The Row House has never disappointed me. Unique, high quality food in an intimate environment. The menu changes on a weekly basis.
Entrees were over cooked. Zach, our waiter, was quite attentive. Wine pairings were perfect w/the food in each course, even when the food fell short. Dinner started with 3 great courses all 4 stars, and ended on a down note with the final 3 courses, none of which was better than 1 star. The vegetarian course of mushrooms had a texture problem because of tough, unmassaged kale. As stated, the salmon and beef tenderloin were both over cooked or unevenly done. The beef was tough. The dessert, a trifle with candied bacon, was a total failure of texture and flavor. Nevertheless we like what they're trying to do here and will give them 1 more try. But we will probably listen to friends and go to Chez Yazu before trying RowHouse again.
Love the imaginative food: so many flavors, beautiful presentation and varied mouth feels. wonderful to have a restaurant where the food is better than what I can make at home.
Outstanding, as usual. We come every time we’re in Topeka.
I asked for a “romantic” table for Valentine Day. We had our own covey with a curtain- very nice!
The Beetstrami sandwich is absolutely delicious!
We enjoyed the Chef's Dinner! We were pleasantly surprised by each dish and enjoyed every bite!
The food was well prepared and presented. We were especially impressed with the staff's politeness, kindness, and helpfulness.
loved the building and proximity to the KS Capitol. Food was delicious.
This was our second time dining at RowHouse. Both times have been a great experience. The cost is somewhat high which keeps me from dining there on a regular basis, but for a special occasion I highly recommend it.
Another great dining experience for us at Row House!
Very great service, good food, and a nice atmosphere
Highlight of our trip to Topeka! The food and service were both exceptional and one of the most special dining experiences we have ever had. Highly recommend!
Excellent food, beautiful presentation, comfortable seating, great wait staff.
Excellent food and service.
Our first visit to Row House was about 4 years ago when we stopped in Topeka. This time we were on our way from Colorado to Indiana and made sure we had reservations to stop on our way home! It didn’t disappoint! Everything was excellent. The mushroom soup, beef tenderloin, and butternut squash tacos were especially good. So were the cocktails. We love the intimate atmosphere of the house and the staff is so warm. My husband now has two of Greg’s cookbooks and loves them.
Perfect place for lunch. Amazing food and staff with perfect timing.
Classy dining experience with an excellent menu. The ambience heightens the pleasure of this fine dining experience.
Wonderful as usual. It is our number one place for celebrating and for evenings with friends. I buy all of the owners cookbooks.
Fabulous lunch! The portions were just right. The tomato dill soup and the ham and cheese sandwich were excellent. The ambiance was perfect! A wonderful experience
The RowHouse never ceases to amaze and delight with it's wonderful ambiance, delightful staff and delicious, creative menu!! Truly an incredible Topeka Treasure!!
Food was excellent and service was great!
Fabulous food in interesting late 19th century row house. Great experience.
The food is always uniquely made and delicious!
Wonderful setting, great service & fabulous food. A tradition with us. Worth every penny. Highly recommend. -Jeff & Laura Jacobsen
Perfection every step of the way. Imaginative recipes, creative menu, gracious, warm & impeccable service, astounding wine pairings. Fine dining at it's finest.
I proposed this evening at this very unique restaurant where we had a wonderful evening! The Chef’s menu was an excellent choice. The food is delicious and presented perfectly. We had great service and even though you are seated close to others you feel private and can enjoy the background music while having an intimate dinner. We plan on returning for other special occasions.
Greeted at the door. Old historic building with lots of character. Climbing stairs could be issue with some guests so tell them before you arrive, they will accommodate you. Seated in a private room. Provided complimentary champagne because of our anniversary. Hostess was very friendly and timely in her service to us. Food was great. Presentation and flavor outstanding. Been going here for years and never disappointed in service, quality, and diversity of food provided.
Dining at the Rowhouse feels like dining at a friend's house- comfortable but very special indeed. The ambience is wonderful and the food is phenomenal from appetizer to dessert; the staff is very friendly and helpful. I enjoy the chefs taste of all of the offerings the food is fresh and fun; it is my favorite place to dine!
Wonderful ambiance delicious food fabulous service. We drove all the way from Kansas City just to treat friends to this amazing restaurant.
Always a pleasure to dine with these incredible people in such a charming atmosphere. I really can’t say enough about how much I love the whole experience! They are so kind, and so accommodating of my dietary restrictions.
Excellent food and service, portions a good size - not huge but more than adequate (had a take home box). This was a particularly good menu, enjoyed the evening very much.
The food was incredible - best I've had in years. Service was great - we were greeted at the door and the servers were informative and personable. Had a great time!
The food and service was amazing. The perfect spot for a special occasion.
We had a lovely dinner with our good friends! The atmosphere is so nice, and the Christmas decorations are very nice! The food was absolutely delicious, too! My friend and I had the sampler of all dishes and were so glad we did! We will likely make this a yearly tradition!
Great experience with excellent staff, service and food.
Having dined at Row House multiple times in the past, this was a Lunch experience, which was new to us.
Both my wife and I had the 1/2 sandwich and Soup combination and it was more than satisfying.
I had the Tomato Basil soup which was a splendid blend of tomato bits and a wonderful cream sauce.
We both had the Grilled ham and cheese with was cooked to perfection.
Going to Row House is a treat and it is neither the fastest (although not slow at all) nor the lowest price. But in this case, you definitely get what you pay for and it is well worth every cent.
Quiet enough for a business lunch, or private enough for a couples escape.
If you haven't tried them for lunch, it is a MUST add to your calendar.
Greg and his staff always treat you as their favorite guest.
We found The RowHouse on line and decided to try for lunch. WOW, what a delicious Salmon salad, perfectly cooked, delicious mixture of flavors and not over dressed. The portion size was perfect for lunch. We had the pleasure of meeting the Chef/Author/Owner, Greg Fox and received a guided tour of the entire three stories of the late 19th century building as well as the kitchen. What a nice find in Topeka, KS. We live in Kansas City but can't wait to go back and try the dinner menu, I'm sure it will be worth the trip.
You won’t find better food anywhere, literally anywhere
We ate at RowHouse last Thursday on my birthday. We were seated right away and our server, Rusty, did a nice job of taking care of us. We had the Chef's menu with a testing of each of the menu items. You can tell that they put a lot of effort into their food and that everything is house made. It was all delicious. We really enjoyed the wine pairings too. Afterwards we were treated to a tour with a brief history of the building - lots of old time charm that you will never get from chain restaurants, even nice ones. This one is on our list to go back for another special occasion.
