The sushi was incredible and our server was out of this world. She knew the food menu, drink menu, and was able to pair everything together beautifully. We sat on the outdoor patio and although it was a cooler Dec. evening, they had thought of everything. The heat lamps were perfectly placed and they even had blankets and hand warmers if you still needed them. (We didn't, but like I said - they thought of it all.) I recommend the waygu & venue rolls. Chaga's Dream was a beautifully delicious cocktail too. You won't leave disappointed~

Wonderful way to celebrate our anniversary. Food was amazing as always and so thankful we had Josh as our server. Excellent customer service, so kind, attentive and welcoming.

Sandfish is a bit of a hidden gem in the north part of N Palm Canyon. Really nice wood/bamboo environment and knowledgeable wait staff. And then....the food! OMG!!!!!!!!!!! The Venue Roll and Koko Roll were OUTstanding. Super duper fresh and delish....you could tell the chef "put the love in." My wife had some Japanese whiskey that was delicious, at the recommendation of our server (thank you!), and we left, feeling a bit "floaty" and content. Divine!

Requested through Open Table seating for 3 at 5:30 on the storage container deck at a QUIET table. There are about 25 tables on the deck, 3 were occupied, one couple, one party of 3 and at the very back a party of 5 adults with 3 infants. The hostess tried to seat us right next to this very noisy group. We asked to sit at the opposite end of the deck in a quiet corner. Our server Ivan was a pro; but he was faced with a totally inept crew. We ordered 2 drinks and one Miso soup, the soup to be delivered with the drinks. It seems to ALWAYS take an unreasonable length of time to get drinks, even when there are few people seated. Final got the drinks; but no Miso soup. Ivan was very apologetic after 10 minutes went by and no soup. When the soup arrived it was lukewarm at best. We ordered sashimi, which came within a reasonable time along with 2 orders for more Miso soup. The Miso soup was again, LUKEWARM! We have been here numerous times so we expected the usual, barely average sashimi portions, at, of course, their expensive prices. We were enjoying a quiet dinner when about halfway through the hostess seated a couple at the 2 top RIGHT next to us. The 2 tables that were occupied earlier were empty and only one other party of 3 had been seated next to the big group. What the heck! There were 20+ empty tables on the deck. Why in the world would anybody seat customers right next to others when the restaurant was almost empty? Forget the fact that I had originally asked for a quiet table and then had asked to be relocated initially. Then to add insult to injury, these 2 people were LOUD, at least I thought so until their server came and she was even louder, facing us from the far side of the table and carrying on a “friends who haven’t seen each other for a time” conversation. We literally had to shout to get Ivan to understand our request for the check. Big bucks for a mindless experience with below average food. Did I mention that there is limited street parking only?

Food was really good. Nice varied menu. We got there 30 mins early and although fully booked they were ably to seat us.. front desk very friendly and accommodating. Good service. Only one restroom for whole restroom so had to wait in line a while which was frustrating. Overall good experience and would go back there.

Sushi rolls were decent but for the high price I would have expected better. Service was wonky, poor timing of delivery to table. But the main problem was staff came to table with random off-menu appetizer in hand that we didn’t order and asked us to buy it. Awkward.

Everything was fantastic. There is a Scandinavian influence to some dishes and I cannot recommend those enough. Definitely try the roll with the bonito flakes!

I have eaten a lot of sushi in my life and this was pretty incredible. We sat outside so we could bring our dog and at first it was quite quiet, but then it eventually got louder and the service got worse as the deck filled up. But the service was never bad and the noise level was never intolerable. I would definitely recommend this and if you’re a whiskey drinker, big bonus for you.

Everyone and everything was great! Service and food were excellent. Ambiance great. No complaints. We are winos particularly Chardonnay. If that’s your game call ahead to see what they have and ask about a corkage fee. We will definitely go again!

We arrived early, but were greeting by a very nice man who explained the menu since it was our first time there and get us water. He then followed up with drinks and an appetizer, which were delicious. The food was awesome, the service was awesome and it wasn't noisy at all, which is nice when you are trying to have a conversation. They are very intuitive to when to take your plate away, when to refill your drink, etc. I would absolutely go back again.

The ambiance was great, very upscale casual. The sushi was good and the flavors interesting but it was a little overpriced for what was being offered. The appetizers were delicious and the duck bao a must try. Our drinks were also good. The service was a little hit and miss, some of the staff was excellent and friendly, others… not so much. Overall, it was a good experience, but not something we will be repeating.

