   We visited saffron on friday, we were super excited to try a Persian restaurant so I booked for my family since we traveled to Palm Springs. We are middle eastern and are used to Persian food and the co owner visited our table a few times to check in with us and pre warned us it would be more what the call "modern" Persian. There is no such thing as modern Persian you are either serving Persian food or not. We ordered drinks they were amazing, appetizer tahdig trio 8/10 the gheymeh stew was the only one with not authentic flavor but the fesenjoon and ghormeh sabzi were great! Kashkeh bademjoon was decent but we advised to add grilled crispy onions on top that make it a plus plus!!! The food entrees from the rice to chicken kabob, to filet to koobideh were lacking flavor, not to bash them but we would love for the restaraunt to succeed and offer Persian food. The only advice we had which we shared with the co owner (it was a lady) was some advice on what to fix and on another note to add just learn how to make more authentic rice (basmati, long grain) we asked if it was long grain and basmati they said yes but to be honest it doesn't seem like it it's very small grain if it were extra long grain you would see the length and that's something Persians take very serious when making rice is the look and taste. The meat needs to be either marinated or prepared in a different way too hard to chew. They did mention they've tried to do "barg" which is thinly cut and they weren't successful which is fine thanks for being honest but why not take initiate to learn and master it, especially if you're charging $39 for a kings plate that's considered soltani. If they did this it would show their true dedication the the business and its consumers the lack of knowledge and initiative is what would prevent us from coming back. We wish them success and luck on their journey!

   Thank you for your visit and your attempt to school us on Persian food. As our co-owner explained, we offer a MODERN take on Persian cuisine tailored to the diverse tastes of our PALM SPRINGS GUESTS. You missed the point, we know how to make barg—and also know it wasn’t well received in its TRADITIONAL FORM by our broader audience (Non-Persians). Our goal isn’t to replicate your home cooking, but to present Persian flavors with creativity and quality. We value feedback, but we’re confident in our direction and proud to serve guests who appreciate both tradition AND evolution. You loved 2/3 stews and praised the appetizers then somehow claim that we lack initiative. Best wishes finding a place that better suits your rigid expectations. No need for you to come back here.

   The food is amazing and the staff is very friendly. Ashley, one of the owners, makes you feel special and welcome. So refreshing to have a great meal served by friendly folks. Some very interesting and tasty dishes. As a local resident of Palm Springs it is nice to have Saffron as an option to my regular rotation of places to visit.

   Enjoyed our meal very much Ordered way to much food though servings are very big but took rest home for later and they were good loved that Chef came out and talked w us for a while I will go back Enjoyed myself very much

   We loved the great service and friendly atmosphere. My only issue was with the chicken kabobs which both my wife and I found way too spicy. Otherwise a good dining experience

   We are deeply disappointed to receive a 3-star review after going above and beyond to accommodate your dietary restrictions and personal requests. We honored your “no carb” request by replacing naan with fresh-cut vegetables for your hummus and substituting extra grilled vegetables for rice. We also removed the Anaheim pepper from your plates, as you requested, to avoid any concerns about spiciness. Despite all accommodations, you sent your chicken back, claiming it was “too spicy.” However, we use only flavorful, not spicy, ingredients such as turmeric, garlic, and onion. To ensure we hadn’t missed something, our kitchen staff tasted the dish, and all agreed it was not spicy. This leads us to believe the issue was more about personal taste perception rather than the food itself.

   Only 2 complaints I had was the Safron Rice- amount given was good but the flavor was very bland. Not even table salt helped. The Shirazi Salad- flavor not for me- bland . The Kabobs and appetizer Shrimp good. Staff so professional and friendly.

   Thank you for your review. While you may not have liked the rice or Salad Shirazi, that is not indicative of our overall guest experience. The rice tastes exactly as saffron rice should taste and the Salad Shirazi is full of flavor as it contains freshly chopped vegetables in a lemon juice bath topped with mint. At the end of the day this boils down to personal preference. We are happy to hear that the mini kebab rolls and Tiger Prawns were satisfactory for you. We all need to bear in mind that preferences can vary vastly from one person to another. Some people love seafood while others believe that it's gross. That doesn't make either one right or wrong - it simply means that it's your opinion.

   Pistachio Cheesecake ... to die for I am a lover of all things Pistachio, so yhis was an easy one for me They also have Pistachio ice cream, have not tried that yet. ... next time

   We love Saffron! First, the hosts are truly welcoming and make a point of checking on all the tables but are especially attentive to repeat guests. The service is knowledgeable and timely. Most of all, the food is fabulous! We have had dinner here multiple times now and every entree and appetizer that we have tried has been excellent. Most recently, we had the trio of ice creams for dessert. I assumed it would be fine but it turned out to be much more...a delightful surprise of flavors and textures! We are so glad that Saffron has introduced Persian cuisine to Palm Springs.

   Our first visit, but certainly not our last. Can’t say enough wonderful things about the staff. Starting from our greeting when entering, then encountering all staff, the manager…..I’m hard pressed to point out a better restaurant staffing experience in our five years in Palm Springs. Melanie took care of us in the bar area. She was friendly, hospitable, engaging, thoughtful in explaining the menu. We loved our food. It wasn’t too precious or too fancy or too ‘exotic’. We felt like we were welcomed into a Persian home and family served us some of their favorites. Fresh. Tasty. Cocktails were great. Can’t emphasize enough how the staff is committed to giving you a lovely dinner experience. We will be back.
