Overall it was meh. Matsuhisa in Vail is much better by far. Our server was very nice but a little pushy on wanting us to order. We didn’t want dessert as we were meeting up with people afterwards but finally ordered creme brûlée just to leave us alone. This dessert in particular was terrible. Overall it wasn’t a bad dinner, but it wasn’t good. Definitely go to Matushisa in Vail for a top experience in regards to food as well as ambience.
If you enjoy sushi you will love this. Great ambience and service. Pricey but what you might expect from a high end restaurant in a high end place
Get the miso black cod! Incredible
Best sushi in the world. I’ve been to the top sushi restaurants in LA, Las Vegas, Chicago, New York, and London. Nothing beats Sakaba. I don’t know how they do it.
We are Sushi fanatics and couldn't have been more disappointed in Sakaba. Simply put, the menu was EXTREMELY overpriced for what you get, the rolls were embarrassingly uneven and the selection was quite simply poor.
Unfortunately this was a shock and certainly not what we expected for a restaurant in the Ritz Carlton.
The service and food were top notch! I would highly recommend
This is quite pricey but food was delicious. We tried almost all of the rolls. They were small but the flavor was great. Price is understandable given this is in the mountains in beaver creek! Would return!
It is way too expensive!
For starters we were sat in the bar area rather than the actual restaurant. The menu was in Japanese so unless you are aware of exactly what type of sushi you want then you have to google... OR have a waiter that can help you. When I expressed my frustration over the menu to our waitress, she simply said she had the same problem when she started working there.... How about some help explaining the different types of tuna on the menu? (for example).
The food itself was very good although overpriced- which is expected at the Ritz.
Overall, it was a let down.
Best sushi ever. Atmosphere was great and the service was outstanding.
We had two wonderful diners here. The service was superior.
Terrible service
The food was mediocre for the price point. Being a value person.. it was not worth the money.
Great experience overall until our server forgot one item, then another one and took forever for those last items. Some type of confusion went on or they went out to buy the lobster :-)
Highest level Japanese food - rivals the best anywhere
Outstanding! Everything we ordered was amazing. Our server was very sweet and diligent. The only thing standard was the edemame. Everything else was a pleasant surprise. What a great sushi. Be prepared for a big check but it will be totally worth it.
Excellent service, even going next door to get little kid-friendly food. Delicious food. Felt like we could have been at a fine-dining restaurant in NYC. A little pricey, but everything was so good from cocktails to sushi to dessert. Black cod was extraordinary.
Sushi chef Kazu executed! Food , drinks, and service was💯!
Excellent food and service. Our waitress was very helpful and attentive. Cool ambience and an overall excellent experience.
Great outdoor space highly recommend
This is my favorite restaurant in the vail valley! It’s a hidden gem!
Food was so so. The appetizer special was awesome but the rest of the meal was average. Service was perfect.
Such a wonderful treat. We enjoyed a date night here while staying at the Ritz. The food was phenomenal and very unique. We look forward to eating here again.
Like the reviews said...food was great, menu is limited and pricey.
Excellent food. Great Service. Would definitely go back.
The best Asian and possibly the best restaurant in the Vail/BC valley. Service impeccable, attentive and pleasant. Food just incredible, period. The filet, the black cod, the ramen, the lobster, the eggplant are all awesome. The management and staff go out of their way every time we go there to make us welcome.
Pricey but a value for what you get!
It was my first time in and I will absolutely come back! The atmosphere comfortable and inviting. My server was Colby and he was fantastic! He was super knowledgeable and gave us great recommendations. The entire staff was friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious, the sushi chef really goes above and beyond! Highly recommend going!
The most amazing service because of Colby, Danny and Michelle. But Chef Kazu takes the experience to the a whole new level of fine dining. We had one of everything on the menu and could not help to enjoy each dish more than the last. Specifically the lobster rolls and wagyu beef... WOW. Can’t wait to eat here again!!!!! Also don’t hesitate to ask the servers/bartenders to create a specialty cocktail just for you! Best dinner experience in Vail Valley. Highly recommend!
Amazing experience!
Even though sushi was good I found the menu to be very limited as well as over priced.
The food definitely lacked the wow factor . It was healthy clean and good quality but for the pride it should have been off the hook special and it just wasn’t. Next time I want Sushi I’ll go to Matshuisha or our local nozawa in Avon.
Colby was a fantastic server-his recommendations were on point! The sushi is amazing and would definitly recommend going here.
We had an amazing time at Sakaba celebrating a birthday. We enjoyed it so much we can back the next night to celebrate our engagement. We came for drinks and desert but couldn’t help ourselves from ordering a bunch of food. The staff made the whole experience special. The food is expensive but the flavor and experience was worth it. We would be tempted to go again if not for their scarce availability of reservations.
First, the food is excellent. If you are a Japanese Uni fan like my husband, you will be in hog heaven. My kids loved the ramen. The hamachi, eggplant, seabass, and toro were all delicious. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, making great recommendations for both food and bev. Even the miso Creme brûlée was delicious. All in all a great dinner if a tad pricey, but well worth the dining experience and food!
great night out
service and ambiance superb
prices extreme,
awesome food, service and ambiance. Great for a special dinner!!! Love the patio.
The patio is gorgeous (partially enclosed and heated if needed), and sushi was incredible. Make sure to try the ramen too!
Incredible food
Expensive but worth it
Lindsey, Colby, Chris, and Kazu were outstanding! The experience was special and memorable and the sushi was the best in the Vail Valley!
Danny was an incredible server. Food was absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend the beef wagu dish and bubble cocktail.