Our meal here wasn't bad, it just wasn't that great either. We had high hopes for it based on some it being recommneded in several lists for best dining experiences in Palm Springs and based on the prices ($27 for s single sushi roll). We started with stuffed squash blossoms. We were intrigued by the addition of spicy tuna, but the execution was not good. The deep frying of the blossom cooks the ground tuna and the effect is not great- kind like finding cooked hamburger in the middle of the blossom and the texture of it did not work with the soft cheese. It would have been better without the tuna. Their signature sushi roll was the best food that we had there, but it was not remakedly better than many $15 rolls I have had many other places. Finally, the karage califlower bun was disappointing. No batter stickin go the califlower and althought the menu promised it would be a crunchy contrast to the bun, it was not- it was mostly just overcooked and soft. The kimchi that accompanied it was uninsired and offered no spiciness. On a positive note, the bottle of sake we had was outstanding and the best part of the experience, but I don't think we are going back.

Sushi roll fantastic and imaginative. Service dreadfully slow. Ordered a bottle of white wine which never appeared until finally someone came around asking if we had ordered a bottle but it was after we had finished eating. Like I said food was great but service ruined the evening. 200$ bill

I’ve been dining at Sandfish for 3+ years and the fish has always been very fresh. A couple of years ago I thought that the rice was excellent; however, that is no longer the case. The rice is merely ok so I guess that the chef who made the rice a couple of years ago left. Considering the very very high prices that they charge, they should figure out how to improve the rice. In spite of the not so great rice, the food is still very enjoyable.

We were seated promptly and our waitress was very attentive and gave great recommendations on food and drink items. Initially I didn't care for the taste of a drink and the bartender was very attentive to my facial expression and came right over to ask questions and then make some suggestions of how to make it more to my liking. She fixed it perfectly to my liking. I really appreciated that type of attention and customer service. It's a bit pricey but I would return primarily for the customer service these ladies provided and the food was also good. Thank you

We love Sandfish Sushi & Whiskey! The food is always delectable and the service is impeccable. Shout out to Josh who we’ve had twice as a waiter. He is knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and just all-around amazing. If you’re in Palm Springs, you should definitely dine here!

Had high expectations for this spot… First we got seated outside under their makeshift covered patio. It smelled strongly of sewage so we asked to get moved. Our new table was situated pretty close to the (busy) road which was pretty distracting. The food was good… but very overpriced. Very expensive sushi rolls for the amount you received.

The Food was really good and came out fast. The koko roll was delicious, perfect amount of sweet and spicy. The kids gobbled up the chicken gyoza. Our server was so friendly and patient. I would def come here again. Great outdoor patio made out of shipping containers.

This is an unbelievable restaurant. I drive two hours to go to dinner here. I can never say enough good things about the quality of food. But beyond that, you can tell this place has dialed in it's company culture. Every single employee is gracious and informative and genuinely seems to love being there. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. I've been here about 5 times total and have never had a bad experience.

Some of the food was good, a lot of it was decent but forgettable. Especially for the price point. Not quite as good as I remember it being the first time I dined there. Not sure it will make my must dine at list for PS anymore.

Very disappointing and seriously overpriced. I booked Sandfish Sushi & Whiskey for our anniversary dinner based on reviews and the fact that it was on several lists as one of the best restaurants in Palm Springs. I noted on the reservation that this was for a special occasion, but when we arrived, we weren't sited inside, instead they gave us a table on the patio in a shipping container which was bare of any decoration and super loud. The food was just ok, definitely nothing exceptional ... I expected a lot more quality for the money. Very very overpriced, service is barely passable.

They clearly were in disarray. People were walking out. They claimed some type of computer error but my gut tells me something more systemic was the reason for the haphazard service. Brutal.

Provided incorrect/old menus by the hostess, which in turn led the server having to provide new menus. The items we wanted were listed on the old menu, but not the new menu, which delayed the entire ordering process. The server, Alex, did not check back with us often. Overall, an okay experience - nothing great, and won’t recommend to friends.

Our server was fantastic He led us through the offerings and helped choose gluten free items. We devoured every bite! My only issue was the horrible chairs outside (for me it was the most uncomfortable seat anywhere). I would bring my own cushion next time

We last ate at Sandfish several years ago and thought the food was excellent. That held true for this meal, but we found the portions considerably smaller than what we remember from before. This in turn made pricing feel that much steeper. Our server couldn't have been more cordial, but we did feel a bit rushed through our meal.
