Food and service were outstanding.
Great for date night, food is always delicious and service is outstanding
We always love the food with unique combinations of fresh ingredients. The staff was very courteous and we really enjoyed our visit. Highly recommend the cheese plate, filet, and the s’more dessert!
An outstanding experience that far exceeds your expectations based on its location. Excellent food, excellent service, in a quiet setting thats extremely convenient to North Raleigh residents.
We ate here another time. On Both occasions we were rewarded with excellent service and truly outstanding food.
Adrianne our server did an excellent job serving the extremely delicious food and wine for this dinner. This hidden gem is a treat to the palate. Wednesday night is 25% off wine so we enjoyed a tasty Saint-Veran. We were visiting from Wilmington NC so if you live here you should go frequently. Excellent quality at this restaurant.
If you haven't been here, get in your car now and go! It is amazing. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious- from the complementary bread to the escargot to the palate cleanser, scallop scampi, wine, desserts, coffee,... you get the point. Every time you took a bite of something new you simply couldn't help but comment on how good it was. Also, they just added a new Rose on the menu called Rose D'Anjou, Les Ligeriens and I highly recommend trying! My friend that I dined with prefers drier wines whereas I prefer sweeter wines and we both loved it! The restaurant is on the nicer side and a bit pricier so I would save it for a date night rather than a night out with the kids, but I can guarantee you won't be disappointed. I will certainly be back!
A prix fixe meal with reservation for Mother’s Day. There were shortages of 2 of the 5 entrees. Remaining entrees were quite limited a crepe or eggs Benedict. And all of the desserts were in shortage except ice cream and sorbet. Meal was good not exceptional at $45 a person. Service polite but was slow, 2 1\2 hours from seating to out the door. They did comp the meal for our 8 year old. Her quiche Lorraine was so salty it was inedible. Overall quite disappointing. More than likely that will be the last time we eat there. Which is a shame, pre pandemic we usually had a meal there once or twice a year. We wish them luck and a wake up call.
Quaint little French inspired joint tucked into a strip mall. Delicious food and drinks. Good for anniversary or special occasion. Quiet, low key atmosphere.
Appetizers were very good, but our entres were both poor. My wife had the duck and she had difficulty chewing it. I ordered the lamb chops special and both the chops were very fatty and chewy. I ordered medium rare and they were nearly raw. I think the price was $52, so not a good value.
Perfect! Delicious. Restaurant never disappoints!
Everything we ordered was exceptional. We started with the French onion soup and the cheese and fruit plate. We shared the steak for two, and also ordered the scallops scampi. For sides we had asparagus, green beans, mashed sweet potatoes, and fettuccine alfredo... all excellent. For dessert we shared the pineapple passion fruit sorbet with vanilla ice cream and strawberries. Perfect!
Exceptional service, everything was prepared properly, and quality of food outstanding.
Staff were great. We were about 30 min. late to our reservation and we didn’t even wait 5 minutes to be seated. They ran out of a component to our app. and gave us suggestions to all the different appetizers to substitute what we originally ordered. The main item was ok but the scallops were amazing. We were full from the bread and the main course so didn’t get to try any desserts but I would love to come back to try the desserts. Overall good experience
My spouse and I uniformly agreed that this was a special meal ,every course was superb! No disappointments----we will return when we have an occasion to celebrate !
Food was incredible. Nice environment, like you’re out to celebrate something even if it’s just Saturday night. Good service.
We had a reservation, but had to wait because the folks at our table were lingering. They lingered for almost 40 minutes. However, we were catching up with friends on a bench outside the restaurant. The evening was beautiful, so we really didn’t mind. Management was great. They apologized profusely for the wait and brought us a bottle of champagne once we were seated. Meal was outstanding. Escargot and creme brûlée are items you must get each and every time here. The best!!!
We were so looking forward to this dinner with friends but all 8 of us came away disappointed. Firstly, the main course choices on the menu were not well though out - 2 duck dishes and 3 seafood/fish dishes - where was the meat? One special of fillet steak was the only option. Secondly, my starter of coquilles St Jacques had so many breadcrumbs on top, it was had to find the scallops and sauce below; and the French onion soup was gloopy. The main courses came out almost cold, yet the plates were warm. The fillet steaks were not great quality but nevertheless come with a high priced tag. Thirdly, the service was poor. The wrong wine was bought out at the beginning, and several glasses of wine that were meant to go with the main course did not come out until after we had finished eating. This is not what we should expect from a fine dining venue with prices to match!
