What a wonderful experience. From the moment we walked in we were immediately greeted by Sylvia. What a warm, friendly personality and such incredible wine knowledge. We selected the wine flight and went with a cheese plate to accompany the wine. We learned everything we wanted to about the wine making, tasting notes, etc. We both can’t wait to go back.

Me and my friend really enjoyed our visit with Mrs Stacy, she was beyond knowledgeable about all the wines and I actually left knowing plenty of new things regarding to wine

Alfredo was our server and he was awesome. He was extremely professional and had great energy. The wine flight was pretty good and the pizza was the best! Great music and vibes.

We came for a bachelorette party. Obviously because this was during Covid, there was not as many people. However, the energy and noise were at a perfect level. It made us very comfortable and at ease. The wine was spectacular, every wine I tried was delicious. The food was great, the service was great, the atmosphere was great! As we were leaving, my group and I were already commenting on how we would like to go again!

I went to Sable Gate to get an experience of a winery in the Longhorne State. I am came from New Jersey to visit and help my friend celebrate her birthday. I wanted to take her to a winery. I expected to choose my own wines that I wanted to try but when your purchase the flights they bring you the wines they want u to try. I expected to have a list of wines and a description of what was inside them beside someone telling me what’s in them.

Best suggestion is to give your guests a list of wines to choose from. Also for the price they should be able to give you a complimentary glass. I come from New Jersey and then you purchase a wine tasting (flights) you get a glass for free.

Overall great place, ambiance was beautiful and the food was a hit. I ordered the dip with crabmeat.

Great wine selection for someone that doesn’t drink the traditional dry wines.

Sylvia was an amazing hostess. She was the owner and she stepped into serve as one of their servers was out last minute. Very pleasant and very informative. They had a whiskey barrel aged wine that was amazing! Had a great time celebrating my besties birthday.

Sable Gate Winery was a great place. I enjoyed the energy of the staff along with the amazing owners. I got the "Winemaker's Flight", which came with a selection of 5 different wine selections. The food was also very delicious. I am looking forward to going back with a group of friends for a nice night outing.

Sable Gate is a wonderful gem in Midtown area. Delicious boards and pizza. The wine is great- I haven’t had one I didn’t like yet! The owner is so nice and we love how she mingles with guests and gives great recommendations! We joined the wine club and will be back very often.

Staff, wine, food, and ambiance were AMAZING! Staff went above and beyond to make the experience a special one.

Excellent Experience!

This is a true wine bar. Szilvia provided a great experience. We purchased a bottle of Pink, if you like sweet I highly recommend it. Another friend did the flight and the knowledge & expertise of Szilvia was fabulous.

What a wonderful place! The owner was very attentive and paired wonderful wines with amazing food recommendations! Great place!

Very bad experience. Wine tasted like juice, had to leave more than half of the bottle. The people beside us also left their glasses half full. The charcuterie board was very disappointing. There were cheerios on top of the brie cheese. Also, the cheese was not well cut, the bread was very soft, the prosciutto was thick and rubbery.

Very welcoming atmosphere - I've been to two tastings now and enjoyed it a great deal. The owner/winemaker always takes time to explain the process and each wine. They have a great selection and a very affordable monthly membership. I look forward to my next visit.

Relaxing environment, a great place for wine tasting. Very in depth about the types of wines, they have to offer. Even bought a bottle to take home, that's how good it was. This spot will definitely be on our date night list.

Loved my trip there. Sylvia is the owner and very personable. She knows her stuff and is very friendly. I would go there again just for the experience. Food was delicious. Try the truffle fries. Worth every penny.

Great music selection and flight choices. I didn’t care for the fries. The server was very knowledgeable. Had a great time for my first visit in Houston.

Waitress was extremely rude to our bridal party. We had reservations weeks in advance. When I spoke to someone on the phone over my reservation I emphasized we were a bridal party wanting to do the “wine tasting.” The waitress did not want to serve us the tastings because there were too many “groups.” Her attitude towards us was unnecessary and very rude.

I wish we could say we loved this place, but unfortunately they fell short, very short of any expectation we had for a local winery. We always walk past The Sable Gate Winery, but have never went in, but based on the few positive reviews it had we decided to give it a try. I made a reservation. When you walk up to the establishment the outdoor seating is all put away and stacked- does not have a welcoming feel, makes you think they are closed. The outside electrical features are not finished, for example outlet hanging off, not properly installed.
When you walk in, there is no host stand or anyone to greet-hence reservation- where do you go for your reservation...? There was one server working, but she was not very knowledgeable about any of the wines, she was on her phone majority of the time, she took a few phone calls on her phone; which fine, maybe they don’t have a phone policy for their employees while taking care of customers, but we were trying the red wine tasting and kept waiting for her to realize our glasses were empty repeatedly so we could try the next wine. Also the food is not worth it, I promise. We ordered a “flat bread” which looked exactly like a French bread pizza and it did not taste any better then a frozen pizza from Randall’s. We also ordered a 7 item cheese/ meat board. The server knew some information on the meats and few cheeses, but once brought over she didn’t show which were which. Maybe we’re use to other wineries that are able to explain what is on the cheese/ meat board. The meats were okay, nothing fancy and the cheeses are not worth it. Believe me I love cheese! The inside area behind the wine bar is messy and the area to the left of the wine bar. The music kept cutting out- loud then soft then loud repeatedly; which was very unpleasant.
We really hope they are able flourish because they are in a great location and we love wine.

Went on a Friday night, it wasn’t too busy so can’t attest to a busy night there. All the workers there were very friendly. I ordered a pizza and some wings, food was great and came out piping hot. Had a flight of red wine and a couple of glasses. Nice place for a relaxing evening.

Visiting from out of state and treated a friend for her 21st here and we fell in love! Hands down would go once a week if I didn’t live so far away. The owner is so knowledgeable and friendly.

Our first time at Sable Gate was a great experience. We went there before a performance at the Match. They make their own wine with grapes that are purchased. We had a couple of wines and a cheese board. Both wines we tried were great. We will definitely return for more.

This was so fun. Owner was so nice. Great food. Loved the wine!
