Our evening at Saint Jacques was absolutely wonderful. They believe in high quality food, service, and beverages. Their French onion soup is out of this world delicious. Who knew something that seems so simple could be so extraordinary. The scallop scampi was also outstanding!! We were too full for dessert but really wanted to order 1 or all of them.
Our server was very new and made us feel rushed with our meal. We were in and out in 1.5 hours. Also, he forgot to reset the table with utensils and I had to beg for a knife. He was very nice but was clueless. We had to refill our wine glasses and crumb the table.
In regards to the food, my husband was truly disappointed that they ran out of onion soup at 7:30pm. That's what made him want to eat French food that night. There's no reason to run out so early of such a staple. The food itself was good and my Creme Brulee was spot on as always. We'll be back but we did leave a bit underwhelmed.
Great service! Food delicious. Chef was asked to prepare a steak for 2 but 2 different tastes - medium rare and medium well in the same steak. He did it and it was wonderful!!!!!
I highly recommend this restaurant!
The food was amazing and our server was personable and informative making my boyfriend's 30th birthday party a wonderful memory.
Was so surprised when we drove up to the restaurant and saw that it was in a strip mall. And then we saw the menu and ate the food. Fabulous!!!
We have been to Saint Jacques repeatedly and will continue to do so. The staff is amazing, as amazing as the dinners and brunches. We always ask for Anthony, who is a great representative of Saint Jacques; he always makes us feel welcome and knows everything about the food and wine and everything else. Can't wait to go back.
Ordered the Easter Lamb entree. Very tough, tasteless and overcooked. First time lamb seemed like old mutton. Very unfortunate. Waitress was kind enough to comp desserts.
First of all we have been here many times and always enjoyed it so we decided to go for Easter brunch. Unfortunately this time we were disappointed. We ordered coffee, peach Bellini’s, cheese plate, lamb entree and eggs Benedict. The coffee was good. The peach Bellini tasted like it was watered down with orange juice. You were only able to taste a hint of peach. The bread basket that came with the cheese platter was stale. Tasted like the bread was over microwaved which made it hard and rubbery. The cheese plate was lacking in... cheese. There was more walnuts and apple then cheese. We got this cheese plate before and it had twice the amount of cheese. It was really disappointing in quality, quantity and value. The lamb entree was delicious and no problem there. The eggs Benedict were ok but the accompanying potatoes were very dry and bland. We may give them another chance in the future but for now we will be taking a break from this restaurant due to the quality and value.
Wonderful food beautiful wines good service just overall totally lovely can’t wait to go back
Amazing restaurant with really good seafood preparations!
Everything was tremendous. Food and Service were A+
Servers and meal preparation were great. Time between courses could be improved.
Everything was perfect from the server to the dessert. We got the escargot and scallops for small plates and they were exquisite. For every plate we had my taste buds tingled. Magnificent!
5th anniversary. Excellent in every way.
I'm never disappointed. I never regret my order or think, "will this be good?" It is always so much better than good.
Previous dinners , some time back, had been good, but very disappointed this time. Wife's filet terribly under cooked and the octopus I ordered appeared to have been warmed under a heat lamp until the surface was very dry and the sauce crusty. Evidently there is new management because key elements of the old place are missing. I hope the other patrons had a better experience as St. Jacques has been a special place to go; no more.
Excellent food in a pleasant setting. Service was thoughtful and just right. Most authentic French experience we have had in Raleigh. Well done to all
While the menu is small, the chef obviously takes great pride in the presentation and flavors of each dish. We had reservations and at first I was a bit surprised as only one other table was seated. But them I saw table after table being sat about every 15 minutes until the place was full. Looks like lots of regulars at this fine dining establishment.
The service was spot on and I love a place that is team oriented. I highly recommend getting the Coquilles Saint Jacques for an appetizer. This is creamy scallops with a bread crumb topping in a cute little shell that was full of amazing flavor.
For my dinner, I chose the scallop and shrimp scampi. Also a major winner! They happily let me sub the peas for asparagus. Delicious!
My hubby enjoyed his Filet Mignon and said it was the best he's had. I will be back and look forward to trying their dessert next time.
Food and service were amazing. We had foie gras, scallops, octopus paired with great wine suggestions. Loved the ambient music, mixed French classics, jazz, and bossa nova.
The food was just as you would expect rich and indulgent. We had a great experience.
Great wine selection, good menu. The duck magret was cooked perfectly and very good! The octopus was only so/so. We would go back for sure.
Good service and decent food but really bad and overpriced wine!
Great experience. Staff was great and very friendly. The food was exquisite. The wine list was ok and a bit pricey for the types of wine. Overall great place to go for a special occasion or date night.
Desserts need to be improved, and there needs to be more choices.
Valentine’s dinner at Saint Jacques was wonderful. James was our waiter and he made the experience fantastic. He paired our meal with a nice bottle of wine. I had escargot as my appetizer... never had it before so I didn’t know what to expect. It tasted good and the sauce they were in was wonderful. My husband got the cheese plate which was hands down better than mine! Our entrees were scallops and shrimp and beef cheeks. Both delicious but the beef cheeks seemed like a “pot roast”. The star on his plate was the sweet potato purée underneath the beef cheeks. My scallops were crazy good. Dessert was creme brûlée and chocolate budini. HANDS down the chocolate budini was the best! Bittersweet chocolate that legit tasted like heaven as it melted in my mouth. A little pricey ($327 for 2 people) but an absolutely wonderful experience. Thank you Saint Jacques for introducing me to wonderful French cuisine!
Enjoyed a wonderful Valentine’s Day dinner. The Ribeye, mashed potatoes, and asparagus was delicious. My wife enjoyed the shrimp and scallops. The creme brûlée dessert was fantastic. Phenomenal service and atmosphere for a special occasion.
This hidden gem has authentic French food made with local, fresh ingredients. It is expensive, and you get what you pay for. In this case, it is extremely high quality food. Don't be fooled by the property - it is in a strip mall and the appearance isn't the most attractive, but if you are in it for the food, check Saint Jacques out!
Best fine dining in RDU. AMAZING food from appetizers to dessert. Probably one of my favorite places all time
Food very overpriced and not great. We expected a lot more for the $. Presentation and menu are outdated. Expected something inventive on the Valentine's Menu especially in the dessert realm--would've been nice to see some kind of pastry vs creme brulee, chocolate pudding, sorbet. Service and ambience were great!
Located in a strip mall so kind of lost any character if it had any. The food and service were excellent. We had the Ribeye for two but the up charges were not explained thoroughly. Management did give us a small credit for the misunderstanding but the meal with drinks was still very expensive. Possibly the main reason I won't be back anytime soon would be due to price.
My wife & I have date nights on Thursdays, we like to frequent the typical fine dining locations in the triangle, but have never been to Saint Jacques, Can I just say...., everything we had here was unique and amazing, not only in flavor but in presentation. The service was great as well & my craft mixed cocktails where on points, Wife’s Bordeaux was perfect as well. They have a small area for dining that’s is very private and quite nice for a date ! We will definitely go again.
