Royal Khyber is a Fine Indian Cuisine Restaurant, located in South Coast Plaza Village (across from Nordstrom).
Royal Khyber's food never disappoints. Their Sunday brunch, dinner and Saturday street foods choices are all wonderful. Their butter chicken is the best I've found! Service is attentive, venue is attractive. Definitely a must-do.
We love Asha! Food is wonderful, Chilean sea bass and basil coconut chicken dishes are outstanding!
The service is amazing. Very attentive, not pushy, actuate descriptions of the menu items, and they brought birthday dessert! The staff even remembered my friend from a lunch visit!
Delicious food...a calm oasis near shopping and entertainment venues.
Unbelievably delicious food and terrific service. This was our second visit (we had to come back to try more dishes) and it was Sunday before labor day so very quiet. We started our dinner with 2 small plates, one of fried fish which were so light to almost levitate off the plate and the other was a chicken dish called Chicken 65! Amazing flavor!
We shared several more dishes and between our first visit and this one, we can honestly say that everything we ate was spectacular!
Very nice curry and service.
The service, food, ambiance & presentation were excellent! I've been here several times and haven't been disappointed. My friend had the Chicken Tikka Masala, I had the Coconut Basil Chicken. We also ordered rice and garlic naan bread, along with wine for her, a Taj Mahal beer for me. Everything was delicious, and the service was quick. The ambiance was perfect, enjoying our meal while doing some catching-up. We enjoyed our dining experience at Royal Khyber. I'll be back again soon!
Possibly the best Indian food in Orange County. Such amazing flavors! The service is outstanding, and the restaurant is quiet and comfortable. A truly memorable experience!
As always fab food! I have been enjoying the food here for the several years. It’s delicious and consistent. See you next time:)
Great food. Very comfortable restaurant. Nice for conversation.
Wonderful atmosphere and great service. A bit pricey for Indian food, but everything was delicious.
Wonderful service, delicious food! One of our favorite OC restaurants. ♥️
The food was not that great. Quite bland.
Food was disappointing, not as good as we remembered.
I had 2 memorable dinners at Ghandi at that same location in the 80’s. My wife and I decided to try the fine Indian cuisine of Royal Khyber. We were both impressed by the excellent food and service of this restaurant. We strongly recommend it.
Very nice place for a casual business-type lunch. Menu was excellent with plenty of good choices. Service was outstanding. Recommend most highly.
We took my Dad, Aunt, and Uncle and we had a fantastic experience.
They took such great care of us. We will definitely be back!
A dish consisted of seafood and consisted of one item (mussels) was stale. Informed a manager who told us that he was just a host and knew nothing about it. Finally, the waiter approached us to apologize, removed the stale mussels and replaced it with different sauce. We were surprised the restaurant did not replace anew dish. Very poor management.
We don't dine near South Coast Plaza often, but when we do, Royal Khyber is always our unanimous choice. We love the ambiance, food, service, staff, drinks, menu selection and just everything in general. But it is the food that brings us back...always! Just delicious.
Wonderful food and great service!
This is our family spot. Everything is always perfect when we dine here. Service is superb
Great food and great service ( Asha is the best!). Lovely ambiance. Good selection of wines.
Terrific food. Updated menu offers the standards (chicken tikka masala etc.) as new more sophisticated choices. Ali who oversees everything advises on ordering and makes sure you have a great meal.
The chef made delicious dishes for my family’s gluten free, dairy free diet.
It was a wonderful dinner.
We went and celebrated a quiet 40th wedding anniversary at Royal Khyber. Whenever we are in these parts of CA we visit this restaurant. We ordered the Ajwaini Paratha. The Malai Kebab and Shahi paneer. The food was very good but not as good as our previous visits in 2018. We thought maybe the cook had changed. Love the complimentary pistachio Kulfi. We will come back to check it out next time
This has become our favorite restaurant! The food and service is unbeatable! The owner works there at all times and really cares about your dining experience. Probably the best in OC!
Have eaten several times at Royal Khyber. Service is always very good. Food always consistently good.
Service and ambience was excellent. Mango martinis were too good, should have stopped with just one. Garlic nan was excellent . Tandoori chicken was slightly dry to my taste, but I was alone on that opinion.
Good value for the money. We will be back.
Again, excellent service, thanks again
Service was incredible!! They were not only able to accommodate special dietary needs with one of our party members, but went above and beyond to make sure she could partake in every course of the meal. The food recommended to us was excellent and we are looking forward to returning as soon as possible.
This is my favorite Indian restaurant, hands down. Excellent service, food and ambiance!
Royal Khyber's new Saturday Street Foods Brunch is a great deal. Multiple choices on the brunch line, plus you get a serving of an entree, with rice and pickle, and naan. Service, as always, was impeccable and friendly.
The service was slow and very busy. It took 15 minutes for someone to get to us and provide menus and water service. The food is good but small portions with non-vegetarian entrees.
Disappointed with this visit. Granted they were busy on a Saturday night, but service was inattentive and food was very slow to come out. When we did get the food it was not up to usual RK standards. The sheehk kebabs were hard and dry when normally they are moist and tender, the salmon Malabar was bland, as was the lamb biryani. Overall felt that the food was less authentic and more Americanized than normal - maybe because we had white American friends with us they catered to their tastes - (they loved their food)! Will put it down to one bad experience, not necessarily representative of the restaurant.
Great service and ambiance
We have been coming here for 15 years but first time for a buffet lunch. For the produce we paid, variety of food we got was simply amazing. Every single item was deliciously prepared. One thing I like about this place is that they know how to cook great North Indian food!
Highly recommended for the lunch buffet! Nice seating environment, good noise level easy enough to chat and talk. Great selection of dishes over buffet style lunch.
As it has always been, a wonderful culinary evening.
Great brunch buffet with tasty food. For the price of the food, I was expecting a little more. Further, the website menu offered different suggestions with more Indian breakfast items than what was served. The food was more traditional lunch buffet items. I would recommend that the restaurant update their website with this information.
I love this place so much. From the moment you walk in you feel so welcomed by the staff. Even if you have to wait for a table they are so accomodating and sweet. Also if you do have to wait it is extremely worth the wait. Delcious Indian food that warms your soul. SO SO good would reccomend to anyone looking for an amazing night out and a fantastic indian experience.
