While vacationing we made a reservation and we loved it! The food, the service, everything was wonderful ..
Service was great. Setting was wonderful… we dined at sunset. Family friendly, casual restaurant. Would def recommend
Need more allergy friendly foods on your menu.
Waiter brought us wrong drinks, didn’t replace with correct ones
I was served water in a glass that had old lipstick on the rim
We had an amazing time! The prime rib was delicious! Our server was friendly and attentive!
Food was marginal
Service was just OK, food was bland and uninspired, and overall experience was fairly blah. Didn’t finish our cocktails and decided to forego dessert based on the starters and entrees. Worst meal of our trip so far.
Our service at Royal Ocean Terrace was phenomenal. We were seated promptly, offered outdoor seating even thought the initial reservation said it was full, and our waitress was incredibly friendly. The food was fresh and made to our specific requests, and the desserts were more than worth their price. The ambience was a little old fashioned with a fun island feel. We will be visiting here during our subsequent Hawaii vacations!
Fun. Pretty. Hula dancers. Good service.
We had a 5:30 reservation and it was a nice view of the ocean. It was very warm inside - open air restaurant with no A/C. The sun was shining in our faces and we had to wear sunglasses (so did other customers). My boyfriend was very hot in the sun.
We thought it would be fancier, but it was by the pool of the hotel and many casual customers (the people staying at the resort walked through the restaurant coming to and from the pool.
The food was pretty good. We had a mixed plate and seafood pasta. The Kailua pork was dry. The huli huli chicken was flavorful and I also liked the macaroni salad. My boyfriend loved the fresh fish with tropical salsa. The seafood pasta only had 2 tiny bites of fresh fish in it & then 4 shrimp. The favors of the Sa ice were incredible - I wanted to lick the bowl! The portion size seemed on the smaller side. Mute service was good. We were seated right away for our reservation. The server was attentive.
Average. First floor hotel restaurant. Not great food, average
Good wasn’t the best for the cost. Some items were cold
Server was very rushed/pushy to order our meal - didn’t even bring settings or ask for a drink order. Had to wave him down anytime we wanted anything.
Had the shrimp stir fry, which was petty good and had 6 nice size shrimp with a ton of veggies. The seafood chowder was very good with nice chunks of fish and a Thai coconut broth that was just a little spicy but very flavorful. Would recommend the chowder!
The view is great - like most Maui restaurants.
Fantastic food and great service. The ending of the day ceremony was really nice
We couldn’t see the hula show and it was so loud we couldn’t hear each other talk. The food was good and the service was outstanding!
Beautiful ocean view! Food was very good
The view was amazing. The food is good and reasonably priced. It is at a resort so there are a lot of families and you sit outside near the pool. The pool wasn’t crowded. There was live music with just a one man band. It was wonderful. Definitely will go back for breakfast or brunch while we are here.
Cara is the beat server we’ve had in all 3 weeks!!!
Great service and ambience
Beautiful sunset live entertainment
Food great and crazy portions!!!
It wasn’t bad but not great. We both had fish tacos. The fish was nice but overall, they were tasteless. Drinks were overpriced but that was to be expected. The view of the ocean was beautiful but the people swimming in the small pool was not.
We had a great waiter and chatted with him. We had the mixed plate. Very good teriyaki chicken and fish. The pork was pretty dry. Overall we are very glad we went!
The food was horrible and the manager was not nice. The fish was chewy in both the seafood chowder and pasta dish, and the Kailua pork was dry as jerky. Although the broth to the soup and sauce to the pasta were food. Our server was amazing, drinks were great and nice atmosphere otherwise.
Service is scattered. They need to think through patrons being blinded as the sun sets.
Food was excellent, but we were seated on the patio in the blaring sun
They couldn't lower the shade because the pool guests need that entrance. We were very hot and uncomfortable for most of the dinner. Service was also a bit slow, but the mixed plate was worth it.
I was lucky to grab a reservation, everything is booked up. Honestly I was surprised with an overall five star experience. The staff is doing a fantastic job keeping up so short handed. The drinks were tremendous and the Pupus were delicious. We had the catch of the day fish which was mouthwatering and needed no seasoning whatsoever. It was melt in your mouth delicious. Our server Cara was so attentive we thanked her and the kitchen for their hard work.
Beautiful view and good food. Reasonable prices for the location.
We are on our honeymoon. This restaurant provided everything we were looking for
We arrived at our reservation time and no one would wait on us for over 20 minutes. Finally, the bar tender came to wait on us. He was fantastic! The sun setting was blinding as the evening went on.
We stayed at the hotel 25 years ago. We decided to have dinner there to celebrate our anniversary. Ford and Cara were both so amazing! They made the evening.
Our server wasn't friendly at all. The food was good though. They had a gentleman playing guitar and singing and I think he was the best part of our dining experience.
Food excellent. Service a bit slow but they were short servers. Casual atmosphere, poolside.
Very pleasant. Great location. We enjoyed excellent service from Cara.
Lovely ambiance, great guitar player and fabulous view. Salad with macadamia nuts and papaya was amaze-balls
Very enjoyable, beautiful at sunset. Waitstaff & lighting ceremony were amazing
Probably the worst meal/experience of our entire trip. The service was awful. Our waiter was rude, he actually seemed angry. He slammed drinks down on the table. He is in the wrong profession. Asked for a table by the water, had to asked again when we arrived. Celebrated a birthday and not one mention of it.
My husband and I ate here on one of our last nights in Maui. The restaurant seemed somewhat unassuming except for the beautiful ocean views. The food however, was outstanding. The Caesar salad was our favorite on the island. The fish was fresh and delicious and the cocktail was the best one too. Our server was attentive but not pushy. We will definitely return to eat at this restaurant on our next visit!
This was one of the few restaurants at which we could make a reservation for 5 people. We arrived and we’re seated right on time. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The food and drinks are waaaay overpriced. We ordered lemonade, Diet Coke and two daiquiris. The drinks were fine. For entrees we ordered the mixed plate, seafood pasta, fish & chips and fish tacos. The food was mediocre at best. The breading on the fish & chips was really thick and not very appetizing. My son ate the fries and picked at the fish. I had the fish tacos and they were good, but not great. My husband and daughter both had the seafood pasta and they liked it. We wanted to order dessert but nothing looked appealing. Overall, the total experience was just ok. Nothing special, but relatively expensive.
Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our sunset dinner on the terrace. There was live music, too. We each ordered something different and ended up passing our plates around for all to try because it was so good. Overall, our favorite was the Ka’anapali Mixed Plate. It provided a wonderful sampling of Hawaiian chicken, pulled pork, and fresh fish. Delicious!
It was nice views
Service was fair