Not the old Saint Jacques. The ambiance of a strip-mall small restaurant was forgivable given the former French owner who would bring staff from France to teach them the art of genuine French cuisine. Since he sold the restaurant, it has gone straight downhill. The current staff don't even pretend to know how to pronounce the dishes. I would call it at best imitation French dishes. The escargot was nearly dried out and without the little toasted bread pieces to go along with it. Speaking of bread, the pieces of baguette were fine, but the other bread served with it was horribly salty. The Duck Gumbo I had was good but nothing you would find in France. None of the wait staff knew anything about the wines (with weird comments like, "I think this one is the most sweet"). Speaking of wine, they served the first glass, then put the bottle way over on the bar (to give us more room at the table), then ignored us for the rest of meal. I finally had to stop someone to have them refill our glasses.
In sum, a former quaint restaurant that has now become little more than a horribly overpriced mock-French experience.
Saint Jacques is one of Raleigh's finest French restaurants. The food is always so beautifully prepared and presented with excellent taste. The service is top notch. The price is steep but the experience is worth the treat
I had the NC catch it was excelent. My wife had the scalops scampi that was way too salty. She did not finish the noodles. We told the waitress and she replied to us that she she would tell the chef, but he did not even come out to the table.
Our overall experience was good.
The food and drinks were excellent, but the menu was quite limited.
We did feel that we were rushed.
Wait staff can be a little too attentive and that was the case here.
We hadn’t even had a chance to review the menu when we were asked for our order.
We enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere.
It's taken me too long to put this up and I cannot recall the name of our server/bartender, but he was absolutely amazing. He made great recommendations, had a wonderfully lively vibe about him, and made us feel truly welcome. We were here for our anniversary, and he truly helped to make it feel special. The food was amazing, and portions were generous. I definitely recommend the duck confit gumbo.
Everyone was very happy with their food choices.
I found the music too “energetic”, but then I always prefer classical to any other form..
We had an eight o’clock reservation and each of us would have appreciated more attentive coffee service. Would I come to St. Jacque again? You betcha!
Our evening at Saint Jacques was absolutely wonderful. They believe in high quality food, service, and beverages. Their French onion soup is out of this world delicious. Who knew something that seems so simple could be so extraordinary. The scallop scampi was also outstanding!! We were too full for dessert but really wanted to order 1 or all of them.
Our server was very new and made us feel rushed with our meal. We were in and out in 1.5 hours. Also, he forgot to reset the table with utensils and I had to beg for a knife. He was very nice but was clueless. We had to refill our wine glasses and crumb the table.
In regards to the food, my husband was truly disappointed that they ran out of onion soup at 7:30pm. That's what made him want to eat French food that night. There's no reason to run out so early of such a staple. The food itself was good and my Creme Brulee was spot on as always. We'll be back but we did leave a bit underwhelmed.
Great service! Food delicious. Chef was asked to prepare a steak for 2 but 2 different tastes - medium rare and medium well in the same steak. He did it and it was wonderful!!!!!
I highly recommend this restaurant!
The food was amazing and our server was personable and informative making my boyfriend's 30th birthday party a wonderful memory.
Was so surprised when we drove up to the restaurant and saw that it was in a strip mall. And then we saw the menu and ate the food. Fabulous!!!
We have been to Saint Jacques repeatedly and will continue to do so. The staff is amazing, as amazing as the dinners and brunches. We always ask for Anthony, who is a great representative of Saint Jacques; he always makes us feel welcome and knows everything about the food and wine and everything else. Can't wait to go back.
Ordered the Easter Lamb entree. Very tough, tasteless and overcooked. First time lamb seemed like old mutton. Very unfortunate. Waitress was kind enough to comp desserts.
First of all we have been here many times and always enjoyed it so we decided to go for Easter brunch. Unfortunately this time we were disappointed. We ordered coffee, peach Bellini’s, cheese plate, lamb entree and eggs Benedict. The coffee was good. The peach Bellini tasted like it was watered down with orange juice. You were only able to taste a hint of peach. The bread basket that came with the cheese platter was stale. Tasted like the bread was over microwaved which made it hard and rubbery. The cheese plate was lacking in... cheese. There was more walnuts and apple then cheese. We got this cheese plate before and it had twice the amount of cheese. It was really disappointing in quality, quantity and value. The lamb entree was delicious and no problem there. The eggs Benedict were ok but the accompanying potatoes were very dry and bland. We may give them another chance in the future but for now we will be taking a break from this restaurant due to the quality and value.
Wonderful food beautiful wines good service just overall totally lovely can’t wait to go back
Amazing restaurant with really good seafood preparations!
Everything was tremendous. Food and Service were A+
Servers and meal preparation were great. Time between courses could be improved.
Everything was perfect from the server to the dessert. We got the escargot and scallops for small plates and they were exquisite. For every plate we had my taste buds tingled. Magnificent!
5th anniversary. Excellent in every way.
I'm never disappointed. I never regret my order or think, "will this be good?" It is always so much better than good.
