited currently. One flaw was very little octopus on a very large plate. But my granddaughter’s flatiron steak was exceptional and the chef happily made an off-menu pasta for a picky eater.
The lovely hostess started the evening off right. The patio ambience is very pleasant. The service was unobtrusive and on top of things. Now as to the food, they try hard, but it certainly isn't close to the best Italian I've ever had, nor did I think it justified the pricing. The restaurant isn't yet in the category of Geronimo or the Coyote Cafe in my opinion.
This was our first time to dine at Sassella. The food was exceptional and the service impeccable. We will definitely come back. An elegant restaurant to take our guest to.
Terrific waiter...very helpful and attentive.
My wife and I dined at Sassella in Santa Fe last week and had an wonderful time. This is a truly an exceptional restaurant and a great experience that should not be missed.
The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful and has a wonderful ambiance. The food is to die for and you will find some very creative and incredible tasting things to try that cannot be found anywhere else.
I would also add that the service, and especially our server Billy, was phenomenal.
Sassella has really raised the bar and set a new standard for what a restaurant can do and how great an evening out dining can be.
Beautiful restaurant with beautiful delicious food
There were only three tables of customers while we were there. The waiter was excellent throughout. Management comp'd two Osso Bucco meals which were awful with tough, grisley and inedible meat over the thinnest possible layering of mashed potatoes. The kitchen staff rated a zero for putting out for delivery to the table these two meals.
Awesome! We will be back!
If only I can give 6 stars for their service... Today's food is a bit greasy though, but the dessert is still amazing.
Wonderful & unusual food.
The service was beyond excellent and the ambience wonderful! However, the entrées, admittedly for restaurant week unlimited, we’re nothing to write home about. They weren’t bad but they weren’t exciting.
